Do people understand that you can complete multiple steps at once, so while you’re grinding to reset 5 times you will likely satisfy most of the other shit?
Also, the quest is around forever. The only thing that is tied to the season is resetting rank 5 times in any season. Don’t get it done this season, try again next season.
Basically, Bungie listened to feedback that limited-time rewards weren’t great for people who can’t dedicate a ton of time to Destiny in short bursts. So, this is perfect for people who want to take their time and earn things at their own pace.
To the 8000 people who got claymore, you can start redeeming packages for a god roll broadsword weeks and months before the rest of us. So, it’s not like your badassery was ignored. (The emblem is bullshit. I’ll never forgive Bungie for putting so much emphasis on those stupid things, but that’s my issue to work out)
So, let’s move on, shall we? Or, at least try to understand that Bungie gets yelled at by people because rewards are too easy to get, then they lock stuff behind Prestige raids and get yelled at for it being too difficult, and now they’re getting yelled at for both things at once on the same reward!
So, ya know, just relax and have fun playing a video game every once in a while.

Do you think grinding past fabled to get the ornament for the redrix claymore is worth it is there another emblem for that do you know? Also do you know if there’ll be a triumph for hitting legend rank max for glory?

pretty sure when Bungie a few weeks ago released numbers for those that had it - only 1,700 players had it - pretty sure 6,000 in two weeks time did not grind it out. but I could be wrong. and steps are not cumulative. one at a time. #8 will take a while. recommendation is that you do not reset ranking until you have gotten to that quest line, you may instantaneously have 1 completion under you belt.

Yep, I mistyped the number. Not sure why 8000 was even on my mind. I don’t know about the second part. Kevin Yanes tweeted about this and it sounds like at the very least the ranking part is cumulative. So, once you get to step 8 if you’ve already reset your rank 3 times in that season, you’ll only need to reset 2 more times. Plus, in the same thread Yanes confirms that double valor points are returning. I agree that it sounds like the other objectives will be step by step, rather than working on them all at once.

no you were right, for whatever reason I had the numbers confused myself - posting was for 8,700 players with it, went back to check it. as for resets- we might have to wait and see unless bungie were to come out and directly reply the exactness. for someone that has to grind to get to step 8 I would agree that if they get two or three times through reset, it should be a cumulative count. but for those that will cruise up to step 8 it won't be much of an issue.
