The migrant Caravan (in all caps no less) has become a huge issue for the Republicans heading into the midterms.
They have embraced their fear mongering selves with a bunch of new ads designed to scare their constituents into voting red.
Don’t believe it.
Let’s go over some facts.
Not only are immigrants less likely to commit crimes than natural born citizens, cities that have had influxes of immigrants have seen violent crime rates decrease. These immigrants are not “rapists” as our dear fuhrer put it.
Second, these immigrants are mostly women and children, as opposed to the GOP talking point that there are strong young men who are going to invade our country.
Third, immigrants don’t steal your jobs. Automation does. As factories become more and more reliant on automated workers, there is going to be less demand for a human. Also, the jobs that the immigrants do take are the jobs that most people don’t want, like picking fruit or cleaning bathrooms.
So, should you be scared of the Migrant Caravan?
Hell no, it’s just another piece of Republicunt propaganda that’s designed to mislead.

I'm not concerned about the people. I'm concerned about the people that will take advantage of the situation. You see, to let in the caravan would be more taking a risk than anything else. Don't you think that drug cartels in Mexico and Central America are going to look at this and think: "Hey, a large group of people that doesn't have a 100% accurate population count is heading into one of the most profitable areas in the world to sell drugs? We can send in drug mules and sneak our people in almost completely unnoticed!" Also, what is stopping them from going to a place that wouldn't be as divided on taking them in, like CANADA? They apparently love taking in undocumented immigrants, so it would really be a win/win situation.

The goal is to keep the poor and working-class divided along tribal lines...and fighting among themselves over crumbs. While fear and prejudice is used to manipulate working-class white voters into supporting economic policies that make their own lives worse. https://www.thenation.com/article/exclusive-lee-atwaters-infamous-1981-interview-southern-strategy/ "You start out in 1954 by saying, “N****r, n****r, n****r.” By 1968 you can’t say “n****r”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “N****r, n****r.” Lee Atwater was basically the "Karl Rove" of the Ronald Reagan era. He was the most famous operatives in the GOP....and one of the main architects of the Reagan coalition and our current toxic and divisive politics. This was a quote from a last interview that he gave before he died of cancer. It is infamous because it's one of the few times that someone highly-placed the Republican Party spoke openly of The Southern Strategy and how the GOP used coded language and dog-whistle bigotry to link the racial hostility and anxieties of working-class whites to support for economic policies that the "establishment" wanted for their own benefit....but worked to the detriment of those same working class individuals. Forty years later, the economic hardship and the de-industrialization are the harvested fruit from that the evil tree that Atwater is describing. Forty years later....its the SAME BULLSHIT. Only now the groups being demonized aren't African-Americans. Its Hispanic and Muslim immigrants. Because the rich still need to keep the poor divided....and keep them from looking too closely at exactly how they keep getting screwed over.

12 通の返信Quite a few things wrong with your topics points 1) crime statistics are highly questionable. No organization has done an unbiased complete report on illegals and crime, because of the fact we dont know how many are here, how many are arrested and the crimes they are usually charged with. 2) They do effect the work force of America in 2 ways 1) They lower the pay scale for all Americans as they are willing to work at a lower pay scale the average American which effects everyone. Thats why the wage scale as stayed static for so long. The dont ask for raises and them being here undercuts all Americans. Simple supply and demand more works less reason to raise the pay scale to get workers. 2)They take jobs from Teens and minority groups including legal immigrants. They work longer hours for lower pay and lose pay such as overtime and benefits. Teens and minorities lag behind in employment because of illegals. 3) illegals use more Social services than average American and they get tax benefits that are only available to Americans. They are usually sicker due to poor conditions in their home country once they get here. They are also welfare and medicaid if they have children and continue to have children to force Border Security systems to not send them back. They also use our other systems such as educational that puts more pressure on the local communities to teach their children. 4) They make a permanent under class of poor in this country and votes for Democrats that they hope will allow them to change every aspect of this country by giving them amnesty and allowing to vote. If you ssy let these people in , why stop there why not let the next group right behind them no one in the press is talking about, or the next one after that, where do you stop? When you add it all up they maybe good people trying to make a better life but they dont really give back to the Nation. If they want to come here they need to do it thru the legal channels ALL the nations of the world have set up to promote legal immigration in the world.

3 通の返信... Of course it's a huge problem, they're not abiding by ANYONE'S laws, if they were seeking asylum, apply for asylum, but guess what, they havent, and we have no idea who, or what is in this caravan, yes, there are women and children, but we don't know anything about them, so if they want asylum, fine, we can look into that, but we have NO right or obligation to these people whatsoever...
not included in the DLC
Let's face the facts at this point: Trump's supporters dont give a shit if he lies to their faces. As long as he plays the right tune, they will blindly dance to it, even if he leads them into the ocean.

That’s the most -blam!- thing I’ve ever heard. I hope if the caravan actually reaches America our troops butcher them as they should be classified as an invading army. If we don’t stop them what is stopping the entire population of Central America from moving into the United States? Your pea brain didn’t thinka that one now did you? Or what about the drug trade? You think if we let in this many people they won’t bring drugs and weapons with them? I thought libs were deathly afraid of firearms. Apparently not when a Latino is toting it shooting up the ghetto. Typical.

4 通の返信Illegal Immigrants do steal jobs, just because automation does too and more doesnt mean it isn't a problem. Plus, since they're illegal, companies can blackmail them into working longer for less.

1 返信Catty_Wampus22により編集済み: 11/2/2018 6:15:48 AMI like how they say immigrants are lazy and criminals, then say they are taking their jobs.......maybe part of the blame lies with you if a lazy criminal can so easily take your job? And why did they send so many troops down there when the caravan is still like two months away??? All those troops will be separated from their families on Thanksgiving and for what?

It's funny how ppl keep trying to push narrative of the big bad criminal immigrant, despite the fact that statistics don't bear this out. Some ppl jump on the random story of crime being committed by an immigrant. However, what you never hear, or see, is any of those ppl backing up these claims w actual facts or statistics. The simple truth is that for every random act of violence attributed to an immigrant, there are likely 4-5 instances of the same act committed by legal resident.
