First of all, I want to say I am really enjoying the 6v6 Iron Banner. The pace is good and having the larger teams makes for [i]really[/i] dynamic gameplay.
That being said, when I am solo matchmaking I am up against stacked teams... a lot. I had 12 defeats in a row last night. Most of those I was either first or second on my team. Now, I don’t mind losing. I’ve never put an emphasis on needing to win to have fun. But that many losses is a bit excessive.
This brings me to my issue with the token system. I get 5 tokens when I win a match, but only 2 when I lose. So losing wouldn’t suck as much if I was feeling like my efforts weren’t being wasted to a degree. Now I know it wouldn’t be fair to just make everyone get 5 tokens, nor would it make sense.
I was thinking that if you were on the losing team, you would receive the 2 regular tokens, but then if you get top three on your team you get an additional token. You get 2 additional tokens if you lead your team. This way, casuals still get their 2 tokens, stacked teams or those RNG blessed get their 5 tokens, and solo players doing their part, but getting RNG screwing them over will get 3-4 tokens. I think I’d feel better if this were the case.

EDIT: I feel it’s important to mention, I don’t support the token system itself. I don’t have as much of a problem with it as others, but I can see the advantages of the old system. Ultimately though, this post was to find a better way to work with the system that is currently in place.

Good idea. And yeah, the token system is terrible, but it beats the hell out of the shit-coins you used to get. They capped at 5. I once went on a 14-game losing streak. Which means I got 5 Iron Medallions, and 9 TOTAL WASTES OF TIME.

2 通の返信The token system is just trash and should go away. That being said just make sure to rotate through your 3 characters and get those daily challenges done on all three. That drops like 45 total right there and isn't hard to get done. At least that way you are not getting totally taken for a ride on those loosing streaks. I am saving mine up to buy a car some day.....

The issue isn't tokens. Tokens are just the VISUAL representation of the REPUTATION that we used to get in Destiny 1. The problems are: 1. The lack of in-game drop of IB gear to distract people from the length of the grind. 2. The number of tokens for a loss is too low. In Destiny 1, we'd get medallions that were place holders for reputation if we lost a match, but they weren't redeemable until you got a win. But once you won, your medallions were worth 80% of the reputation you would have gotten for a win.....but you could only carry 5 medallions at a time. Bungie wants us to play-to-win...and have winning matter. They are NOT going to give the same amount of rep for a loss, as they do for a win....because you'd hve people showing up and just throwing the match or going AFK just to get their tokens. But only getting 40% of the rep you'd get from a win is too low....and especially too low given how litter protection solo players and randomly MM teams rae given. They need to either go back to the old system, where you get a medallion that you can redeem for 4 tokens only after a win..... ....or just giving people THREE tokens outright for each loss. In-game drops also need to come back when the loot system is robust enough to permit it.

3 通の返信I'm joining some of the other guardians here and say [b]add post game IB drops[/b] please. We still had to rank up in D1 and you got less rep for losing than you did for winning, so that's fairly even. The big difference was that you got drops in addition to ranking so it felt more rewarding overall. I'd be all in favor for getting rid of tokens in their entirety, but now since you can buy items from Saladin I would just prefer to see IB drops in the post game loot pool.

I always thought this in D1. Your reward should be determined by your placement end of match. That would have put an end to camping with snipers and invisible shotgun squatting, but bungie knows better as far as "pace or flow of game". D2 no difference. Placement determines reward. If you want to simplify what you said, winning team gets 5 tokens plus additional based on placement. First place on a 6 man team= 6 more tokens. Same applies for losing team except they get 3+ placement. It would push players to actually try and be first for a greater reward.

We need more tokens if were just 6 man fireteam fodder. Hell the 6 man fireteams should get TWO tokens and us solo players should get FIVE tokens!!! Im serious. either that or turn off radar so they have to use skill to fight us solo players. turn radar OFF or give us more tokens per match.

1 返信This is a great thought. It incentivizes the losing team to keep working hard so at least they can be the top of their team... prevents lazy “we lost” premature giving up.

2 通の返信They should scrap tokens all together. We use to get direct rewards after each match, even though it was random, I use to get tons of stuff from playing, and that was fun!

1 返信Not a fan of tokens period to be honest. The grind to level 3 and level 5 providing guaranteed loot plus loot purchase options coupled with post match event specific drops was perfect. Oh yeah. Power/Lvl advantages should also be enabled.
