Why no "in game stat screen"
You get to see the stat screen at the end of a game. But I think it's neat to be able to check it out during a match. To see if you are close one of your personal goals, if someone in the enemy team is using a certain tactic or just for funzies.
Why no screen?

because Bungie is inept in every aspect of basic competitive matchmaking functionality. All the people that were with Bungie that made Halo multiplayer as amazing as it was left to work for either 343i or somewhere else.
