Hey all,
Yesterday, we announced the goal of removing time pressure associated with Glory ranks, and that Pinnacle Crucible rewards will be awarded via quests starting in Season 4.
Redrix’s Claymore will remain exclusive to Season 3. The Redrix’s Broadsword will be available through a pinnacle weapon questline in Season 4 offered by Lord Shaxx. To set expectations, here are the quest steps that must be completed in order to acquire Redrix’s Broadsword:

This literally sounds like the least fun thing I've ever heard about.. I'd rather watch battlefield earth non stop for 24 hours
-
Can these steps be done at the same time? I mean, it feels kinda pointless to first defeat 200 players with pulse rifles and then in step 4 defeat 150 players with precision shots from a pulse rifle.

I got a better idea dmg04 that will put more people in the playlist. Keepthe questline and give broadsword to claymore grinders keep their exclusive weapon. Have the first step be 200 opponents with pulse, auto rifle and hand cannon. Whatever one you get 200 with it locks in. Step 4 becomes 150 precision final blows with whatever weapon you use. At the end you get Hawkmoon if you chose hand cannon, bad juju if you chose pulse and monte carlo if you chose Auto rifle. From here you lock it or make it where you can restart the quest to get the weapon. Personally I'd live in the crucible to get hawk moon or bad juju.

KILLKLIPにより編集済み: 8/20/2018 1:18:51 PMGREAT JOB! I’m super happy about this because I wanted to grind for the gin but didn’t have the means and now I have a chance. People need to realize they never said those perks would not be available on another gun they just said the claymore would be only season 3. when have they ever had a legendary that had perks no other gun could have. I understand why people are upset but perks are not bound to legendary.

The MOST IMPORTANT FACT here is this: All of your grinding will be worthless when Destiny 3 drops. So to those PvP'ers bitching about all that time grinding Comp in Season 3... GG your gun won't matter. And to those anti-PvP'ers bitching about the extensive quest in Season 4... GG your gun won't matter. I was attached to my weapons and armor in Destiny 1. Kept my most prized weapons in my vault. Then Bungie meme-faced me and said, "What vault?" So I'm not attached to shit in this game. If I don't get something, I don't care. If I get something, I don't care. THAT'S the bigger picture here. Everything you want sooooo bad, WON'T. F'ING. MATTER.
-
-blam!- that... you guys are -blam!-ing nuts if you think that I want any weapon/item in the game that bad. I don’t think that I would even go through this once for any damn thing in the game.

Here is what OG D1 players had to do for the Thorn before it was a drop or purchase from Xur -- DESTINY WIKI A Light in the Dark (Year 1) For the quest in Year 3, see A Light in the Dark (Year 3). The Weapons of Sorrow were born from forbidden use of the Hive's dark power. We thought them eradicated. But recent developments suggest one of these weapons may still exist in the Hive's Summoning Pits.IN-GAME DESCRIPTION A Light in the Dark is an exotic weapon bountyultimately rewarded the exotic hand cannon Thorn. The bounty could be obtained from the Vanguard Mentor Missive, but was made unavailable in Destiny: The Taken King. Tasks Complete The Summoning Pits on the Moon. Earn 500 points by killing Hive enemies on the Moon. A normal enemy is worth 1 point, a Major is worth 20, and an Ultra is worth 50. Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in the Crucible. Death will slow your progress. Requires 500 points. 5 points are gained per kill, 2 lost per death (meaning that progress is made as long as the average ratio of void kills to deaths is sustained above 0.4). Kills must be made with a weapon or skill that does Void damage. Assists do not count. Obtain an Infusion of Light from The Speaker. This will cost one Mote of Light. Talk to Ikora Rey. Kill Xyor, the Unwed. Xyor is found in a level 26 instance of The Summoning Pits that is only available while this phase of the bounty is active. The Epic modifier is enabled, and matchmaking is not used. Phogoth must be damaged enough to trigger waves of enemies but not killed until Xyor appears. She is included in the enemies dropped by the third Tombship. Return to The Speaker to claim Thorn.

Everyone complaining about the broadsword sounds just like all the streamers not getting their way. Look at it this way. Either way you would’ve had to grind for one or the other. Those that did early get both. Easy as that. Stop finding things to complain about
-
Let’s make a comprise for all you Claymore elitists. Remove the broadsword as an option, bring back my D1 Y1 Messenger (adept) pre nerf and let me two tap your face. Better yet, give me back the D1 Y1 thorn pre nerf and you can keep the claymore all to yourselves.

If you lost all your matches you would have to play 1000 matches to reset your Valor 5 times 😂😂😂😂

I am one of the approx 9000 players that got [armory]Redrix's Claymore[/armory]. I am by no means a PVP god but I played all the matched and ground to 2100 glory. I only took place in that grind because I was promised that the gun was not going to be obtainable after season 3. That was a lie. Having a clone available that not only has the same perks but will have randomly rolled barrels/mods completely devalues that grind. Bungie said they wanted to do more for the hardcore players and they want items to matter. This addition is the antithesis of that. If you want people to care about items they obtain in your game you can't give them away, that's how you end up with launch D2. It's like them going
Not many people got the Acrius catalyst... Let's have it drop from grinding strikes.
Plus I don't understand what they are scared of either.
Oh no, approx 9000 players will have a good gun that no one else has that is strong in PVP. The horror!
Right now, I'm never going to use my Claymore again once season 4 drops and I have the Broadsword. Just a waste of my time. Another grind for an emblem.
-
I read step 1 to 7 and thought “that’s tough but doable”. Then I read step 8:
Step 8: • Reset your Valor rank 5 times within a single season
I’m out 👋
-
Has anyone actually taken into consideration how hard the Quest steps are? Truly? It might be more of a grind and time investment than the original gun was. Only difference- the original took a high level of PVP skill which the majority of the game does not have. Those same people- who are not good at PVP will struggle and most of them will give up on these steps. It’s fair.
-
If PvP was anything like it was in D1 then I think this is a grind, but most would eventually get there. But PvP in D2 is so rank that there's seems little to no point including this gun in the game cos less people will be willing to do this than they were to get the claymore. Wise up Bungie, you can't be this stupid surely?
-
Why don't you just sell the Gun at Eververse for 20 or 30 bucks, i bet more people will rather buy it than Reset their PvP Rank 5 times in 1 season

WulfPak666により編集済み: 8/20/2018 8:18:02 AMWell just think, while all the casual PvP guys are grinding for Claymore 2.0, all the real crazies will be chasing the better Luna's Howl and will be getting Broadsword to drop as a bonus so they can then proceed to drop hot dukes on everyone once they get it. Unless you just avoid PvE all together, or have 10+ hrs a day of free time, there is no way in hell you're gonna be able to grind for both the Broadsword and the Howl in a single season. Best case scenario you complete all the pulse rifle kill portions of the quest and then you just bust ass for the Howl while working towards the 5 resets (granted we don't know the Luna quest and it may be similar). If you roll hard on the 2-3x XP events you can easily jump to rank 5 in a few hours. Especially if it's Mayhem.
