Crucible is a completely mindless activity now. It's just a bunch of brainless kids running and sliding all over the place with their shotguns. Absolutely zero strategy in play, because it just isn't necessary. At this point the only way to enjoy PvP is to hop in a full premade group and just stomp the other side. And even then half your premade is also made up of monkeys with shotguns!
I honestly can't believe this is the studio that brought us Halo 2 - Reach, some of the greatest online PvP I have ever experienced.
The shotgun meta is trash, and it needs to be fixed ASAP. Crucible sucks in its current form.

27 通の返信I can't believe people are still using the term "meta" to describe loadouts. It's still not a word, simply a prefix, though it does seem to be worming its way into language. It's not an acronym like RADAR (RAdio Detection And Ranging) or SCUBA (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus). Consider "SWAT", Special Weapons And Tactics. Acronyms are always capitalised (or should be), and if "META" were to stand for the oft-propunded "Most Efficient Tactical Advantage", the loadout (as in the "W" in SWAT) is left out. No, the acronym is a false etymology, a story made up after the misuse of the prefix as a word. "Meta" comes from the use of the metadata gathered about player activity and includes many other things besides weapons use, such as heat mapping, pathing, backend session data such as connectivity, etc. PvP players have homed in on "meta" to describe the loadouts, however, which is perhaps an ironic synecdoche. Shakespeare writes, "The fashion is the fashion." Perhaps, now, the meta is the meta.

SlappinSalmon24により編集済み: 10/18/2018 4:13:05 PMYou’re just bad at understanding how to play PvP if you can’t work around shotguns. I only die to a shotgun 2-3 times a game, whereas, thanks to the balance in PvP these days, most of my deaths come from range with rifles.

2 通の返信SlappinSalmon24により編集済み: 10/18/2018 4:10:36 PMThere’s strategy in working around the “meta.” Stop complaining cause it’s not even a meta. You’d know that if you played destiny 1. It makes sense that a shotgun at very close range is a OHK. I love running shotgun, but my KD and PvP experience doesn’t change when I run without one.

4 通の返信If you keep getting killed by shotguns, you should maybe try to use a counter to shotguns, like sidearms, SMGs, and fusions. There is a way to counter every weapon type in the game, change the way you play, you can't just run around doing the same thing and expect better results.

1 返信Quaddityにより編集済み: 10/18/2018 9:49:48 PMWhaaaaaaaaa keep on crying. You'll cry about the next weapon everyone is using after they nerf the current ones too. At least shotguns are usable again.

We need more maps that dont cater to shotguns. How about bringing combined arms back? How about bringing bigger wide open maps back. Most of the maps are mostly advantageous for shotties. Let nerfs be the last thing to ask for. I love using shotguns. By the way I used to barely use them in d1 or year 1 d2. I used snipers more in d1.

Removing special/energy ammo drops on death and replacing them with designated ammo spawn crates would be an interesting adjustment to the Crucible scene. This negates the game-play effect scavenger perks can bring, and adds a necessity for additional map awareness should the player feel that they need the ammo, or to deny the enemy team access to such ammo.

1 返信I agree completely. While I think the majority of Crucible balance is the best its ever been, I have to say, there are two things that need to be addressed. 1.) The Shotgun meta is cancerous as hell because it rewards braindead players and forces most players to rock a shotgun just to counter them. Not all, but most. How to balance it without making shotguns useless is tricky, but something needs to be done. 2.) Nova-warp is beyond busted. I don't know why this hasn't been covered yet, but everyone I've played with (which are people with brains mind you, not sure about the average player), has agreed with me that it is hilariously broken. Its a meme at this point. So while crucible is the best its ever been, it is a pale shadow of the era of Halo multiplayer that most of us know and love. I applaud Bungie for taking steps in the right direction, but one thing that has irritated me lately about them is how sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow they are to change anything. I mean, it took us a year just to get back to Destiny 1 standards. So yeah, I'm not trying to be over critical, but damn if getting killed by 2 apes running at me with shotguns isn't irritating as hell.
