spankymebottomにより編集済み: 10/5/2017 8:14:05 PMTimers would only work for scoreboards and/or better rewards. If you tie it to better rewards I suggest displaying how much your time added to reward bonus or chance e.g. 25% NF Complete + 15%Timer Bonus = 40% Chance for an exotic/Legendary. Absent of that, there is no point. IMO, they should just bring back kick to orbit instead of timer. Or...combine both for phat lewtz.

It wouldn't be so bad if the nightfall didn't just end when the timer was up. I would be fine with having the timer run out and just get a token or two or just regular strike loot at the end. Regardless of the time it takes you're still going through a difficult activity and completing it, you should still get something instead of having wasted your time and have to restart. Before anyone says something like "if you lose you shouldn't get a reward". You can get exotics just from touching a public event and losing crucible matches and practically doing nothing, so that really doesn't apply here because Destiny is all about participation trophies.

I actually like the timers. They make it so people do the activity. I know people like to look back on d1 with rose colored glasses, but a major complaint during d1 was how people would bs doing nightfalls, strikes, etc., extending the time of those activities for no reason. That was the reason bungie put the timer in the nightfall in d1 in the first place. Also, i find it funny people are complaining they have to skip things to finish in time, when that's what most would do in d1. They would speed past things to finish as fast as possible & just get the loot, but now cause they have to, it's a problem? lol

5 通の返信No single person likes this timers... why would you want an artificial cut off .... "Game Over" type of gaming was in the 80's and 90's..... no one wants this. Timers are cheap and non creative and no fun at all. People want to have fun and play the game.... why prevent the majority of users enjoying the game ?

pacificduneにより編集済み: 10/5/2017 7:32:48 PMI like the time limits. They add challenge and excitement. There are plenty of activities that don’t have them, and there is no exclusive gear locked behind them. I have voted accordingly.

3 通の返信Why not just make the timer for prestige mode only? Isn't that for people who want an extra challenge anyway?

Nightfalls in D1 were way too easy. From Y2 onwards, I would regularly solo or duo them and complete them with hardly any effort at all- they became trivial. In D2, with the timer, they actually give me a sense of accomplishment when I beat them again. Sometimes it takes multiple tries! Is the timer a perfect solution? I don't know. But its /wayyy/ better than Nightfalls were in Y2 and Y3 of Destiny 1, because its like the only content in the game (other than the raid) that currently feels like a satisfying challenge to complete. If they can come up with some other way to keep them difficult and remove the time, then fine, but if they make them trivial again like they were in D1, I will be pissed.

I wasn't a fan of the d1 nightfall because it seemed like everything could one shot you, which made me sit in the back and slowly pick enemies off. The d2 timer adds difficulty, but its not a fun difficulty. Just as I thought in d1, nightfall should make it harder by adding tons of more enemies, not by having them one shot you or this annoying timer.

It is not the timers it is the stress that they cause that we don't like we have enough stress and time limits in our day to day lives. Either way timer or no timer none of the strikes are fun enough to replay more than 3 times.

3 通の返信In D1 everybody ran past everything, in order to hit the boss ASAP, so Bungie took that and implemented the timers in D2. Now folks complain because Bungie actually installed a timer.

Quiet_Bushiにより編集済み: 10/5/2017 5:28:22 PMMeh. Timers were a pain in the a** only in the first attempts to Nightfall. When you understand the mechanism, they become simple as Strikes or other activities. Of course, this is for who can organize a team with three other Guardians. For example, for this week Nightfall, me and my Clanmates did in this way: we did a first try with the only purpose to find many Oracles as possible and see where enemies and Majors had shields. We arrived the Boss with only 3-4 minutes and of course we lost. Nothing strange, we knew it. Then we did a second try with a chosed Equip for everyone, with the path that we chosed, where to skip, where kill everyone or just the majors... and bum. Second try, we did it. Same thing for the Weapons Deliver quest, the one after the Raid for the Exotic Shotgun... So, timers are not a problem after all. THe problem is probably the mindset of people. I think the only problem with Nightfalls is the Reward. There is no reason to do a Nightfall more then one in a week, just to get the Power Engram from Zavala.

I made it through about 3/4 of the way through solo and and lost from the timers. I almost crushed my controller. I’m not saying it’s a horrible idea for the timers but for solo players it kinda feels like your being forced into a social game and I believe most guardians if I read correctly are solo players. That being said, it might be because some people are shy or afraid of failure in public. People like me for the most part just don’t have the time to F around looking for a fire team when you work 14 hours a day and have 3 kids. I love this game and would love to complete at least one nightfall but if the timers have to stay and I just can’t get it done solo, then it is what it is lmao. In the end it is just a game and not a religion.

Imo using timers to the extent they are used in this game shows that bungie are struggling for ideas, timers have been used in raids before but in small doses, i.e time to dps Atheon, 3 mins to kill death singer but now it's just over kill with timers. Its a lazy and unimaginative development decision. Imo they just ran out of ideas and just thought 'I know,we will use what we used in the challenge modes in D1, they kinda worked'

1 返信I voted yes because I don't have trouble with it. That said; I under the struggle casual D2 players have with it. The bounty system and choice implemented in D1 RoI was a perfect balance. Want a challenge, grab the bounty, just want to complete a NF, just fly in and get it done.
-
1 返信The problem I have with the timer is that it doesn't add anything to the fun factor. It makes the Nightfall more difficult yes, but it doesn't make it any more fun, or any more rewarding. I don't have any fun, and I don't have a sense of accomplishment when I finish. Just a sense of relief that it's over. That's not how a video game should feel.

1 返信Over 4,500 votes is a LOT for the forums, I don't think Bungie should be brushing the 77% against timers off like it's just another ranting post. But they probably will because they don't have a plan B and it would cost money to make one. Just to be clear, it's not "too hard" for me, I have prestige NF completions so the normal isn't crazy. It's just not fun to race the clock and skip things. I'm in a fireteam with friends usually, I want to be able to goof a little and pause if needed. The clock makes the nightfall all business and I get enough of that at work already.

2 通の返信They need to put the original nightfall modifier back on. If all 3 members of a fireteam die you are returned to orbit and have to start all over.
