The Connection Paradox

Revisiting an old but important topic. No matter what they’ve experienced and seen, throughout the entirety of Destiny 1 and now Destiny 2, Bungie still claims that Dedicated Servers aren’t worth their investment... Considering that the biggest problem (mainly in PvP) was the range of connection speeds and latency. With shots not registering properly or damage happening too late, the ability to use a lagswitch or ddos someone. Hell, getting shot through walls or a Stormcallers lightning getting you from a mile away or getting FoH’d or Nova Bombed when no animation even took place only to watch them slide away with no foot movement, we’ve all seen that one. Lag is what ruins the experience. Not often is it that you get a match with no red bar players. Even with hidden connections in D2 (that isn’t a fix Bungie!) So where is Bungies logic in this decision to not bother with Dedicated Servers? Money over rules quality I guess, because it would have made most of the other issues with D2 PvP at least bearable if shots actually registered properly and consistently EVERY MATCH. We all remember the rage it induced in D1. It really does make you wonder whether their play testing ever ventures outside of the own internal network.
