Skill and having s good team are two very different things. I got to 775 points myself playing solo 80% of the time over about two weeks. Once iron banner dropped, it's seemed like only teams of 3+ or 4 were pretty much playing. I won maybe 6 games and now I'm down to 675 points.
Point is, if you're not running with a team. You're pretty much not getting it within a 3 month range.....

Destiny is a team based game currently and if you can’t adjust you don’t deserve the Redrix
Cant adjust? Makes no sense to my point. The game is not built for solo players, never has been and this is exactly why they've lost so many people. Not everyone has time to organize team events and pool together a team, especially when they only have about 2 hours a night. Why is it favoring only people who can get carried by their team to get a weapon? What about those that are good enough to go solo, but their strategies are shut down by the other fireteams cordination and mic chating? While the other players on your team either quit or cant hold their own. Honestly, forcing players into team chat from the start would be a huge improvement.

You really can't call someone skilled just because they have the Claymore. Someone could have been carried or done an account recovery, essentially letting someone else do all the work while they do jack-squat. It was the same way with Trials gear in D1, You really couldn't tell if someone earned that stuff legit or if they were carried, or cheated through DDoS to get it.
