It’s maxing out DPS and using classes to their max potential. If you consider that a cheese, please never play another MMO of any sort because everyone will hate you and I don’t want you to have to deal with that. Literally the entire point of games like this are to min max your character and use them to their fullest potential.
Now if you had to glitch something to get it to work, I’d say it’s definitely a cheese. But you don’t have to glitch anything. Just pump out enough DPS with the correct load out.
Edit: as per request I’m clearing something up. I don’t think destiny is a full blown mmo but it is an mmo lite.
Edit 2: to be clear, I consider a cheese anything that glitches the game in some way. For example, pushing atheon of the ledge is a cheese because you skip damage to him. Riven isn’t a cheese because you still have to do the damage to her. That’s just my opinion obviously

3 通の返信now while its not a push the boss off the map or connectivity glitch or whatever you wanna call it, its still a cheese as your skipping all the mechanics
-
20 通の返信It’s a cheese. Skipping all the intended mechanics and killing her in mere seconds is a cheese.

4 通の返信The fact you feel the need to defend yourself should be enough evidence that we both know it’s a cheese

17 通の返信Ragnellz, Gaze of Nezarecにより編集済み: 10/11/2018 11:42:54 PMWait has anyone even bother to look up the definition of the word STRATEGY aka Strat, well here is from Oxford dictionnary: "A plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim." The aim of the raid is kill the boss so what is everyobe bitching about, again. Here is a 2 cents solution, don't like it don't do it!

6 通の返信To all who think it is a cheese/glitch it is not. Dmg04 from Bungie has officially stated it is not a glitch and will not be fixed. If you don't believe me please fill free to look it up.

To me, I'd sorta consider it a cheese since a majority of the fight is skipped and having six people in one of the rooms when it's supposed to have three in each of them. That's really all I can say on the whole thing, I'm fine with whatever Bungie decides to do with either changing it up, or leaving it be.

17 通の返信In gaming, 'cheese' is a strategy which requires little-to-no effort. There's nothing exploitative about a cheese strat, it comes from the fighting genre where overusing the same, no-skill-required moves being spammed over and over would be frowned upon as 'cheesing'. So if your strategy is to stack buffs and then launch a lazy volley of rockets, it most likely is a cheese by definition. Again, 'cheese' isn't exploiting mechanics or glitches, it's a lazy, reduced-skill strategy.

59 通の返信Look at you with your bad self, making you feel better about cheesing the raid boss to clear something you can’t. If people using it call it a cheese, it’s a cheese. If you have to wipe if the boss moves the wrong way it’s a cheese (atheon had this in common too, and they patched that cheese) You making yourself feel better about it with justification doesn’t make it not a cheese. You skip the whole fight. Come on, man

18 通の返信TheUnholyRoseにより編集済み: 10/11/2018 9:28:54 PMThe clusters arent the issue. Its the 'putting 6 people in a single room that was built for 3 people and skipping every single last raid mechanic in the entire fight' thats the actually cheese. Doing the fight this way goes against the actual design of the raid encounter for the sake of making it easier and goes against Bungies intentions for said encounter. So yeah, its a cheese. And that's not an opinion, thats a fact. No amount of comparisons or ignorant arguing will change that. But what I don't get is why ya'll get so hurt when people call it for what it is. You're just going to keep doing it regardless and all of youtube and lfg already define it as a cheese, so stop trying ro validate it as something legitimate 😂

5 通の返信It's funny how "everyone" in this game asked for the "grind" but then spend all their time trying to cheese, glitch and exploit their way through everything.

4 通の返信Sorry but no, it is one hundred percent a cheese. This is simply due to the fact that you are doing the encounter in a way that it was never intended to be done. It is one thing to max out your damage in order to only do a single phase of damage, it is another to use a method that basically skips every single mechanic in the game which is meant to lead up to an actual damage phase. Even using the window ledge in crota was technically a cheese. It was taking advantage of a system limitation (how far the enemy shots went). This isnt to say that it is necessarily wrong to use a cheese, or anything like that, but both these things are still considered to be one. People also use cheese methods in basically every MMO, and the vast majority of them will freely admit that they are cheese methods, because again there isnt really anything necessarily wrong with using it, there is a difference between a cheat and a cheese. And so i am not quite sure why you seem to be so bent out of shape over people calling this strategy exactly what it is, it is just the name given to methods that use things like system limitations, to give players things like unexpected advantages, or the ability to skip mechanics, without actually doing things that would be considered cheating (such as unplugging your ethernet cord).

6 通の返信It is cheese. The usage of 'cheese' isn't supposed to represent any exploitative tactics, it's just a cheap or lazy strategy which was more than likely overlooked by the developers. The word comes from the fighter genre where repeatedly hitting your opponent with a simple, easily repeatable or difficult to block/dodge, attack, was considered 'cheesing'. So if it's a strategy which is clearly lazier than the intended method, it is cheese. It's not an exploit, it's not a glitch. But it is cheese.

8 通の返信Teleporting to the other room by using a glitch? Definitely cheesing it. Using mechanics that were clearly not intended to be used that way. Its a cheese. Just like staying up top and sniping Oracle's and templar was a cheese so is using rockets.

6 通の返信guess you can cheese all nightfall bosses lol... the analogy of what people consider "cheese" these days

9 通の返信Here's a question for you all. Seriously. The Grave Warden Strike. With the giant servitor and its AoE attack. Is it a cheese to put a rift down (any rift really) and continualy shoot the now completely stationary servitor in the face with Whisper? Or are you 'supposed' to hide? You know, 'the real way to fight' the Servitor?

14 通の返信BarretOblivionにより編集済み: 10/11/2018 8:52:35 PMNo, it is classified as a cheese. Cheesing is finding ways to circumvent mechanics in a fight. This is skipping 90% of the fight because you are burning it in an unintended way by the developers. It is up to Bungie to decide if this is okay or needs to change. Its the same concept in FFXIV a few months ago where in the extreme fight you could entirely skip a mechanic if you used a Tank LB and just DPS the boss while doing it. The devs came out and said that it wasn't intended for this to happen but there weren't going to change the encounter in anyways because the community figured it out. They still called it a cheese. The cluster bomb strat is classified as a cheese, cheesing don't require glitching, you can still cheese by using mechanics in the game.

5 通の返信ILoveI6v6Iにより編集済み: 10/11/2018 5:42:42 PMIt is a cheese. 6 players in 1 room wasn't intended, and you're ignoring all mechanics and just melting the boss. I doubt Bungie is very happy about people completely ignoring all the mechanics they designed and they most likely will change the fight to make this impossible in the future. Saying this isn't a cheese is the same as saying pushing Atheon off the edge with grenades is a "strat" lol.

11 通の返信Exactly. There are 0 exploits being used. Just stacking damage buffs in order to maximize damage. That's it.
