I have a few questions for you...
Where were you when I was farming planet materials for hours just to upgrade a gun or two or actually make my exotic feel like it was supposed to?
Where were you when we got nothing but shards and energy in the raid, cheesed it like crazy, and had no changes on hard mode to be seen except severely putting 29s at a large damage disadvantage and no respawns? Friendly reminder if you didn't get a piece of gear you had to wait until the next week to progress...
Where were you when Thorn reigned king as the only way an average or even good player could possibly compete in crucible for more than half a -blam!-ing year with no changes!?
Where were you when there was a "heavy ammo drought" where no one had synths since they took them off Xur very purposefully and we had to empty out our weapons entirely to glitch heavy just to shoot down the most basic designed raid boss in history (Crota) in a raid where again everyone cheesed every single section and there was a total of 1 new hard mode mechanic?
Where were you when they decided no more small expansions and that they were going to call Festival of The Lost and things that were designed to make more silver "new content funded by silver"? This lasted an entire year until RoI.
Gtfo out if you think D2 is much worse. Yeah maybe it's worse than Age of Triumph, their swan song where they brought everything in three years together. But it sure as hell isn't worse than the low points of Destiny 1 where we all continued chugging on until the next expansion anyway. They had time to learn yes but a team was building this game while D1 was still in progress. Mind you most of the changes again came from player feedback on these forums (not all but most). So stop giving shit feedback. They know the important things we want already believe me.
Where were you when I was farming planet materials for hours just to upgrade a gun or two or actually make my exotic feel like it was supposed to?
I was there. And it sucked pretty hard. At least there was an actual reason to go explore a little bit?
Where were you when we got nothing but shards and energy in the raid, cheesed it like crazy, and had no changes on hard mode to be seen except severely putting 29s at a large damage disadvantage and no respawns? Friendly reminder if you didn't get a piece of gear you had to wait until the next week to progress...
I was there. Watching as the Templar floated off the edge. Before Atheon got baby bumpers along the perimeter of his platform. Before Mithoclast got nerfed, and when Preydeath's was actually good. Also, you weren't limited to 1 run per week. You could do up 3x the same class for triple the shards+energy.
Where were you when Thorn reigned king as the only way an average or even good player could possibly compete in crucible for more than half a -blam!-ing year with no changes!?
On Red Death before it was cool.
Riding Icebreaker. But I digress... Comparing vanilla to vanilla, they're equally as bad. Hell in 2, you don't even need Nightfall or raid to cap (which I guess could be viewed as a net positive because -blam!- the timers and bullshit loot tables). You can cap off flashpoints and welfare drops from Hawthorne.

I agree. Its a case where people try to reminisce of the 'good ol days', but the good ol days weren't any better. People do it outside destiny as well. My opinion is not popular, but I enjoy not grinding/farming, and just jumping into the crucible with decent gear.

Bump. Too many people forget things like how the vex mythoclast would melt an entire enemy team. And so now they bitch about having to use teamwork to win a team based game. Too many people forget that if you were even one piece of gear away from level 30, you were just as effective as the other 29 that needed 3. And that means you both took at least 25% more damage (from what I recall) and dealt only 75% as much as a level 30. You have no idea how glad I am that system is gone. Too many people forget what a cruddy time it actually was trying to get the overpowered for PvE weapons like gjallarhorn. Oh? You did 3 nightfall’s, 3 raids on heroic difficulty, and you didn’t get one? Shame really, exotic weapon kiosks didn’t exist until TTK. Better luck next week. Or you know. Pray xur will sell it again. Overall, I think that D2 offers a much preferred experience to the first game in terms of progression. What I feel most people overlook though, is that it’s no longer about trying to grind for the best weapons and exotics anymore. It’s more about making as many sets to try and handle as many situations as optimal as possible. And different people are going to have different answers for that. And it’s OK.
Where were you when Thorn reigned king as the only way an average or even good player could possibly compete in crucible for more than half a -blam!-ing year with no changes!?
Are you kidding? I was using the fvck out of the Thorn and had a LOT of fun with it!! But, I was also playing D1 and having fun!
Gtfo out if you think D2 is much worse.
Naw, not yet. You don't get to make that decision for me or for anyone else. Like an idiot, I pre-ordered the whole thing, and I'll play what I paid for (foolishly admittedly). I'm not having the kind of fun I had with D2, and that's too bad. But, I'll play as much as I can deal with, then I'll "Gtfo" happily. Until then, the forums are nice distraction from the disappointment that D2 is.

If you think D2 is much better than D1 then I can only summise that (A) you weren’t a real Destiny 1 player and were probably one of the first batch of bundle babies; or (B) Your attempt at satire has failed.

5 通の返信For the 10,000th time... Under no circumstances should Destiny 2 be compared to the first year of the franchise launch. Destiny 2 should have taken the feedback and improvements that made D1 good as a baseline, and built on it. That's not what happened, and that's THE point.

Lokey0024により編集済み: 11/15/2017 8:37:32 PMIt's about the money. You think all the stuff they announced today wasnt finished months ago? What if Bungie sold D2 for $99.99, like they should? Their numbers would be crap because status quo is 60$. AAA gaming markets are in a very dark place right now. Could be worse tho. Star Citizen kickstarters been waiting 5 years for anything. But if it pans out, just like i predict D2 year 2 will, it's worth the wait.

CatManにより編集済み: 11/15/2017 8:37:39 PMEdit:
Everyone is out here acting like Destiny 1 was a gift from God
It really wasn't, but what players are saying is AoT is what D2 should have been x100. With a dab if TTK and good balance. Anyone who has time, money, and patience to wait three year for D2 to be as good as AoT is right now? Should be medicated. Destiny felt like a long experiment. One dlc didn't roll smooth with the next, and balance only got worse. Currently Destiny is funner than D2 is what Everyone is saying.....Think about why people are saying that, and why D2 isn't up to par like AoT is right now.

I agree that D1 had it's share of problems. I think our problem is just that D2 no longer feels like a Destiny game. Many core mechanics and systems we enjoyed (enjoyed for the most part) were altered in ways we now find unfamiliar and... wrong I guess. Either way, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's not like you can say they are wrong.

evlwarhedにより編集済み: 11/15/2017 8:50:23 PMD1 was still better. I ran a total of 12 through campaign and enjoyed every one. I played the thorn etc. meta without one. I sucked at that time, a green could kill me, lol. Never once cried for nerfs. Didn't do a lot of raiding, but the actual reason was there wasn't anything eating at me to get. VoG was onlyvraid with stuff I wanted. Finally got vex, verdict etc. month later they were rendered useless( that would b on bungie, not destiny) I personally didn't care for ttk RoI was the step in right direction, but apparently the players were the only ones that seen it. Sobtgey scrapped it all for the D2- rise of the cash cow II I'm sorry, I've listened and thought about all the arguments between D1 and 2. I wasn't a so called hardcore raider etc. but I did all I could. No matter what point of D1 I was in, I logged on and played for hours dam near every day. D2 couldn't even get me past Titan milestone yesterday before I logged. Outside of prettier colors( cause we all think the pretty butterflies are so important) and the D2 stamp; it's nothing like destiny. They basically made this shiat show, then stuck a destiny tag on it, and then sold it as the best thing since buttered bread.

We were grinding, practicing, adapting. We learned the limits of every skill and didn't whine in the forums about things being "too hard". We didn't demand the game was changed based on our personal failures. In short? We were busy having fun, and didn't stop for 3 years. D2 lasted 2 months for many of us.

As an FYI I had gotten tired of and left D1 shortly after TTK dropped. I ended up in D2 because a friend wanted someone to play the new game with. I thought, well Bungie has had alot of time. Surely they learned from the past mistakes so I bought the base D2 game. (Glad I did not sink any money into DLC). I even spent the first month quiet to experience the entire game and see how Bungie treated their players, improved anything, etc etc. Some things in D2 seem to be improvements. But there was so much cut out, and it is the same old bait and switch, you need to buy the DLCs to get the entire thing, etc. etc D2 is a regression from even TTK, let alone RoI which I never experienced. I do not want D2 the same as D1, but expect there to be much more added back in for base features such as better vault management, improved loot system for higher end activities, lore put back in the game, PvP choice ... there are elements missing that there really is absolutely no excuse for. And to top it off, watching Bungie leave players hanging this faction rally whose Guardians were locked into the faction from the last rally was pretty disgusting. BungHelp 5 posted the first day, yes we see the problem, we will look into it... And never hear a single peep about it ever again. Bungie could have simply stated , "it is too difficult to fix at this time. You will just have to be pledged how you are pledged." Nope, did not even say that. players were still waiting up to the last day to hear something, anything, and yet nothing... I am not looking for D2 to be D1. I am expecting it to be a complete game, which it currently is not. I was expecting the dev to at least be interested in fixing actual problems, communicating wiht their players, and not being general asshats. Sadly i had forgotten what an idiot and actual asshat Luke Smith is. And with that, I won't be buying the DLC, which will lock me out of the game as we know it will from past experience.

3 通の返信The day 1 veterans understand that destiny was bad when it came out and really only improved in TTK expansion. What many people are angry about are the unneeded changes done, the overall ability/super/ class nerfs, static rolls, loss of many activities for seemingly no reason (custom games and heroic strikes for example), and many other changes that make me wonder whether this is a sequel or regression.

2 通の返信Traxにより編集済み: 11/15/2017 8:51:13 PMId never go back to D1. Mainly because it's been played out and I prefer destiny on PC now. I didn't start playing D1 until TKK and I like D2. There is potential there, but the problem is it feels like D2 went backwards from where D1 ended. Why the horrible token system, fixed rolls, lack of meaningful exotics, and crap RNG. Each vendor should have a daily/weekly rotation of items (1 weapon and 1 armor) you can buy for legendary shards. Keep your token system but merge the D1 system with the D2. Bring back multiple variants of each weapon. You don't have to have a complete free for all on weapon rolls but it's so boring seeing the 10th dupe. Or allow duplicates to be infused into the same weapon to change a weapon perk from a preselected set of perks.
