Everyone knows that death heals Primeval, but not everyone knows all of the intricacies of how the Primeval Slayer buff works. The Gambit Design team wanted to clear up a few misconceptions.
There appear to be some misconceptions about the “Primeval Slayer” buff in Gambit, particularly with how the leading team’s buff count affects the trailing team’s, so we’d like to take this opportunity to shed some light on it!
• Our intent for the Primeval phase is that the team that summons first gains advantage.
• The number of Primeval Slayer stacks held is unique to each team.
• If one team is significantly advanced in their Primeval Slayer stacks, the team that is behind receives ‘bonus’ stacks when spawning their own Primeval. However, the number of bonus stacks received is always going to be less than the leading team’s current total. Think of it as a tow cable trailing behind the leading team.
• There is a limit to the catch-up mechanic’s generosity. Even if the leading team is at Primeval Slayer x10, the lagging team will never start out with more than a few stacks when spawning their Primeval.
Our twin goals have been hitting the right balance between elasticity and competitiveness and fostering close, dynamic games. Now that Gambit is out in the wild, we’re closely monitoring the conversation around the Primeval phase (and playing a ton of it ourselves).
Happy Hunting,
The Gambit Design team
2 通の返信So my light level on my warlock is 555 and everything is pretty even except my primary weapon, which is 561, my energy weapon, which is 559 and a warlock bond which is only light level 548. I’m wondering if i should risk wasting a bunch of weekly and daily mission to get a higher warlock bond, which would result in only +1 overall light level or should i do the higher stuff first, like the dreaming city weekly missions or the raid rewards and then do my weekly and daily missions to fix my jagged edges, what would benefit me more? I really need to know. Thanks ;)

7 通の返信Having any type of catch-up mechanic is stupid in what is a competitive mode. Get rid of that BS and let the real good working teams win because they deserve it.

Not a big fan of gambit since people play like pricks and this game mode just screams for nerfs but you guys seem to be on a good path. Now for christ sake can you stop giving me duplicates! Every exotic engram i have ever opened has been a duplicate of something i got from a milestone already!! Super discouraging

18 通の返信No match making for easy ass nightfalls, but matchmaking on gambit? The lack of communication, coupled with the ignorance of the mechanics you guys barely explain, was always a recipe for disaster. And on top of that add quest steps in this mode, only offer guardians more opportunity to say screw the objective and let me get these kills. One more thing how about ammo drops? Seems when leading, a lot less secondary and power ammo drops, no matter what perks your running.

19 通の返信Seems like a perfectly good reason to play less gambit. Well done bungie, watch the numbers drop Remove the 'help' algorithms from this game, it's bad enough in pvp after the mid point that it kicks in but in gambit, with the constant invading buff, just horrible. You know streamers are only a very small part of the community right. If you continue to listen to only them, then that's all you will have left playing the game . Just a 'heads-up' for you

I feel the way to play is be the last to spawn a prime evil. It’s like D1 Sabotage all over again (let the other team cap then go kill and get more points). I’ve played games where we get our boss and the other team doesn’t even have half their motes to even bank in to only come back and win! It’s like their boss melts while we are standing still.

2 通の返信Dominator of Oatsにより編集済み: 10/2/2018 10:19:41 AMProblems with Gambit: Ace of Spades Quest (resolved) Malfeasance Quest Stop killing your game mode with these things. Gambit should just be Gambit to live and die by its own merits.

2 通の返信after reading this and playing gambit all weekend, the whole “getting primeval first gives an advantage” is bs. We have been winning more games by waiting to summon primeval after the other team, so that we get unlimited invades on the other team to completely stop them from damaging primeval. Invading really just ruins gambit entirely.

3 通の返信Could the Gambit Team maybe bass boost when the drifter announces your team can pull a Primevil? I think people are hard of hearing. You always got that one glue eater collecting to 15 instead of banking and going for the win. Makes me sad knowing nobody ever told these people that eating glue is not normal and not good for the brain

There are no close dynamic games anymore, the balancing logic does nothing to stop the 5 second boss kill. If your team cannot do this (which as a solo player is extremely rare to randomly match and co-ordinate to achieve) then it does matter how well you manage mote collection and if you spawn your prime first. Add to that the reduction of points for losses as you increase rank (seriously wtf) - there is virtually no point to try and play solo. When it started gambit was fun, enjoyable and very much competitive - however now people have learned how to cheese the boss it is dominated by teams versus solos. Also do not appreciate being dropped in to a match where first round was lost which had been 1v4 (Clan) - became a 3v4. Horrendous experience. Oh and balance power - having the average power difference between your group of randoms and their clan team being 30 cannot be considered fair.

6 通の返信What about teams leaving when the malfeasance prime evil spawns and then sending messages saying we got ours already so nothing for you.

10 通の返信Dear Bungie: Stop throttling Gambit mechanics. Stop throttling xp. Stop throttling Pvp win rates. Stop throttling internet connection/hit detection in favor of certain players.

2 通の返信I knew this was the case. Seems like a participation award to me. Thanks...you've made exotics extremely rare. Made the malfeasance boss rare as well. And give opposing teams buffs for not grinding like the rest of us. Lost so much respect for this game.
