Getting the same exact equipment repeatedly with fixed stats is simply exhausting in this type of game. Everything's so bland. Everything does essentially the same things save for equipment with top perk combinations such as uriels gift.
Where's the end game incentive? If perks are fixed why use anything else? Adding mods to top weapons gives even more synergy.
Any fixes to the mod system are theoretical at this point and will still render mediocre equipment mediocre and the best equipment even better.
This sort of thing doesn't work for a looter game like destiny and is better suited to with less depth like Halo.
A huge shake up is needed though not everyone might enjoy it.

1 返信Static perks are boring and bland, but they are easier to test and balance. That's the only reason I can think that would make Bungie want to go with static perks.

1 返信There isn't but they couldn't manage the game balance. It is hard like making content so they just took out all the loot in the game and convinced players to chase ships, sparrows, and ornaments. Now that is AMAZING!

1 返信You miss your god rolled weapons that made you feel better than the people who didn’t get them huh? Random rolls were never a good thing. Ever... Stop trying to bring back a system that should’ve never been here...

10 通の返信TheShadow-caliにより編集済み: 1/16/2018 5:20:14 PMSee, I don't get this company at all. Why remove things, change the game just to turn around every time to put it back to what it was or like it was? If this company can't handle separating PvE from PvP a lot of what they are doing now is pointless. Take what works out of this game and come up with another idea that doesn't work for this game. Bravo! If this company can wake the hell up and (stop trying to fix what Isn't broken.) Maybe, just maybe this game can actually move forward. This backwards crap has gotten majorly old. Go back to y3 system, problem solved. While they are at it. Remove Luke that literally has no clue on WTH he is doing being a lead. Put him back on creating raids, problem solved. Knowing the sandbox can't handle this game and thinks nerfing the most popular is called "balancing" Remove the lead and for whoever's sake, find someone that knows WTH they are doing. Get the team to actually play the game so they know WTH is going on. This mean Both aspect of this game, not just PvP. This way we don't have to deal with someone throwing a fit about hunters because he got his butt handed in PvP and started going on a nerf rampage, problem solved. Separate PvE from PvP and adjust things accordingly like other companies that have a brain do, Problem solved. Stop changing teams creating this game. Stick with a team that has a feel for the game, problem solved. Learn how to actually communicate with one another, problem solved. Get your company properly managed, problem solved. To damn many bosses running this company... Adding perks to this game will not help it knowing how watered down this game actually is. I mean, who the hell came up with mobility? Yeah, that will improve things lol Since 99.99% of that wont happen. This game is screwed and it will always be this way with this company. See we cant handle this game let alone Activisions contract so we will wing this enter game cutting corners to hurry up to push out our broken unfinished product.

2 通の返信D1 was a looter game D2 not really. D2 is not an RPG the only thing that implemented are methods to make it seems as an RPG just to increase the play time. Casuals really love it but hard core hate it.

Its for balance, some people dont have the time to grind rolls. I propose a massive loot pool so you'd almosr never run out of weapons to chase. But there would need to be a good amount of perks to add variety. Also reskins need to stop. There are 4 better devils clones...

1 返信One of the weirdest decisions they made to a loot based game was to make static rolls.

7 通の返信When power level means nothing and everything scales to your damage what use are random rolls or mods except for maybe faster reload, bigger magazines or quicker ADS? The fundamental difference between D1 and D2 is the “power fantasy” D2 has had that removed to make it easier to balance pvp and pve.
-
Look, D1s random rolls were like kissing your sister. They weren’t good. Most looters, mmos, well most games in general, do not need them. The only reason random rolls were liked is because there wasn’t enough content. D2 has less and no random rolls so people keep asking for them. Instead of ask for the same bad design choices and lack of content in D1 why not ask for better?

2 通の返信[SiN]大き氷により編集済み: 1/17/2018 4:42:37 AMYeah random rolls that had so much meaning that I constantly had new legendaries that I wouldn't level up and never affected my ability to play content. In other words I played with white weapons and still played better than most. Where when I did level them literally nothing significant about the experience changed. Wonder why maybe because it isn't actually a loot based game, and it's proven time and again when the devs say that constantly lol. Also halo actually has depth, unlike destiny which is just arbitrarily complex. Random rolls is absolutely meaningless, I would rather them worry about more substantial upgrades to the game. Not that people asking for random rolls are worried about that. You just need your dopamine fix lol. I am saying you are all addicts, in case you all missed it.

Because it's a loot to shoot game and not the other way round, pvp is the final endgame no matter how bad it is or how much anyone hates it. so fixed roles is the closest possible way to balance that is achievable

We actually had a mix of random rolls and static rolls. All the exotic guns were static but with interchangeable perks and all the raid weapons were also static rolls but everything worked so well. But I do agree with you, It gets really old fast getting the same gear over and over with no difference, even the one's with different names and different shaders are ultimately still the same weapons

static rolls were for the casual player, bungo explained it in a pod cast see before you had this tree of options and you had to KNOW what the tree was and what the options meant in d1 i could have a grasp of malok and you could have a grasp but they be 2 totally different guns, i as a casual would not know that. in d2 if we both get a uriels gift we both got the same gun and could talk about it. Now the real issue became what happened to all of the guns then? The impression we got is there would be uriels gift. uriels rifle, uriels auto rifle, uriels gun blah blah blah. But there was not the guns are basically all the same. But then they said MODS ! - those will make the guns different but they dont. Then they said MASTER WORKS - those would make the guns different with their perks - but they dont. Everything is the same, which makes the game easy for casuals again you dont need any special gun for raids or trials etc - must have black hammer or gallyhorn as all of the weapons are basically the same. but from a players point of view its all meh...once i get my uriels / antiope/ nameless midnight/ put other vanilla gun name here i am good to go.

25 通の返信Der Sheffにより編集済み: 1/16/2018 5:57:38 PMThe only reason people want RNG rolls back is so they can have a leg up on unlucky players. The reasoning and rationale always boils down to elitism. Random rolls need to stay gone.

2 通の返信This and the Primary/Primary/Heavy weapon system are my biggest problems with D2. You can't have a looter with static rolls. With RNG rolls as in D1, any gun can potentially be great. Some of my favorite weapons were non-meta guns that dropped with an amazing or interesting roll. My Badger CCL with Crowd Control, HCR, and Outlaw slayed in PvP and PvE and I rarely saw anyone using one. Static rolls remove any excitement of new loot, because the best gun will always be the best gun, and the worst will always be the worst. Even when adding new weapons it's going to take the community about a week to figure out what's good and what's trash and only about 1-in-5 of any new guns added is ever going to be worth using because the other thing a static roll does is require everything to be right down the middle. No god rolls, so nothing too good, and nothing too bad. They just need to commit one way or the other. Either they want this to be a FPS and should get rid of the looter elements in favor of armor skins and 20 or so different weapons, or they want it to be an RPG looter and need to start pushing in that direction so we have less balance and more fun. They can't continue to try to make a game for everyone because it's not possible and it's clearly not working.

2 通の返信I'd rather have more guns than random rolls. Aint shit more frustrating than getting a gun you want with completely worthless abilities. Add more guns.

What they're trying to do (or at least it's what they were) is tread the line between an MMO, and RPG and a Borderlands-esque looter shooter. Masterworks was a step forward, but the only real reason to have them was for generating orbs to get your super back faster. I feel like Bungie was afraid of Masterworks being too incentivised over normal weapons if they had more of a stat buff to them and made them not really mean much other than to create orbs. I've read in the development update that they're trying to create more incentives for chasing endgame loot such as raid, prestige and normal NF drops as well as balancing how they give out rewards. My piece of advice to them is to make changes, then go back and correct what needs to be in future patches. Bungie looks like they're finally trying, but they're being extremely sheepish with how they roll stuff out. My hope and advice is that they push stuff through, and that if anything needs to chance, go back and do so if it's a problem.
