What's the point?
"I play more than you and got lucky to get the right pieces of gear to infuse to reach max power level, so therefore I get to destroy you."
That's literally Iron Banner in one statement. It's pretty stupid to not one shot a Guardian with Daybreak because I'm 17 power weaker. It's also pretty stupid to lose a gunfight because I do less damage despite me being the better player in a situation.
I'm so glad the loot and armor is ugly so I won't have to put myself through this cancer. Roll this around in your head Bungie: Power Level Advantages were never a good idea, and they never WILL be a good idea. Why else have you removed them from the game like, what...several times throughout the franchise history? This has to be a joke.

19 通の返信Iron Banner is arguably one of the fastest ways to power your character. The idea of the Iron Banner is that if you’re not already 650, you’re going to have to fight hard to grow stronger. If you don’t want your powerful rewards, you’re free to wait until reset.

2 通の返信Yeah OP i agree bungie shouldnt reward the players who put in time to hit max level its just dumb. Just because they play more of the game than me doesnt mean they should have better stuff and a higher level.
4head
3 通の返信yep, power level advantages should only be in competitive! Iron Banner is a special event, but it's not a competitive playlist. Again it was a kneefall to the streamers and no-lifers to implement level advantages. i'm 612 and i quit iron banner matches when i see too many with 640-650

1 返信blade329により編集済み: 1/2/2019 12:38:03 AMLOL. In a game where light level means so little, I don't have problem with one PvP mode having it temporarily. They had that in D1 and I saw few complaints about it. It's one of the few "perks" that actually does what its supposed to do.

All wins get you is 2 tokens more, so idrc. I did it at 385 when it went live for the first time after Forsaken dropped and I did decently well, got the bounties out of the way(most of them except for the orbs), etc. PvP, to me, is just online chest thumping, so while it's annoying not being able to do things reasonably because the levelling and infusion systems in D2 sucks, all it is is a longer grind. Personally, I find level advantages in Gambit more annoying because all you end up with is constant invasions with LFR users who can oneshot bodyshot you from across the map without having to get anywhere close to the action. At least while underlevelled in IB, having a team of six and making sure to cap zones means you can still get things done and get the kills you need. Gambit is just a cluster-blam!- of over-healthed ads and LFR spam.

1 返信Power advantages made sense in Destiny 1 when Iron Banner was the 6v6 PVP end-game event. One that many solo players used to use to 'catch up" to people who were raiding. Iron Banner doesn't fulfill that role in the game any more. Its just a monthly live event now that hands out themed gear. So I don't see much point to level advantage anymore.

5 通の返信"I play more than you and got lucky to get the right pieces of gear to infuse to reach max power level, so therefore I get to destroy you." Yes this is literally the point of building up a better, more powerful character in any video game that rewards building up a better character. There are plenty of Crucible modes for those who don't want to do that, or other games where everyone gets identical versions of the same character. Those you would probably enjoy more than complaining that you don't like playing in power matters types of games. Clearly if you're not fielding the "better" character you are not the "better" player no matter what you think about your personal thumbskill relative to the opposition. The skill required is to build the better character not whatever metric of "better" you are using.

1 返信I remember going in to IB for the first time in D1, that feeling of trepidation but also excitement was great. IB is supposed to be an endgame activity, so what you’re saying is raids should also have no level requirements. You say you don’t like the gear, so why are you playing it? I don’t like the gear either so I’m not playing it. If I was under levelled I would give it a try, once I realised that I needed to level up I would just go and do that, but then I don’t expect everything to be accessible to everyone especially if you don’t want to put the effort in.

13 通の返信What was the difference between Iron Banner and quickplay in D2 Vanilla? (not counting weapons or armor)

1 返信It's dumb when the combination of Level Advantage and Infusion costs limit your load out varieties.

2 通の返信People cried for power advantages back. I actually had more challenging fun fights without the power advantage. But, this community will always want the easy win.
