Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive from the floatibg city of Jirga Para Lhao! They have so many different types of food stalls here! Let’s go try some, Papika! Papika?
Papika: “Aifos, can we leave?”
What? Why?
Papika: “Because I.. I’m scared of heights! You can’t even see the ground from here!”
What? But you can fly!
. . .
*sigh* Fine. Goodbye delicious vacation food.
But first, my post!
There are a lot of really great ways of moving around! Walking, running, flying, whatever Sora does in his magic Drive Form.. Yes, yes, all those are fun & good.
But, some games really take movememt to the next level. Your character almost always has to move around, so why not make moving around an absolute blast!? Sometimes literally, by making you move around via explosion.
And then usually dying.
From the explosion.
In any case, pretty much what I’m asking is; what’s your favorite way to move around?
Tl;dr? Here’s my point!
Favorite movement based abikities in games?
My answer:
First off, an honorable mention. In Kingdom Hearts 2, entering the magic based Drive Form would have you float around like you’re on a magic invisible skateboard or something.
This happens in Kingdom Hearts 3, when using the Mirage Staff, too.
I don’t know it just feels so.. Awesome!
But it can’t compare at all to Lunar Style, from Gravity Rush 2. By lightening gravity’s effect on her, Kat can jump over buildings, Gravity Slide around corners, and my personal favorite; launch herself forward at incredible speeds in something called a “Rocket Jump”.
Eventually, the Rocket Jump’s momentum will slow, and you’ll fall down, but if you rocket jump from a wall adjascent to your destination, you’ll fall in that direction, which will end up getting you there using less than the normal amount of Gravity Gauge. I call this “Superman Jumping”.
But that’s all for now, folks! Jambuhbye!

2 通の返信I'm a big fan of typical double/triple jumps like Destiny hunters, extended upon in games like titanfall, really well done in titanfall actually. A lot of up b abilities in smash games are fun mobility. And ofc how could I not plug Fatal Bullet again, the UFG being not only a really cool looking hookshot which allows for really swift reactionary movement and high dodging ability, but also the ability to let you outmanouver things via easily reaching high ground is a Godsend. Specifically good in that game because of the design of levels making it out to be a very solid item, where in most games it's just a side thing that can be fun but is either forced or not so practical. It's good but not the be all end all of movement abilities in the game.
I'll still probably pick Links up b just because of how I'm recently playing a lot of smash bros and it's so fun to use
1 返信Rocket jumping is always so satisfying, especially when you learn to pogo jump. Wall-running in Titanfall was very well implemented.

2 通の返信Titanfall 2, all of it. Getting one of those routes down quickly is just so bloody satisfying, especially if you net some kills along the way.

1 返信I'm a huge fan of movement and fluidity of Final Fantasy XV. Also Flowmotion in KH DDD is awesome too.

11 通の返信The Godbird's Soulstone from Dragon Quest VIII. Basically, after meeting the Godbird Empyrea, she asks you to save her eggs from a griffin that captured them. After completing this mission, she gifts you with the Godbird's Soulstone - if you use this item while in the overworld (i.e. not in a dungeon, town or cave) your party transforms into the soul of one of Empyrea's children and you can fly all around the game's open world. The exact physics behind how that happens, I wouldn't like to guess. Unlike other open world games that have a mobility tool/spell/character like this though, the Godbird's Soulstone was not made redundant by the fast travel system. See, there are certain locations in the game that can only be reached through flight - maybe a law stops you from going there, or it's surrounded by sharp mountains, or it's a landmass too high to board from your ship, or it's a gigantic malevolent being's castle floating in the middle of the sky. Most importantly though, it's just fun to use, and looks really cool. Also, I wasn't going to count things like Samus' space jump, Batman gliding or DK's minecart levels since you said "mobility power" but I see other people mentioned similar mobility tools so I'll compromise and put these as runner-ups. Oh, also points to squid swimming in Splatoon 2. Honestly, I'd like a Splatoon spinoff that is exclusively squid swimming. Best part of the game.

3 通の返信I like the Dishonored teleport spell thingy. Very useful.
Also: it's not spelled Abikities. Just heads-up.
6 通の返信I would say the screw attack from Metroid Prime 2. It’s always been far too much fun to use.

2 通の返信OdinsKnight101により編集済み: 2/7/2019 12:17:27 PMWarframe: Nezha: Fire walker - Blaze a trail of flames, scorching enemies and cleansing allies. Teleporting blasts the landing area with a ring of fire. - So it's pretty nifty and the teleporting thing is most likely to do with his second ability being able to throw his fiery disc at foes and activating it again to teleport to the rings location. It forgets to also inform you that it increase's movement speed by default 25%, not sure how to change it. Nova: Wormhole - Creates a wormhole allowing instantaneous travel. - Not really all too crucial for surviving but is very useful for getting from one place to another. Most notable used for cetus wisp farming at night. You can also increase how many you can make at once and how many times you or anyone else can go through it before it evaporates. Itzal Arcwing: Blink - The Itzal Archwing teleports a short distance, dropping all enemy targets at once. - You don't really use this for it's stunning capabilities more so for just getting from point a to point B as fast as you can. Makes open world content like Plains of Ediolon and Orb Valis much. much more bearable. And that's all I got. Edit: you said favorite. Well it'd would have to go for Nezha's.
