You do realize public events even the heroics or especially the heroics only take around 1-3 minutes to complete... Additionally if you kill the rare event spawn you get another 3 tokens. Why should you be rewarded heavily for so little and so easily repeat-able... they grant a "chance" to drop rare, legend and a small chance for exotic. Legend mens 3+ legend shards and exotic drop increases with the buffs available in the game after ther 12th tomorrow. To answer your question: An event grants experience and it has a larger chance to drop better rewards but it isnt guaranteed, I do not know when this mentality began to grow so bad but i remember back when i played Halo i didnt expect a reward for wiping my ass... heck i was perfectly content playing with friends and having fun... Now i see people who think trolling is a trend and try to keep it that way by forcefully upvoting eachother even if its not unique but just a poor copy paste.... If rewards is what gets you playing then go elsewhere, i know i will be downvoted for liking this game which is odd but its understandable as they fear its a threat to their troll trend thats been running on multiple games lately... note: imagine if every 2nd or 3rd event gave exotics... that would be catering to your wish however by then you would change 180 degree's saying there is not enough loot or its too easy to get. remember to think about what you want and its consequence.
