Hey all,
Today we’ve discovered an issue with Quickplay Matchmaking. We are actively investigating the depth of the issue, and currently believe that neither connection nor skill are being factored correctly when forming matches. PvP Design Lead Derek Carroll has more information on our next steps:
With the release of Update 1.2.3, we introduced 6v6 Quickplay with a bug that causes skill-matching and potentially connection-matching to fail in that playlist. This results in much faster – but lower-quality – matches than normal. Our plan for the immediate future is to take no immediate action, monitor the health of the playlist, take notes, and ready a potential fix. We will inform the community with our findings and if we make a change, you will be the first to know (just like this time).
Just chiming in to voice my own frustration with being forced into PvP to earn the solstice rewards. As a rule I hate PvP. I have always hated PvP. I will always hate PvP. The only time I ever PvP is when the game forces me to. As for this event, to progress with it at all, there are two objectives where we are required to participate in PvP. In particular the whole "super kills" objective is exceedingly annoying. On average, I'm managing a little less than 1 super kill per 3 matches. To meet the objective looks like it will require a total of 30 super kills. I can anticipate 100 matches that I don't want to play before I meet this objective.
Why couldn't you have programed the event so that it was a EITHER <complete PvP objective> OR <complete PvE objective> ... that way those players who enjoy PvP could do something to progress the seasonal rewards, while those of us who hate PvP would not be forced to participate in activities we detest in order to progress the seasonal rewards? As it is, this seasonal reward is only punishing those of your players who enjoy PvE and do not enjoy PvP.
