Seeing the massive lack of recovery gear for hunters, and the undeniably underpowered class ability they get, I think this would be a good start to fixing the class.
Health recovery initiating when you dodge rather than having to wait for your recovery cool down means that hunters can play a hit and run style more effectively and can spend more time fighting than hiding and waiting for health to come back. It also means we won't have to give up all of our stats just to achieve a meager 5-6 recovery max.
It would also be nice if dodge reloaded team mate weapons or melee based on the chosen perk, rather than just your own.

3 通の返信I think that Devour (grenade eating) is not comparable to dodge in any way. It is not the class ability. It is also a very possible to fight multi teams with. Warlocks also have a rift ability (with a 60 second cooldown) If you stack your heals right you can get a heal every 30 seconds. A hunter dodge is very close to that at 24 seconds. Warlocks also have the health dive option that is always available as a dawnblade. I don't know if recovery would break dodge but it would be a step in the right direction.

Recovery gear exists. As for the class ability, regen every 19 secs would break the precious power facade that Bungie is trying to create....but maybe a flat return is a better idea, since dodging isn't really as snappy as it should be.

It Bungie keeps ammo the way it's been, I would rather keep the dodges the way they are and in addition allow hunters to drop kinetic or special ammo for Their team. It would only benefit pve and have no real effect in pvp so how could you complain about this lol

That would at least make it feel like you're avoiding damage even though dodging really doesn't make you that much harder to hit. Also a weapon handling buff would be nice to compliment it.

5 通の返信Every kill in Crucible should start health regen, nothing is worse when you kill 1 player, just to get rushed by 2 other players where yor health is below 20%. In this broken meta, this is the easiest fix that can improve PvP faster than anything. More serious changes would take too much time.

5 通の返信Wow. First off, seems like a lot of people have been unable to deal with short invisibility timers with the Nightstalker and heavy ammo. I can't tell you how many times I've killed hunters in stealth, all I know is it's much, Much more often than they've killed me. Must be a halo conditioned thing reinforced by the fallen and taken minotaurs.. I just spot it immedietly most of the time. Anyways. After playing quite a bit as my hunter(secondary character), I do agree that it would be nice for dodge to have some small added utility, preferably something for a group buff, since as dodge exists now it's not beneficial to the group at all. You know, past making the hunter more ffective as a solo unit. I think they should go one step further. One dodge should jump health recovery, the other should provide a small agility buff for a period of time. Make the benefit range maybe around the same size as the titan melee buff range. Other than that, I've actually started to get the hang of timing in both pve and pvp for using dodge to simply get out of the way. It doesn't give you much distance, but if you are mindful of your cover usage, you can actually duck out of LOS if you're losing an engagement if you do it soon enough, assuming lag comp isn't heavy int he current game. And they don't chuck a grenade after you :P

8 通の返信I regularly play every single class and I notice a very clear difference in the usefulness of class abilities. While dodge is not a bad class ability, it is certainly not quite as effective as Titan's barrier or Warlock's rift. Both the Titan and Warlock class abilities provide massive team and individual advantages while shadestep simply provides a large individual advantage. I don't think it's a bad ability, but it is by far the most underwhelming and lackluster of the class abilities.

Yeah, I try to get my resilience and/or recovery as high as I can and it goes basically nowhere... hunters need more options for increasing these stats, because no matter what I do it seems like I always have super high mobility when I want to trade off for more of the other 2.

Drops random ammos pack for team mates 2. Drops 1-2 orbs of light per team mate. 3. Grants armor and mobility buff for a short time to team mates 4.practice makes perfect perk for a short time to team members . This way hunters will get buffed but only in a way to support the team.

10 通の返信Maybe not trigger health regen but add pseudo I frames. Instead of being literally immune to damage give the dodge a weak over shield that lasts only for the split second of the dodge. Would spawn some interesting gameplay moments. Learning to dodge at the right time to negate for example, one mida body shot. An overshield that lasts for only a split second that blocks 40 damage sounds pretty balanced to me.

5 通の返信Yes, you have to wait for your health to regen. But you just got out of dying, I think having to wait for your health to regen is more than reasonable. I would be fine with this if: - the cooldown was changed to about two minutes - Nightstalkers can no longer go invisible when dodging
