Can Bungie afford to wait till Jan. 11th to respond?
Deej stated that the TWAB will be back on January 11. I do not think Bungie can afford to be silent till then, saying simply "we are listening" and "we hear you" is creating apathetic community members. At some point they stop protesting and realize the game will never be what was promised and leave. They won't buy future Bungie games they will forever be gone. Bungie has a deal with Activision for one more game and the short term gain of Eververse will be a much larger long term loss for future profits. Bungie needs to either Fix the End Game, Fix PVP, Remove Eververse, Etc, Etc, Etc... They cannot afford to just "listen" they need to show they are going to do something. I realize that doing takes a while and costs money and do not expect overnight changes, but also realizing the community has been mad since October and only boiled over to outright rage after the dawning. Bungie cannot afford to not at least give a timeline of when they are going to do. But maybe they just don't care and truly went all in on a cash grab for D2 and hopes the community has a short term memory and can be swindled again in D3? Who knows, and pretty soon, who cares?
Edit: Clearly a bunch of you do not understand that I am talking about opportunity cost!
My question is this: can the short term gains mad from units sold and pre orders in conjunction with mtx be worth the possible long term losses to a future Destiny or Bungie title by alienating more members of the community and seemingly not caring to fix any problems?
Will they significantly hurt future titles the way Bungie keeps metaphorically stepping in it over and over again and not properly addressing it with what seems like no end in sight?

They don't care because while a few thousand a-holes or less bitch and moan about hating the game, a few hundred thousand or more addicts keep playing the game, not caring care about what's posted on this forum, the subreddits or the youtubes and happily keep putting coins in the Eververse slot machine and Bungovision keep raking in their cash. -blam!- those guys and -blam!- Bungo. Me, I'll be spending my time elsewhere. I'm having a blast again in Warframe. At least my time there isn't being wasted and if there are items or cosmetics I may want to get, I can simply buy or craft them without RNG bullshit in the way.

They are going to keep silent and gold onto what little players they have. Bungie will get loud again right before the next dlc. We won't forget Bungie, no one will take your word anymore. No more preorders, no more day 1 purchases.

They said they will deliver changes to the game in 'early January'. Maybe they'll actually deliver a patch on Tuesday and TWAB will adress more changes to come. Heh. Or Bungie's gonna be Bungo and do nothing and TWAB will contain "we're listening! Hope you enjoyed Dawning!". 🤧

Bungie, well, Activision explicitly of not only Bungie have been doing their own gambling with good will. They were given the benefit of doubt with D2, given the high volume of pre-orders, in spite of an under current of frustration, and the initial burst of day-1 purchases were sufficient to encourage Bungie to repeat its bad habits, i.e. releasing a shell of a game, only to trickle things back into the core game. Now, the revelation that there was a reboot in 2016? If true? Which I suspect it is... is a truly ugly scenario... for a game that was in development on paper back in 2015... per Bungie, to suddenly have a reboot? HOW THE HELL DID ANYONE LET THAT HAPPEN? LET THINGS GET SO BAD THAT IT HAD TO HAPPEN? To me, the most important issue is how they screwed up so bad, that they realized less than a year before release, they had to start over to at least some significant degree? And, what were the side effects of the reboot? Maybe the loss of the guardian voice was really a negative impact of the reboot? Or whatever? That I would really like to know.

1 返信It's just arrogance at this point. It is still their game though, so they will only speak when they're ready. I'm not sure what people are expecting them to say. It will only be a passing apology regarding eververse, promises to spread the loot pool into the game itself (without having to take from eververse itself). An update on the items they're working on, with an ETA to patch for season 3. They'll then positivity spin the fact that FW and IB banner is returning, so get ready Guardian. A short welcome back to mighty community managers - which will trail into MOTW and about 4-6 runner ups to puff the piece as there was no TWAB for a few weeks. The final sign off will be "we continue to listen and pass your feedback onto the devs, so keep it coming"

2 通の返信Twitch streamers left their consoles with most casual gamers to enter hardcore community on pc for more fps and therefore going to other games. D2 is fine as cosmetics sold for silver is no big deal outside of the forums and a million plus players are signing in to play daily only to increase as news of the upcoming faction rally and iron banner to be revealed later this month.

What I'm worried is when Bungie removes microtransactions ...gets in a moral high ground and so ignores adding new content. I am outraged by the lack of meaningful content and crucible repetition and such a little strike playlist. Eververse shit is way lower on my list. It's my choice to use it. I hate microtransactions but I don't find it threatening ...but then if the game had meaningful content each mother-blam!-ing month I bet people wouldn't be so angry over this. So yeah it can coexist provided they give more content regularly Edit : replying to your edit ; cringe ...don't be a jerk and don't ask rethorical questions

I don't see this new plan being anything more then lip-service. I just don't believe that they can fix D2 in a decent timeframe. The game is so fundamentally flawed on such basic levels it's going to take years, not months, to fix. Why on earth they decided to design it in such a way as to encourage people not to play it is beyond me.

It’s the only reason why we allowed such digressions by Bungie in the beginning. We purchased a game buying into the promise. “It’s a 10 year plan”. We all though that it was going to be the first great console MMORPG. However, it turns out we all bought a money making RPG game. Realizing this and the fact even tho D1 wasn’t the game we thought. It was still a decent game. We all played the game for what it was. Now, we as a community knew what to expect from D2. Unfortunately, Bungie has failed to deliver a game that measured up to the lie we excepted that was D1. This, I think broke the community’s back. It’s one thing to not deliver what was promised with a decent game anyway but to force players to buy a “full DLC” ( by Bungie standards) as though it was a full equal to the lie which Destiny 1 was. Is down right unacceptable. Gamers always get their hopes and dreams up. (Anyone who’s said they don’t is lying to themselves. We all have hopes / ideals for games) To be disappointed by D1 was a sad acceptance but the absolute destain that Bungie clearly has for its community is insulting. Console gamers haven’t had a stand alone game that we’ve all wanted and to be told and promised that game by Bungie for them to turn it all into a lie, slap to your face, $ making scheme product (D2 and the overall series) that clearly we’d eat up with open arms because we accepted the failure of D1 is a betrayal of the highest imo in the gaming industry. -blam!- eververse. Bungie itself doesn’t deserve their short or long term money. They betrayed this community. Not just failed it but betrayed the communities trust in Bungie to right the ship. Yet, they preyed upon that trust for a quick buck. No other company could pull this off. WoW couldn’t do this to their community and survive. It’s an unacceptable crime against the gaming community. I say all this while still playing the game at least a few hours a day. I say these things because it’s how I feel about Bungie. I’ve accepted that the dream is over. I’ve managed to find things in the game to enjoy. Which i do thank Bungie for. Yet I can’t help but think what this game could’ve been. Even now in something that is so clearly a bare minimum game. It has some appeal. Which infuriates me so much. Just tells me that I too had high hopes yet have settled for the bare minimum. I have accepted Bungie and have come to terms with there business ethics.
