Wish I could offer more advice then whats already given. This week, spam grenades and be quick. Juicehead2004 and KiDJuNgLeFeVeR has it spot on in their suggestions.
I actually missed the first two weeks (didn't have the game). Last week I missed it by 11 seconds. But this week, we finished with 5:04 left. Unfortunately for some reason, didn't complete the quest for me. Not sure why, but I digress.
Not to highjack your thread, but anyone know of some hidden thing on this step (nightfall), or is it simply complete with 5 minutes left.
Examples being: members who have already completed need to have the gun on them when finishing (think I read this somewhere), need to be alive at the end (I was dead when he died).
I know that on a previous step (think is was the crucible), one of our fireteam members got dc'd on one of the matches, so that one didn't count.
Not too worried about getting the gun, but was just curious if I missed something.

A great trick to rush and save time for this week is have a hunter with the void sub class and the smoke grenade perk that turns you invisible. With the sped up cool down on your grenades, you can literally throw a new smoke grenade down and turn invisible at the same time as the invisibility is wearing off, giving you a practically endless invisibility loop. This is amazing and useful for the second section with the pressure plates with the flood of ads, as well as the section before the final boss where you have to hack the glowing spires to proceed through the next area. Just have the other two players focus on ads as the hunter advances through those points. I've made it to the final boss with two other players with 14 minutes remaining using this method.

If your buddies running the nightfall with you have the rat king already they need it equipped before you kill the boss. Or if one of them is at the same step you are you should be fine. This is all from experience in trying to help clan mates.
