Two things I'd like to point out:
1. In a grimoird card for D1 it says that after the battle of Six Fronts, Radegast led a host of guardians and "pushed back the fallen to the Caspian Sea". So the city has to be somewhere relatively near the Caspian sea.
2. Has anyone looked at the signs in the EDZ and figured out what language they are? If we figure that out we can get a general idea of the area the EDZ is in.

Can't say I've ever seen that one. The only host I've seen mentioned along with the Caspian Sea was Jagi, and that was his host was seen heading south from the Cosmodrome towards the Caspian. Also that they got into a fight east of the Caspian Sea. We know from Felwinter that the Last City is not near the Cosmodrome
His maps and outposts show the risen Exo roamed free from the Aral Seas to an eastern border known as Citan’s Ridge (Open Citan 01-A, Citan’s Ridge 01-A) before taking the Oath. There is no evidence of human enclaves or encampments within this area, nor survivors within the Cosmodrome walls
The card, or item description(I can't remember which one), explains that Radegast and Jagi led their respective hosts. My memory must be failing me because I thought their starting point was the city, not the cosmodrome. Are you sure it said that? My other point still stands. If we can figure out the language, we can figure out the region. It's funny that you referenced those specific cards. I was just reading through them a few weeks ago trying to figure out where the cosmodrome is located. It turns out, judging from that grimoire card, that Felwinter's Peak is located somewhere between the Aral Seas and Citans ridge. The Aral Seas are, funnily enough, close to the Caspian Sea. The Aral Seas are located in modern day Kazakhstan, which is the country just south of Russia. Since the plaguelands can be seen from Felwinter's Peak, and the cosmodrome is connected the plaguelands, we know that the cosmodrome is also located in Kazakhstan. This complicates things for two reasons. One, the game specifically tells you that the cosmodrome is in Old Russia. So Bungie screwed up. We can, if we want to come up with our own explanation, attribute this error to the Collapse and the dark ages destroying any sense of geography among the survivors. The people of the city probably knew the general location of Russia so just labeled everything in Southern Asia "Old Russia". Secondly, taking a quick glance on google will inform you that Kazakhstan is not snowy. At all. It's a hot desert with almost no mountains in the area near the Aral Seas. Northern Kazakhstan can get snowy in the winter, but the Aral Seas are in southern Kazakhstan. Soooo... climate change?

I think I know what you refer to.
At Six Fronts, two Firebreak commanders led a sortie beyond the walls. They reclaimed five miles of scorched land from the Fallen.
Trostland appears to be in Switzerland, as there are two signs giving distances. One is 5 Graubunder, the other is 8 Zervreilahorn. Both of these are locations in Switzerland. The language used on signs appears to be German, such as Betreten verboten! The problem with EDZ though is that Hawthorne says she flew over the sea when we first meet her. She also tells us that we are going a long way from where she found us outside the Last City.

We know from Felwinter that there were no human enclaves/settlements in the area he held when he was a Warlord, which covered the Aral Sea, and that there were no survivors within the Cosmodrome. I was wrong about the Sea, what she says is that she flew over the Ocean when she heard about the attack on the City, bringing supplies which she left in Soujourner's Camp. Supplies she asks us to recover as they could now be used for the Farm.

http://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/mark-of-jagis-host?highlight=Caspian Radegast started the Iron Lords, nothing to do with Jagi. There was another, Holborns Host, but they explored Mars. As far as Felwinters Peak. The frustrating part of geography with destiny is it is vague. Citans ridge is unknown, so the area of land his peak could be in is unknown, potentially huge. You can see what looks to be the plaguelands from the Iron Temple, but what part of the plaguelands? Nothing ever defines the square area of the cosmodrome or the plaguelands. All we see in game is a short section of shared wall. In game you can look to the horizon as far as you can see and not see the rest of the wall. Both could be huge, stretching for hundreds of square miles. The real life cosmodrome (Baikonur) is about 10,000 sq miles in size. So without the context of size or geographic landmark, it's impossible to guess. As far as the snow, destiny is set in a universe where the moon has gravity and people can breath on Venus. Snow in parts of old Russia isn't stretching any boundaries, even if it's just artistic purposes. I do wish bungie would just identify the last city location, but there really isn't enough to say to date

I wasn't saying Jagi started the Iron Lords. There is an item description that states that both Jagi and Radegast led hosts after six fronts to purge the fallen. Yes, I realize that the vague descriptions can mean anything. But since the Aral Seas are in southern Kazakhstan, and we are given an eastern and western border, but not a northern or southern border, it can be deduced that Old Russia is not in Russia. I don't think Felwinter roamed across half a country. The most likely candidates are Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Though you are correct about certainty. These are only guesses based off probability, not definitive facts. Who knows, maybe Felwinter did roam across an entire country.

I was saying, there is no card/item about radegast leading any host vs the fallen. All D1 radegast mentions: http://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/lord-radegast?highlight=Radegast There was an item about Jagis host, and then one about Holborns host. I think you are remembering this card: http://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/ghost-fragment-titan?highlight=Caspian But that is holborn talking about Jagi. But none include Radegast. As far as Felwinter, we have a real life western border, a made up eastern, and no known north or south. I'm more agreeing than disagreeing. But geography in Destiny sucks for locating anything (as evidenced by this thread :) )

Yeah, your right about me confusing the hosts. I remember watching a byf video on that subject way back in year 1(maybe even in vanilla), before I actually read the grimoire. It's been embedded in my mind since then that Radegast and Jagi led hosts from the city and died. I tried searching up that video and the grimoire cards/items but have found nothing. It's like they never existed. I don't know if I made it up one day and remembered it as fact or if someone misinformed me, but I guess your right. Side note: Something I find really interesting is that "Citan's Ridge" is the eastern border of Felwinter's territory. Citan is the warlord Felwinter killed. This explains why Felwinter and Citan knew each other well. Haffoc made an interesting point. He said that Hawthorne stated that she "flew across the ocean" to help us. The only way this makes sense while keeping the city in the Old World(Asia, Europe, and Africa) is if she flew across the Indian Ocean. This gives credence to the "city is in Nepal" theory.
