People are talking about a horde mode.
But thats a public event, correct?
*So it's a Court of Oryx....
**Sounds cool. Rotating loot so reasons to return. More than we have right now for sure...

The point is, I don't need a fireteam to do it. One reason D2's been such a lemon for me is that my clan is gone, and I'm therefore frozen out of raids and nightfall.
-
Looking forward to shooting one enemy from across the map and sit and enjoy the rewards for completing the public event.

Not an "infinity wave" horde mode per se. But it still looks cool. Should keep us busy for a couple of months. I'm not too bothered about this DLC. The September extension is what will make or break D2 for good.

Did anybody else hang out at Court of Oryx in D1 hoping other players would show up and participate after the first month? Or orbit...run to the Court...find nobody...rinse and repeat? This will be cool because it “new” for a short time then it will be abandoned just like before. That’s my prediction, it could end up being wrong. It could be fixed by making the arena a specific traveled to area from orbit. At least then people would get matched with others wanting to do the activity not just waiting in the sandbox for others to show up.

It's the evolution of these public-event-ish activities... Court of Oryx < Archon's Forge < Escalation Protocol. Based on the reveal, Escalation Protocol improvements: - No tokens required to activate the event - Escalation of difficulty up to 7 levels, as you complete each level

Its a Court of Oryx that ramps up to 7 different difficulty tiers. Its honestly a great idea and think it will be the best public event type mode we have had in Destiny. My only concern is... how long till people don't care about it.

Seems like a mash-up of Court of Oryx/Archon's Forge with Prison of Elders - only harder and longer (that's what she said)

Hmmm looks like the game still hasn’t improved. I’ll wait another DLC and check back

I don't mind horde mode-esque stuff for destiny. I really love gears of war horde mode but I hate that it takes really long and lots of quitters ruin it.

Court of Oryx and Archons Forge were also considered public events. Because you could access them from the game’s public (open-world) areas. Instead of having to queue into a separate playlist like we did with Prison of Elders.

Not impressed with another public event. Just like CoO and Forge.. ppl will stop playing it after about a month. We need legit small team end game. This isnt it.
