Not Playing Destiny 2 Has Been Great (Fully edited and basically closed)
[b][i][u]WARNING THIS HAS RESPECTFUL DISLIKE OF DESTINY.[/u][/i][/b]
I didn't expect this to turn into what it did and am a bit surprised. I'm not really paying anymore attention by the time someone reads this. So state what you will whether it be hate for having a different view or feel the same or just want to share. Do whatever you need to when it comes to being happy which was the entire point of this post which I expected 3 replies and last I checked it was at 505. Without further ado you may read the original post in full below and enjoy the laughable comment section when it comes to the extreme divide of rational and hate spewing.
[spoiler]Not playing this game has been the best time I've had since Forsaken. I got to 600 on two charas, Beat the raid, got malfeasance, and completed what I wanted to. I took a break because the feeling that the game was in a bad stated started plus I had nothing to do. When Black Armory was released I gave it a full on fair chance and didn't enter with high hopes. It proved that it was nothing worthwhile. So I stopped playing.
This has been a great time not playing. Its allowed me to take part in Alphas and play much better games. When the armor looks decent, the weapons are interesting, and the grind is worthwhile I'll probably start back up, but i have very little hope that it will ever happen. Hope you all are having a great day whether you enjoy the game or not do what keeps ya happy.[/spoiler]
TL;DR: Do what makes ya happy. Whether its Destiny or Somthing else just do what keeps you happy.

Edit 2: Most have expressed the same feelings glad to hear honest feelings more than insults because someone cant handle someone thinking differently. Been lovely to talk to you even though this is at 0 likes cause the other fans cant handle someone being negative I'll tell you it doesn't stop me from seeing all your likes. Have a lovely day all!
Edit 3: I know some of you with rational heads tried to give this at least a one but to the mods of the forums if you would like I'll fully allow you at this point to close or lock this thread. I think it's for the betterment of the rational community. Too much hateful behavior over an opinion dragged here. To all those who have been pretty civil and rational thank you for the wonderful conversations I hope we get to talk more soon!
Edit 4: I expected 3 replies when I posted this. 2 from the people who usual reply to my random tidbits and 1 from the voice of rage cause how dare I not think Destiny 2 is in some grand state like everyone else. We are now over 500 replies it truly amazes me. I put the update in a spoiler as well so if people didn't want to read or the message flew over their head the TL;DR is there.[/spoiler]

1 返信I took a long hiatus, came back 4 weeks ago. I'm already reaching critical mass as far as repetition and lack of rewards go. I hit 607, so I'd imagine next week after I grind it all out I should have a reasonable shot at doing the first forge. Then maybe second forge the next week or two. Who knows, maybe I'll even be caught up with the endgame curve before the next season hits. But then I look at the 50 hours a week I have to put in to keep up with that pace, and I look at how my rewards have been dwindling (exotics barely exist now after getting 9 the first week) as I keep going and I think, it's really not worth letting so much of RL go for it. This is not a game for casuals, I love the game but it is what it is. It makes me happy in bursts, but it is not a very good "hobby." Because all that hobby is to me is keeping up with the Jones'es.

2 通の返信I took a good break too after the launch of Foresaken. I played on a very casual/conservative basis and recently I've invested a bit more time. But the recent DLC launch of the Black Armory and the annual pass has not convinced me to invest any more money into Bungie/Activision. Their questionable grinding structure as well as lackluster & recycled content incites me to look elsewhere and possibly give Anthem a shot.

4 通の返信Cool story bro. I'm actually enjoying it immensely. I can't raid due to my two little hellspawns so having match made forges and weapons to chase is very welcomed. The Dawning is also very fun, especially with double engram drops.

19 通の返信Been on the forums since D1 and have absolutely no idea who you even are; I know Oddish and a lot of other big faces in the community...but not you. I can understand why you’re doing this; you were addicted to destiny and somehow gathered the strength to resist but in all honesty no one actually cares you stopped playing Based on reading the comments below you’re not known to anyone. What really is comical though is that you’ll definitely linger around here doing what you’re doing now announcing you stopped playing every chance you get (I’m hoping you don’t because that’s just sorry)

24 通の返信Just so people know, OP stopped playing the day Black Armory dropped. He played that day read reviews from others and made up his mind that the game doesn't offer enough. He bought Foresaken and the annual pass. It's like he bought a movie ticket. Watched the opening scene and credits then left. Read reviews and decided the movie isn't any good.

Yup the only thing that was keeping me here was PvP, but now that sucks so I pretty much lost all interest. I hate the time gating stuff, and honestly have lost any and all desire to play the game. Pretty depressing to be honest. Been having fun on Elite Dangerous and a little bit of R6S. Might try out Warframe too, and definitely some other good looking games coming out soon as well. I want them to make it a game I want to play again but, they just keep taking it further from what I want or, don't do anything at all.

3 通の返信Got to take a break from time to time. I still enjoy playing Black Ops 3&4, Doom(2016), Battlefield 4 and Warframe. I’m not saying any of them are better than the others, I just enjoy them all.

2 通の返信Too long, didn’t read most of it. That being said, I got the gist of it, and I feel the same way. Been playing Warframe, Tomb Raider and OG Gears of War lately. Been nice to do something a little bit fresh.

Both games, at some point, hit the perfect spot where everyone could play the game and get rewarded for the amount of time they invest into it. A hardcore player could bathe themselves in loot and the blood of countless Raid bosses and Crucible opponents to prepare themselves for the oncoming Iron Banner or Trials events. A casual player could hit up the Strike playlist and lose themselves in the gameplay for hours before cashing in their loot, satisfied from the chaos alone. This was supported by both games being designed to award players accordingly for their [b]time[/b] in the game. There was an equity about it, a balance that allowed everyone to get what they wanted out of the game. Nowadays? What the actual shit. In the space of a year, Destiny 2 not only lost the balance it had, it took it by the hair and smashed it against a wall. The game has become a devourer of time, forcing players to feed it hours of their lives away instead of rewarding them for the time they freely give. If you fail to constantly feed this ever-hungry beast, you get left behind and are forced to expend MORE time just to catch up. That said, no matter how much you feed it, the beast continues to break promise after promise and rewards you with nothing but the leftovers of its feast, demanding more. It's pathetic. Truly pathetic and a real waste of developer talent and player's time. This is why I uninstalled both games and have not touched them in months; I have no motivation to play the game anymore because there is far too much work to do just to move one step closer to the end-game and, even if I did get there, the end-game is shit! There is not a single activity in the end-game that can be honestly played because they are fun. They are just there to lock shitty rewards away with shitty puzzles and boring fights acting as the locks. I just got my copy of the Grimoire Anthology's first volume. Inside is an orgy of amazing storytelling and writing, layered by amazing artwork. There is so much potential in the world of Destiny, but it all gets pissed away with how absolutely terrible the game is at the moment. The people who are still playing this deserve so much better, a far superior game than what D2 currently is, and the people who have stopped playing the game can see that. [spoiler]TL;DR Version: Bungie have ruined their game by turning it into a time-eating slot machine and everyone playing it deserves so much better.[/spoiler]

6 通の返信I will never understand why people that say they hate the game and quit playing but hang around a forum of the game they claim to hate. It makes no sense to me, I've never hung around forums of a game I don't like or even play anymore.

I like how people say they don't care.....then proceed to comment on something they don't care about. I like how people say you are a lone wolf and the game is thriving.....yet I see posts like this every day. (Doesn't necessarily mean it dying people tons of people still play every day) I like how people say to leave all negativity out of the forum....then proceed to start an argument with someone in other posts when people are just talking about what they want changed in the game. People need to post why they are leaving and why they are upset. It's essential to make a game better. I stopped playing 2 months ago. The game was way too grindy for me. If destiny is supposed to be a game that requires you to grind all week then so be it. It's not for me. I can't be upset for a game being how it is when it is intentionally like that. I loved D1 and D2 for the most part (aside from vanilla D2). Had 400+ raid completions. Could go flawless if I wanted to and do basically whatever I wanted. I just couldn't do the same milestones over and over again with not much to show for it besides slightly going up in light level. I'll be back one day, but I can't be on for hours upon hours every week so I needed a break. It almost felt like a chore by the end of it especially when the Devs are seemingly making changes that no one asked for and when it's noticable that they make changes that requires more hours put in to make themselves look better.

I haven't been playing since about a week after Warmind launched, and life has been far better. I've come to realize that there are many other developers far more deserving of time. Many others are far better at story telling, gameplay, and monetization. I've also found many other developers more trustworthy. I just came over here to see if there's a new controversy, and while it is nice to see that there's not any I wonder if it's because people are generally more contented to play now, or if it's because the vast majority of people have simply moved on and nobody cares when Bungie screws up anymore. If Forsaken + season pass drops down to $20, I'll jump back in....otherwise....not playing Destiny 2 has been so far much more enjoyable than being roped into its BS.
