I also have a bad trials kd but that’s from the first season. Haven’t played since, i would look at the last 10 games not overall. As an example season 1- Warmind I had around 1.0 kda with something like 18k crucible kills so it takes a lot to cause a change now I’m 1.45 and steadily climbing. Point being the old primary only team shooting mode wasn’t the most fun (that’s why the community almost died) and solo players got stomped. That seriously tanked many players kd. That’s why I recommend looking at recent games. Also trials hasn’t been out since the old no radar says that were horrible.

In general you are right, but these guys are seriously good, so the combination weapon & skill was not fun for us and must be boring for them... I’m a pretty good rock-climber for example, and I like to choose challenging routes, not the kiddy ones I could do without using my arms...
