I've actually given up on hoping for them. I'll just do the laat couplebthings I have left to do and then move on and never buy another product from Bungie ever again. Not interested in one of the reasons to play is made so ridiculously hard to get, which by the time you do get them the game has basically run its course and is no longer fun enough to try those items out. I remember back in D1 doing endgame content really did have a higher chance of netting you an exotic(really did feel that excitement at the end of a nightfall reward screen), but I've gotten all my exotic drops from -blam!-ing bounties and random ass enemy majors. Getting exotics doesn't feel the same anymore, because it doesn't even matter what you do since it could come from practically anywhere with no seeming difference.
At that point that's just laziness and poor game design. No doubt they'll put them in fated engrams when Black Armory drops, but I'm not likely to be still playing by then, so there's no point for me.

They won't be adding forsaken exotics to the loot pool of fated engrams in black armory either. They said possibly in season of the drifter I believe, that they could be added. As far as the exotics, I have a hunter, Warlock, and titan, like so many others. But, since forsaken dropped, I've only played hunter with a few bits of play time on Warlock. I've gotten 2 forsaken chest pieces, black talon, shards of galanor, and queenbreaker from powerful engrams and exotic engrams. That's over the past like 3 months, so they are rare, but they're possible. On top of the quest exotics like malfeasance, thunderlord, and ace that I've gotten. My biggest recommendation is focus on milestones. Do the featured planet, crucible dailies and weeklies, gambit, vanguard. Also, unlike me, if you have reliable teammates or people, do nightfall, shattered throne, raid, etc. They have higher exotic drops

I already know all that, mate. I've done them on all three characters every single week up until the last week or two, getting mainly gear below the levels of my equipped items, essentially meaning I just get a handful of shards. The only two Forsaken exotics I've gotten were in the first week I played Forsaken, one from a random strike, the other from a regular Spider bounty. Have done all the "recommended" activities multiple times over with no luck since then. As far as Y1 exotics go, I've only gotten two from actual drops outside of Xur, both being dropped from random majors. The "recommended" means jack when it's all random luck, anyway. Actually got a couple exotics from the Flashpoint completion prior to Forsaken, haven't seen one from them since. In the end, it ain't worth the trouble. As I said, the game runs its course long before you get the exotics you want with this "expansion". I'd love to collect them, but they've made it next to impossible, and entirely unreasonable. I'm not going to waste away tens or even nearly another hundred hours for a couple novelty items. Isn't logical.
