Bungie logic for PvP balance.
Main motto: "do away with any skill gap"
I mean for God's sake, how do you justify what they did to snipers?
They move shotties, fusions and snipers into the same slot as rockets.....
So to make them viable they buff fusions to ungodly levels never seen in D1 (not even in vanilla)
They buff shotguns to the strongest they have ever been. (Almost y1 fellwinters range, but primaries kill twice as slow to shut them down AND they easily OHK supers now)
Then they go and nerf sniper damage and handling, increase flinch and zoom, and add scope bounce/sway.
What???
Fusion rifles get easy collats at ridiculous ranges and can now OHK supers like it's nothing.
Shotguns hit collats often, have stupid range and easily OHK supers.
Rockets.... are -blam!-ing rockets... so ya..
snipers are just shit.

I find that the full auto shottys are pretty meh in the crucible, probs only the highest impact are worth using just like the d1 mapador days. Fusions and rockets are the best choices for your power slot definitely, the only time snipers work is when you can catch someone off guard and that can't happen very often. Especially not when the game tells you who picks up power ammo, what weapon type and where they are on the map. Swords are hit or miss, so they're fine as is imo. Snipers could use some love, but I would not get hopeful for it.

Hawthornes and the trials shotty are very good. But yea, from what I've experienced with snipers in D2, you need to be sniping people in the side or back of the head while they are distracted. At which point why not just use a mida considering you are usually on a huge flank and they have no cover...

See I think slug shotguns and linear fusions need a range buff or innate over-penetrate. Darkblade was my go-to in D1 and by far one of the best fusions w.o going heavy. Making them power/heavy weapons was a great idea due to one shot kills, but if you don't wanna buff sniper damage then buff ammo capacity and classify them to kinetics and energy's.

Linear fusions and slug shotguns aren't very strong. Why? Because Bungie hates the concept of a skill gap and those require precision hits. They offer basically zero benefit over a weapon that you can just aim center mass with...

TripleJにより編集済み: 1/11/2018 5:36:25 PMDon't forget swords, half their stats are meaningless in pvp since they 1 shot regardless. Why even have the heavy attack? They should change them to take 2 quick strikes to kill and make the heavy attack have a use in pvp. I think quickfang is the only one with a useful heavy attack since it has a dash, on a weapon that already boosts move speed, what?
