Alright, so pre forsaken I used to use Urials gift as my go to auto rifle for pvp and that used to be the meta so I was fairly effective in pvp. I have been swapping weapons constantly trying out bows, smgs, etc but now I'm trying to go back to use a good competitive auto rifle. I know they aren't the meta anymore but I am struggling to find a auto that can compete with the hand cannon and pulse meta right now. I have the tigerspite and I know people have been saying it's good, but I am still struggling at long ranges and sometimes even at medium ranges. I do play a lot of gambit and autos probably aren't the best choice considering the large open maps. But even in regular crucible I still struggle to compete. Do I just suck? Do I need a better role for my auto? Or are autos just that low on the meta pole now? Thanks

Bump for later. I'm still trying to find a good replacement for my Scathelocke and Guiding Star. Even in pve, the new autos just don't feel right.

I was thinking the same thing today. I haven’t found a new AR I like, and used to use Duty Bound pre-forsaken. I was thinking of giving that a try next, but am not sure if it’s outclassed by other Forsaken AR options.

Hazard of the Cast (Gambit) & Tigerspite are pretty good (depending on roll). For PvP it's going to be tough unless you are really good at headshots. Cerberus +1 is great at hand cannon range, but will struggle significantly at pulse rifle or greater range. Some of the year 1 autos are still good, but I'm assuming you only wanted year 2 suggestions.
