I Agree their Microtransactions are slot machines

I Disagree, their microtransactions are just fine

1

I do NOT Buy them, therefore I do NOT care

4

Improve the game First, Leave this for Later

2

Make Eververse stuff obtainable like Crimson Days

4

Keep Up the GREAT Work Bungie, I Love You

Warframe did it! So can you Bungie! If you guys over at Bungie HAVE to hold onto microtransactions, Then please, for God sakes, REMOVE the Slot Machine Mechanic from it! Slot Machine - A type of Microtransaction in Video Games where the Buyer, of said Transaction, has ZERO ideo about what ACTUAL ITEM they are spending their MONEY on. Not Knowing what you are Paying For. It has happened in the Past and will continue to happen in the future where a regular Joe wants THAT SPECIFIC ITEM. However, that regular Joe has to "Pull the Slot Machine Lever" many, many, many times just to acquire his desired item. IF he acquires it at All, because He could have terrible RNG Luck and NOT get his Item. Hopefully that situation ENDs there, but there are some People too weak to call it quits there. Instead He might open His wallet again, and again. Making Him go broke, and NOT able to pay the Bills. That happens to Gambling Addicts All over the world, All the time. Yes Bungie, your type of Microtransactions could cause some Kids to become addicted to the rush of that engram opening. They just don't realize it yet that they are, in fact, addicted to gambling. Yes, I will definitely admit Bungie has been doing a MUCH BETTER job with them lately. Especially the way Crimson Days worked, it was a beautiful Idea! It was Executed even Better! So as long as they continue that trend with NEW Eververse items, then I guess this whole Post doesn't make much sense.... LOL! Keep Improving, and eventually it should get good enough to actually make me come back!!

  • So, it's gambling and it's not gambling. On the one hand, the laws in the U.S. anyway basically require gambling to be money for money in a game of chance. Things like the loot box escape the definition because you're buying an item, even if you don't know what the item is. They tell you "here's the universe of possible rewards, we guarantee you you'll get at least something out of that for your money" and that's good enough for the law - you're buying *something* even if you don't know what it is. Similar to baseball cards or magic the gathering cards or pretty much any other collectible card. On the other hand, it's so totally gambling, it's the same part of your brain and endorphin rush, and if you're an addict then that's it. Europe is taking a hard look at all of these loot boxes, on the grounds that they're making kids go bananas. Further, the "baseball card" analogy is deeply flawed - when someone purchases collectible cards, they have a tangible product over which they can exercise nearly all the rights of ownership - they can sell them, trade them, rent them out, lease them, borrow them, etc. Pretty much do everything except make copies of your own and sell them to others. They might appreciate (or depreciate) in value. Destiny loot boxes, on the other hand, contain nothing, you own nothing. You cannot sell or trade them. You only have a limited license to use the item yourself, or delete. That limited license is subject to unilateral change without notice, even revocation. In short, it's bullshit.
