I'll just say it...

When I get crushed in crucible, I'm always ready to admit that it was my fault. Most of the time, my team is just as good as the enemy team. I'm just bad. Can I get some advice on how to get better in crucible?

  • I find it best to play aggressive, but not so aggressive that you lose situational awareness. Try not to be on the defensive unless it is 100% optimal. As long as you’re the one instigating the fight, you put how the fight flows into your hands.

    • Donate to charity, volunteer at a local school, meditate daily, exercise regularly and call your mother twice per week. You'll be more at peace with the world, more content with life in general and therefore be much more focused on any task you put your mind to, including crucible. Or just practice, whatever is easier

      • 1) whoever controls the power ammo win the match 2) travel with a friend or group 3) pop your Super behind cover and then go and annihilate 4) aim for the head 5) stay close to cover 6) if they hit you twice before you land a shot, back off 7) check your flank 8) anticipate where the enemy will be spawning and avoid the area (don't wanna turn a corner had have a 4v1) 9) use your grenades at pinch points or to shut down doorways/flank paths 10) always keep an ally between you and the enemy 11) check your radar 12) if there are enemies on 2/3 sides of you, go to the open side before you get stuck in a kill box 13) listen for supers 14) watch the kill feed to see which weapons are being used and choose your engagement distance based on that 15) pick weapons with engagement distances that fit the map/mode you are playing (don't bring 2 hand cannons and a shotgun to Bannerfall)

AxelTheFox's crucible 101 tips: -Make sure you are holding your gun correctly. -It's not over until Shaxx sings, and he is very shy. -Pick a battle buddy, doesn't have to be the same guy every time. -Follow your battle buddy. -If your battle buddy is an idiot, pick a new one. -Be power ammo conscious. -When choosing exotics, consider the following: Does it heal you or give the enemy a debuff? If no, don't use it. (Ex. Gemini jesters take away enemy radar and wormhusk crown heals you.) -Be super conscious. If you hear a super, either run or be damn sure you can kill it. -Keep moving. Hesitation gets you killed. -Shotguns are the power meta, break that meta with a Fusion Rifle. (Main Ingredient, the Vanguard fusion, consistently one shots from three times a normal shotguns range) -Grenades can't kill full health enemies, but by God a grenade will level the field in a multi-opponent engagement. -When considering weapon loadout, try to plan for multiple situations. (Ex. Do NOT use a side arm and an smg which are both close range weapons. DO use such setups as an smg and a pulse rifle, or a side arm and a scout rifle. Be versatile with your engagement ranges.) -Be game mode aware. In control, DO NOT rush a point with five enemy players defending it. That is suicide 9 out of 10 times. In clash, DO NOT get caught alone. You get the gist, right? -IMPORTANT: Be aware of the stats your armor gives you. If you are a player that enjoys rushing, make sure you're either very mobile and resilient or very mobile and have high recovery. If you enjoy sitting back, run resilience and recovery to give you the upper hand on guardians not playing statistically conscious at range. -If you see a bunch of red X's on your HUD, don't go that way. Seriously, don't do it. You'll be sorry. -And finally, if you find yourself against a six-stack all wearing crucible emblems displaying 3.0+ efficiencies promptly strategically place your head between your legs and kiss your bum goodbye. Thanks for reading! And remember: "Fight forever, Guardian."

                          • Honestly you just gotta keep playing and understanding the metas and the pace of the game. You're either passive or aggressive in your playstyle and you should adjust your loadouts to suit you best. No shame in experimenting. Get some map knowledge and you'll see that same titan go through the same lane trying to kill u over and over and over again like clockwork. Also know what you want your power weapon to be used for. I use rockets on certain control maps and if we're losing that point I'll shoot a rocket there and get a triple kill. U can use a sniper and sit back and chill or push people with shotguns. Like i said you just gotta keep playing because time and failures are the best teachers 👌

i went from a low 40% wr to a solid 51 on all of my game modes, heres some of the things that helped me out. https://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/pc/zookeeper-11259 i'm just going to start off by saying that quickplay has become an entirely different game than competitive. i can write a huge paragraph about this if you would like me to elaborate, but it just all boils down to faster gameplay that is less punishing on mistakes. all of these tips are from a competitive mindset, but i haven't seen a single player that is good at competitive and doesn't outright stomp quickplay matches. always keep a wall next to you, if you become overwhelmed you must have a plan of escape. never stand out in the open. there are certain areas of the map where the enemy has multiple line of sights on you that is never good to be in. try to get the drop on people, if you cant win gunfights outright, try going for flank routes. no matter what skill bracket you're playing at, map awareness and good execution of it is always going to make you an effective player. play around heavy and supers, this is extremely important if you're playing competitive because of the sheer kill potential these two things have. look at the heavy, and try to only use supers when you know that you can kill people with them and nothing can shut you down (if tether is up and you have a roaming super, don't) if you can bait people into using these, its a huge advantage for your team. turn down your aim sensitivity and emphasize on precision, i use 800 dpi, and im pretty sure even that is considered high for some. in summary, keep in mind where your enemy may shoot you from, learn the maps and build map awareness, play around supers and heavy, and don't aim like you're a potato.

                              • Basic aim stuff, practice. radar is cool and all that but honestly a good set of headphones helps more. slide after corners when you are 80% sure it will be a 1v1. Never take on 2 at once unless you know you can outaim the enemy or have power ammo. In time you get to see paterns, most players take the same paths or end up in the same place, knowing this you can preemptive place a barricade or rift or run. Just because you are half hp doesn't mean you should run away, if you can't get behind cover in time, best to be agressie and keep shooting. If you die you loose but if you leave the enemy with out shield, half hp or trade kills then you are helping the team out. Honestly there are allot of small tips and tricks left but you get the hand of things while playing. Btw if you're bat at close range then be more passive and stay a bit away with a scout or long range rifle.

                                  • never challenge a 1 v 2 unless they are focused on your teammates crouch when possible so you don't give away your location easily jump around corner and start shooting from above, opponents aim will go over the place to stay on target(if they were in close proximity to you of course)

                                                • Private Matches: If you have some friends that are better than you, you might want to try to play some private matches with them so you can see where they outperform you and take in those strategies to become better yourself. New Gear: Try out some new weapons/armor and see if they work out for you better. In the current state of Destiny 2, there's plenty of weapons that simply can't compete with others. Do your best to make sure you have both a close-range and a long-range gun at all times so you can challenge most, if not all engagements. Be Aware Of Your Surroundings: Since a ton of fights tend to be a bunch of guys down a lane gunning each other down, pay attention to your radar and make sure you don't just run into a lane when there's five guys on the other side waiting to end you. Additionally, if you are chilling in the back of a lane, pay attention to your teammates and make sure that they haven't died/left the area and you're not the only person sitting there. Adjust Your Sensitivity: This is probably the simplest one. If you're having trouble hitting your precision shots (or shots in general, for that matter) try changing your sensitivity around to see if you'd like another turn-rate better. These are just a few things that should help you get better, but there's tons of factors that add up to "being good," many of which are extremely hard to explain in words. Overall, just keep on playing more, and the more experience and map knowledge you acquire, the better you'll end up playing. If you play a game and you see a guy on your team do well, drop him a message and see if he'd maybe want to team up - I often find that going in with teams is the best way to do better (including making callouts to stay together and teamshot, haha) and keep yourself happy and avoid frustration even if you lose or do bad. Good luck in the Crucible, man! If you're looking for some guys to play with, hit me up on Playstation @Butt_FTW

                                                  • A lot of PvP comes down to map knowledge and situational awareness. Knowing the map well allows you to better predict where enemies will be coming from, what your escape routes are, etc. This will come naturally over time if you play Crucible regularly. Use weapons that suit your preferred style of play and that you are comfortable with. Don't feel the need to follow the meta if those weapon types don't suit you. Learn how to move while shooting. Strafe to one side or move back and forth, anything to throw off your opponent's aim. Stick near corners, cover and/or choke points and try to avoid spending time out in the open. Using the environment this way will help cut down on the number of opponents who are able to shoot at you and gives you a quick escape if you find yourself outnumbered or losing an engagement. But really, it's like anything else. You need to practice to get better. Battlefield 3 was my first ever online PvP game and I was absolutely awful when I first started playing. The only reason I kept it up is because I was playing with friends. After a few months I was able to hold my own and then I started earning MVP ribbons for topping the scoreboard. You will get better if you put in the time.
