Hello.
Although I somewhat already mentioned that, lack of "Bungie read this post" sign in these boards leaves a lot of room for speculation whether their employees read or skipped written post. I understand there is a lot of us, and too few of them (although "Credits" list seems to be quite big) to demand a personal reply for everyone, so some automation may be helpful for both us and them. In addition, I don't feel like hijacking someone else's thread, so here is mine.
There is a step in Ace of Spades requiring you to land 25 final precision blows in Crucible. I know I'm not best shot, and I'm not sure my age and concussion are to blame, as I wasn't good in FPS games back in the days of Doom through Quake 2 (simply stopped playing anything "competitive" after that). Because asking you to create better matchmaking to separate people into different classes according to their rigs' performance (one player may have 30FPS, another 144FPS) or age (as alternative to weight in boxing), all I ask is to create alternate PvE quest steps for those who cannot or unwilling to participate in PvP. Even with your supposedly "uncomfortable" development tools it shouldn't be a way too difficult to implement.
And not need to tell me to "git good". I tried to play several (I think five) matches in Crucible, i was terrible. Maybe I even was worst player across both teams, but surely at the bottom. This mode is no fun for me and harvesting those stems on Mars is far more interesting than this. So all I ask is alternative.
Or shooting range, where we could try all guns before start our hunt for them: both Breakneck and Hazard of the Cast are happen to be quite fun for me, but I have no idea if Ace of Spades will.
If you constantly struggle to make game accessible and enjoyable for wider audience, it's strange to see such ignorance of older and slower people. We loved gaming when we were kids, yet we grow older (and slower). I was surprised I'll like this game as I generally avoid FPS, but it made me interested so much, I can't even remember a game I played that long in last years.
Take care everyone.

3 通の返信All right, I completed this quest step and I need to vent. But before that I feel obliged to thank all of you who supported me and gave me advices. In case someone who will be struggling with this quest step in future finds this post, I hope advices these helpful people gave me will help others as well. First and foremost, I'd like to thank Aero9182. His advices really helped me a lot to readjust for Crucible (in Gambit I can shoot in general direction of the invader:D). Moreover, my aim improved even in PvE. Sadly I couldn't find proper sensitivity settings to combine precision and speed for Crucible, but these words have nothing to do with Aero9182 advices. It was just me. Second, I'd like to thank all those who recommended to use Crimson (in no particular order): Aero9182, Mortal_Resonance, acerspades1, Noiztm, Mauno__Mato, Bringabeeralong. Last, but not least - all those poor involuntary team-mates who had great patience for my terrible performance and haven't said a word. Thank you, seriously, no mocking, tongue in cheek, sarcasm, irony or satire. Now to my personal "experience". Let's start with vent: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! Plough mandatory unavoidable "general" quests' steps that lack alternative ways to complete them. Plough this quest step in particular. With oversized cargo trailer. Sideways. Let me clarify - I'm fine Luna howl (or other similar weapons) require extensive Crucible work, because it is Crucible item. By my understanding, Ace of Spades is not, because it started "outside". Therefore mandatory Crucible step should have alternative. I'm not that stubborn person whose opinion is more immovable than titan's walls, but in this case - this is my opinion, there are many like it, but this one is mine. ;) I don't know how many hours I spent playing Crucible trying to get it, but if we assume 10 minutes per session and I played 37 matches in Crucible (I just counted them in my profile), let's say 6 hours. These hours were hands down WORST experience I had not just in Destiny 2, but in many other games. Playing X-Rebirth or Gothic 3 on release was funnier. Not because I got my guardian helplessly killed (I'm fine with that after all those Gambit invasions:), or, if you played Gothic 3 you know why, oink-oink:D), but because I wasn't able to help my team more. I don't like to be a ballast. I earned more super/melee/grenade kills than with revolvers (due to headshot requirement) and I had negative amount of fun while doing this. I sincerely do not understand how people using revolvers in Crucible aim that well, but if I had a hat, I'd tip it off. Crucible itself is fun even for strictly PvE players such as yours truly, but only with appropriate tools. For me revolvers just aren't them. Or at least - with precision final blows requirement: running with Ten Paces or Trust was kind of fun when I decided to go for bodyshots instead. :) However, in my final Crucible match, when I scored 25th kill, I swapped Crimson for my trusty AK... I mean Hazard of the Cast:). And managed to kill 3 guardians for remaining minute. Which is more than in four previous matches combined. *tries to suppress burst of laughter* Crimson helped, it honestly earned I think 20 kills. Others were done mostly via Jack Queen King 3. I'm surprised, as Crucible was the only place I used this revolver ever. Sadly neither Trust or Ten Paces I regularly use in PvE didn't helped with precision shots. Maybe their delayed explosion traits actually didn't worked, I don't know. However, I think not all maps were created equal. YMMV, but I had problems on certain maps where average combat distance is not optimal for revolver. As result - zero kills. As a guy whose friends gift him t-shirt saying "I work on caffeine and rage", my suggestion - don't come to Crucible for this quest only. If you have Lost Prophecies incomplete, go to farm crafting materials. If you already done Lost Prophecies then come here for something else, be that weekly milestone or Crucible tokens - anything. This way time will fly faster and "best stormtrooper" award will pass with less frustration - you're there for something else. And headshots are just pleasant surprise. If you have a friend who can work as "primer" and bullet magnet for you - ask him to tag along. Not that random Crucible players are bad, but entire nature of random is, well, random. As last ditch effort in case Bungie will keep chewing glue on this, let's roll call all struggling with this quest step, unite in fire team and launch rumble. This way we will be able to shoot each other in head at point blank range in turns and will complete this quest with zero frustration. Though I already completed it, I'll gladly lend a hand to save "fellows in misery" from frustration and loss of several hours of their life. Now kind of a list of things Bungie could implement to make this quest step easier. - Do not make mandatory PvP step for non-strictly PvP weapon, especially such as this. General participation in PvP is fine. - Make alternative steps either via higher PvE numbers, or general PvP kills. Say, 250 PvE headshots (I'd even agree on 500, it would be easier and more enjoyable) or 125 PvP bodyshots. Your glutes won't fall off if you do that. It will not undermine your work, but it will give us option to complete quest most enjoyable way. And we play games to have fun. At least I do. I have enough challenges in real life to add them into my hobby. - As hands down version of solution - since you award us for kills we didn't make, why not award for headshots? *giggles* - As laziest solution ever - add private matches' results as legit way to score headshots. It will completely remove any frustration from gamers and won't require too much of work from you. - For those of us experiencing odd performance issues and forced to play not in native resolution to maintain more or less stable frametimes, allow us to change not just the colour of crosshair (and preferably not with fixed amount of colours) but thickness as well. In native resolution it is fine, but in downscaled 1080p a bit blurrier than I like and it blends with certain backgrounds. Since I cannot adjust colour on the fly - this is a problem. Same goes for reticle (when ADS, though Crimson's reticle is less of a problem, but Thin Line - is). - Find people who: created this step, pitched it, approved it, implemented it, tested it - and tell them that they haven't though this through. Not all of your customer are teenagers with lightning fast reflexes. We will grow older and became slower or less interested in training in discipline we are not interested in. - Please, add Strange Terrain to list of Nightfall strikes soon, because due to my Crucible's side effect - Lost Prophecies completion, Osprey is the only thing that blocks Wayfarer for me. :) If you read this wall of text - thank you for your time and take care. Now excuse me, but I need to yell at clouds.

3 通の返信I'm not great at PvP I just stuck to using Midnight Coup and ground it out eventually. The head shots in crucible were cake compared to killing invaders with a HC prior to the update to the quest.

3 通の返信Hazukiにより編集済み: 12/30/2018 4:36:03 PMIt's a bummer when things like this happen. Trust me I had a lot of trouble doing this quest, too. But you can do it, you've got this! If you're on XB1 I can run into Quickplay and we can play kinda sneaky-like with the old-fashioned bait n' switch. I'll prime 'em with a sniper, catch their aggro and you can flank them right after. It's a surprise flank followed by another flank; pretty fun to pull off, actually. Don't worry about having to change your playstyle, I can coordinate myself with you, as long as we focus on maybe one or two people at a time.

5 通の返信I agree with this. I play Destiny 2 as a PvE game. I don't want nor care about PvP. Forcing me to play PvP is not going to make me better at the game nor improve other players experiences of the game. I have given up on the Ace of Spades quest and with that given up on this game too. The Devs think that forcing plays to do things they don't like will help the game. Well it will, by removing all but, the elite players. I wish this game was still fun, now it's just a nonpaying job that I don't want nor can even do. I got Destiny 2 for a PvE game not PvP. Having PvP forced to do have things I got from PvE was harmful to me as a player since I can not get them with the reason I got into and enjoy this game for. Bungie's next step should be to ban poor performing players; since all the Dev's want are the best players period for PvE and PvP, with nothing else mattering in their game. So I will stop playing since I feel Bungie does not care nor want me playing destiny 2.

12 通の返信Mortal_Resonanceにより編集済み: 12/30/2018 1:38:06 AMUse Crimson. Aim center mass. With luck (more often than not) the first two shots hit center mass and due to the guns recoil the third hits the head. This is what I did and it made it fairly easy. Two taps and you're done!

1 返信Crimson makes it easier if you have that. If not a bow/HC combo might be a good second option. Any HC with opening shot. Makes the hit box about 7 miles wide.

I’m also a PvE main May friend. I went into that step during the last IB of last season and I was actually way easier/productive than QP was. I ran that step with Crimson in Kinetic and a yr 1 Nature of the Beast. I know there are a lot of yr 2 HC people will recommend, my problem was (maybe similar to yours) you have to have them to use them. I jus finally got my first Trust on this account last week. I recommend trying to stick with yer team as much as possible. I think this may be why IB was easier to get the kills, people generally will play the objective, grouping us together a lot more. I’m am currently using IB for the actual Crucible quest that requires PR kills and I think what I picked up for AoS is helping a lot as well. Another thing that helped me was running Shadowshot in Mayhem. It doesn’t kill so I used it to set up for PR kills. Anyway, again from a PvE main, this may or may not help you and you will probably have a lot of other suggestions. Also sorry IB resets today.

1 返信I still think that bungie should have returned the original quest line for the ace of spades as this would have saved a lot of people time & frustrations . & on the plus side it would have given bungie some positive feedback on this exotic instead of having this bastardise quest line
-
I agree with op in that the exotic quests should have multiple routes to complete. I also only enjoy pve, I used to play pvp all the time in bungies successful game (halo) but that was because it was separate from main game and balanced. Plus it had real matchmaking aswell as dedicated servers........wow they sure lowered the bar when making destiny ><

1 返信I absolutely hate hand cannons for so many reasons. I struggled in quickplay as it's just too chaotic and requires you to 2-3 shot people in groups, probably got 1 precision kill per match. Finished the quest step in 2 rumble matches as there are less people shooting at you at any given time. Then again, if you aren't good with handcannons, I'm not sure this is a quest you absolutely have to do because well... You get a hand cannon from it. And others have recommended Crimson, it's pretty forgiving but you probably have to shoot wounded enemies to get kills.

3 通の返信Just saying...look at my K/d...i blow...sorta. lol I didnt have an issue with precision hand cannons. Idk i mean crucible is not all that bad. It was pretty easy to get them honestly. Few...lunas howl...oh boy that took me a few days lol solo comp btw. Didnt make it to glory in time tho.
-
4 通の返信Well, let’s look at this logically and objectively without anybody’s feelings getting hurt here. As much as I didn’t like the crucible step of 25 head kills, I felt if you wanted to earn the ace of spades that’s what you should do. Granted I completed this and I have the Ace.... However, that was before Luna’s howl and Not Forgotten was all over the place. Logically, if I was going for the ace right now, I’d probably be pulling my hair out. I feel it’s significantly harder now if you have to do this quest step. So therefore, I do feel they should modify it somewhat.

7 通の返信Every quest weapon should really have PvE and PvP options where you can do either to complete each step, even if that means the PvE version of steps requires more time to complete. You’ll get people who say git gud etc, but they’ve really got no good reason to say this shouldn’t happen other than an elitist attitude or getting some sort of cruel joy out of some people not getting stuff. It doesn’t affect them in any way if you can get a weapon doing PvE steps instead of PvP steps. Wouldn’t stop them doing itvia PvP steps. People need to remember this is a video game played for FUN. It wouldn’t affect their fun if you could do PvE steps instead to complete this quest (or any weapon quest for that matter).
-
Sure as soon as I can get raid gear from iron banner matches. Ace of spades isnt a pve centered weapon either. Nor is it a pvp weapon It's caydes weapon. And cayde ran through the crucible like it was a game. And he was great at killing aliens
-
5 通の返信If you have the crimson hand cannon. Use that. I’m hopeless with regular hand cannons. So I used the crimson. Got it done fairly quick.

I am old as Hell and I have reflexes like a cat, I don't know if its is because I am jacked up on Red Bull and Columbians finest or if it is my Heart pumping too much blood through my body as my 21 year of Brazilian wife bends over and I keep looking at her ass as she washes my Porsche Targa in nothing but a bikini and a Smile. you can bounce a Penny of that thing and turn it into a Hundred dollar bill, which I use to light this Mary Jane here because I think it might calm me down as my heart is about to explode, speaking of explosions, back in the war I use to catch grenades with my asshole as I dug a foxhole, I would just projectile them back into the opposite direction while I keep on digging, DAMN look at that ass. Sorry, I digress, just give me a second here, this shit is getting in my moustache, WHOOOOO that will put hair on any mans chest. so wait, what was this all about? oh alright, Ace of Spades, - Handcannon yes, good Gun to use in PVP, quest is not that bad. but that's because I am like a Puma. a Jaguar, a Lion, a cat chasing a rat chasing a pipe chasing a dragon down the rabbit hole and WHOOOOOOOOO this will,... damn.... this.. this is good shit. wait, shit, ass. yes! my wife has such a nice ass, that when she walks down the street, babies start laughing and grown men cry, and women start hating themselves for not being perfect all of a sudden, I just look down at her ass and I would say "Gabriela, You havo a Nice Asso"... she would just look at me and point at a Gucci Shop. speaking of shopping, I should go out with my washed car, and go buy more classic car shampoo, so Gabriella can wash my Targa all over again, but before I do that... let me just have my final little bump for the Road.... WHOOOOOOO..... that shit will realll gt43thgwt4uipihpihpihpiyuhwp6yihhhhhwp5hpy5gggggggggggggpseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

If you really want the Ace of Spades then you will do what is necessary to get this weapon. Go slow, stay low, pick your battles. Use your radar and catch other players unaware. Warm up with your weapon of choice in pve to fine-tune your aim.
