No spoilers, wish me luck... I'll update this with my thoughts afterwards.
Edit 1 (SPOILERS!!!): Alright, I just got home.... I LOVED it!!! I can see why people were complaining about the use of humor and the fan service but I was fangirling all the way through!! I love Starwars and to me this was an amazing movie!! Ok fangirl aside, I loved the contrast and use of the reds, whites and blacks throughout it as it made some spectacular scenes... Sure, there was a fair amount of fan service....ok, a lot but I loved it! I mean, I am a fan after all XD Plus, at the start when BB8 (BB8? BB-8?) was trying to fix the ship and decided to smash his head into it to stop the sparks it gave the people like me who live off of saying bad puns and annoying everyone around us the chance to say, 'Well, he certainly used his HEAD there!' XD Lucasfilm, your efforts did not go unnoticed there... However, the part where Ben and Ray's minds connected when he had no shirt on felt kinda, well.... awkward... I mean, I know that's what they were going for but it (to me) kinda felt like something out of a fan story... like, I enjoy fan service but that was just a little too much... however, it was still enjoyable. Anyway, my brain is still trying to grasp everything I just saw (it's not exactly a short movie) so I'll probably edit this more later when I've digested it more... And I mean, we still have no idea where Snoke came from...unless I'm stupid and it was in the movie, in which case please let me know...
Edit 2: Ok so, a lot of people are thinking that Ben and Ray are going to 'get together' in a future movie now and that Fin and that other chick (I forget her name, sorry) will also 'get together'... thoughts? I'm not sure myself, but I can't lie...if it DOES happen....you will hear no complaints from me XD
Edit 3: After some research...it turns out that Rey is 19 (makes sense) and Ben is... 29-30 years freakin old!! He's basically 10-11 years older than her!
Edit 4: I agree with Fi Ho Ho Ho now after some more thought... if anything, it will be more of a student-mentor relationship, this being supported by the fact that Ben knows much more than she does about the force and now that Luke is gone she is without a teacher. And IF it is a romantic relationship, then it would be the reverse of Anakin and Padme's relationship.

I thought it was ok: Some shit didn’t make sense Subpar character development Not enough lightsaber battles
I was surprised the kid jokes didn’t bother me and I actually enjoyed most of them. Like Chewbacca and those stupid bird things
Dabomb555KD35により編集済み: 12/28/2017 1:11:02 AMI wasn't a fan of it. Once you get past the nostalgia of a new Star Wars movie you relieve how bad it is. The bad jokes everywhere were uncalled for. Also Luke had some of the worst character writing I have ever seen. They ruined his character. The final battle is a lackluster hoth rip off. They ruined the brand just like EA.

8 通の返信I loved it as well. The movie wasn't as black-and-white as previous iterations of the series. In episode IV, V, and VI, you can tell who was the good guy and who was the bad guy. Same in I, II, and III, but for III, it showed how being "too good" may actually be a bad thing. I loved how this movie (minus the Yoda part, that one just felt like fan filler) addressed that "light cannot exist without dark" ideology that was seen not only in the now-canon part of the series, but also in the expanded universe from the books and video games. The movie addressed the existence of "gray jedi", jedis that don't abide by the code, but rather, walk the fine line between light and dark. I fell in love with that part, especially with how attacking a small crack in the armor can ultimately destroy the armor (in the case of Ben's development in the story). Though, this help through the force bond with Rey made it better. Ben being shirtless was definitely awkward, but the awkward interaction between Rey and Ben made it hilarious and relatable. The Last Jedi wasn't a bad movie, like many people on this forum think. Hell, even Metacritic gave it a pretty good review, with the exception of users. I don't really take user reviews seriously at all, because the last time I did, Sharknado was treated as a serious movie rather than one that was meant to be funny. I want there to be an expansion on gray jedi. It isn't overly known about them, but to know that they exist and that they play a big role in the Star Wars universe is something I see potential in. I also like the end in how they made tribute to Carrie Fisher's passing. It was sweet, though, I would like to see how they address that in the next movie. I wonder if they'll use CGI, or do a backstory that Leia passed in the time between the movies.

Fan Service? Is that Kylo bit considered fan service? I thought it was two thirds good, suffice to say I would’ve changed a lot of things, especially with that casino bit or how Leia’s thing concluded or just how they handled new characters. But overall, I liked the movie.
