You can get everything without paying, and there is nothing worthwhile behind the paywall. Not to mention, every game has stuff locked behind microtransactions at this point, especially games like this. Both MMO's and shooters are microtransaction-ridden. You'll have to do better than that to rebute me.

Actually I don't have to do better because I don't care what you think lol If you accept something "because everyone is doing it" then you really shouldn't be on the forums pretending to have an opinion about anything....

It's kind of hard not to accept a fact. Is it a good feature? No, not by a long shot, but it's here, and unless there is a dramatic shift in the industry, it's here to stay; and no, a few people not playing a game is not going to cause that shift. Also, nice ad-hominem. Insults really bring out the intelligence in a debate.

There are levels of tolerance that one can live with...some games go too far...those are the games no one plays...that is a fact...you defending this particular game doesn't change that either....Bungie asked, we answered - decline overwhelming feedback at your own peril....

Overwhelming? Do you know the percent population that is on the forums or the percent of that that supported the "remove eververse" posts? That was just an example of a vocal minority, and Bungie knows that. Just because you are heard the most does not give you influence. And, as this and any other game out there shows, there are plenty of people who are okay with that, and so no developer in their right minds is going to remove them. The only exception to that as Battlefront 2, but they changed theirs because Disney did not want that blemish on their IP. Finally, this game did not go to far; in fact, it was of the most noninvasive forms of microtransactions I've seen recently. Sure, you have the option presented to you every level, but there is still nothing worth paying for in eververse. So, no, Destiny 2 did not go too far. The parts of the community who got upset were just using it as ammunition to attack Bungie for not making the game exactly like they wanted. So, what's your real complaint about the game?
