Bungie's reaction: Still locking base game content behind DLC
The link above details Bungie's ongoing indifference as they react to the outcry from honest customers as their base game is locked behind DLC.
Bungie has said they will continue to lock portions of the base games content even after the outcry across all social media.
I cannot believe Bungie, they are told by thousands what they are doing wrong, yet they persist in dragging their own company name though the dirt. This is just bad business practice. RIP Bungie.
Why would anyone pay money to a company that steals from them? TOOLS
To the people who clearly cannot read who post here: I said people should get what they paid for in the first place no more no less. I never asked for free content just the content I paid for in the first place. Clearly the definition of freeloading must have changed if paying for a game and expecting to keep what I paid for is freeloading.

2 通の返信Did you really think for one minute that they would allow you to play all end game content without purchasing a DLC. If you did. You are either really stupid or in denial. Either fork up the cash to play the end game or just quit all together.

14 通の返信I will never agree with locking content behind dlcs but you agreed to their ToS which informs you that they can change and take away whatever they want. Sorry dude. With all the fixing that is needed they are gonna need the money.

9 通の返信So because you decided to not purchase the DLC then all of the content that we payed for in the DLC should be kept at your power level? No increase? So now we must cater the game to the PC player now because they had a late start? I was raiding regularly mid week two of the raid availability, finished the prestige raid the first weekend all with LFG crews. The prestige raid is coming back to base game owners and the only prestige that will not be available outside of DLC owners is the nightfall. Get over it and either pay for the DLC or stop complaining, you sound like a little ten year old who didn’t get his way!

Bungie is giving back what you paid for. You get to play all of the content that was originally in the game. You don't get to play the new maps so when weekly events are on those maps you can't play them. That's reasonable and shows an effort by the company to actually meet you rather than ignoring your outcry. Expecting anything more than that is unreasonable.

I wouldn’t expect Bungie to make the same misstep on the next DLC so I wouldn’t expect hand outs in a few months but I do expect to see kids crying about this again. I’ll make sure to stock up on popcorn for when I watch that amazing after school special, “As the Forum Turns”. I

12 通の返信your -blam!-ing outcry ruined the game for people who actual paid and are willing to pay for the DLC becuase we love the game, go to hell with your shit they already took away prestige raid from HONEST payers who are happy with what they were getting because we have a choice to pay or not. very few games has a DLC as big as the one provided by Destiny 2, you can count them in one hand.

4 通の返信Uh....this is nothing new bruh, when Dark Below, House of Wolves, and every other expansion came out and the Nightfall map that week was from and expansion you didn't buy...guess what? You didn't get to play that week. This is a live, ever evolving game, that in the end will require to purchase all content if you intend to continually play it. Plain and simple.

This was standard in D1. There never was a Prestige Nightfall though. That makes sense to bump that up. That under belly thing is the new “Prestige Raid” if you will. Typically Iron Banner will get the bump along with any other live events. It’s just the way it was, but those were different times. I never had to deal with this because D1 was baddass and I played it all the time and owned every expansion. I own both expansions for D2 and uninstalled it on Dec 1. They are 4 mos in and already have done 2 MAJOR redactions! That’s why I be like 👋🏼 Felecia, I’ll pop in later on and check things out if & when you get your shit together. 👉🏼 Destiny 1 👈🏼

I'm not going to defend Bungie on some of the points others have made. Like the Acrius strike being content locked and the base raid being raised to a higher power. But I will say, bumping "prestige" modes of endgame content to the latest power cap seems pretty logical. It makes it so that you can do all of these "hard mode" activities regardless of the game's progression. They are simply getting ahead of the game and making "max level" versions of endgame content now rather than wait until the last dlc has been released and exhausted. Like they did in Destiny 1 with the old raids. They all got endgame versions. That's what Bungie is doing with "prestige" modes, keeping them relevant every expansion so that there is always more to do. Leave the normal versions of the content as is. Besides, let's be honest, prestige modes haven't really had much of a rewarding feeling to begin with...

1 返信They're doing more to remedy this problem than they ever did in Destiny 1. If you'd been here during that era, you'd have expected it to end without this update. Now they're changing the policy, and that's great.
