Hosted a guided game last night...
...And it was an amazing experience. My clan mate and I were matched with someone from a completely different country that spoke no English. Despite communication being almost impossible, we finished with plenty of time left.
The fact this game can bring people together from all over the world is still astounding to me.
Edit: All this salt about it being matchmaking and every game has it is crazy. This is an activity where someone joins two people they do not know for the common goal of completing end game content. Sure MMOs may have in-game tools for this, but never a shooter as far as I know. I encourage everyone that is capable of guiding others to do so!

Tried to join a nightfall guided earlier. wait time was approx 12 mins... Surely this will improve ,unless guides get bad oth then its possible it won't then that really isn't good enough . It's a good idea.. we've all been in that strike where one player goes AWOL mid game and you drag his ass through the majority , Better option would have been a matchmaking option AND a guided option for those who are perticular about Thier random team members

I was a Seeker yesterday. 14 min Q time and I was the highest power in the lobby. I love the matchmaking, honestly, didn't have to get online to find people, didn't have to join a party on my PlayStation. Just hopped in, plugged my mic in, and away we went.

Matchmaking is something the players Want. Bungie promised it. I guess they get to walk away saying they delivered, like a Creepy Wish-granting genie or something. 'Be careful what you wiiiish for! Ahahahahahaha!'. I think the better argument is this: why is making friends the actual barrier to end-game content in Destiny 2? I'm not afraid to admit that I spend my free time playing online video games because I'm not a social butterfly. Not only is Destiny's community toxic as Hell, the only place to communicate with new people is on the forums--The headquarters of the toxic community. Why?

(As it should) He missed out on most of the cool content in D1 because of it. We invited him to the Clan, hoping to get him into more of the endgame!

THanks for sharing your experience. It makes me want to join a guided game. I need some help. As for those that are saying "This is standard matchmaking", I see a fundamental difference. Unlike matchmaking, this mode ensures you will have a guide with the intent of helping others finish the objective. To me matchmaking is just being joined to complete an objective with no expectation of being a leader, guide, or helper. I think it's a unique concept actually.

2 通の返信Did a few guided games when it came out. Found the waiting time to be excessive, but on the whole (apart from mic-less players causing restarts by not reading instructions) a positive experience.

4 通の返信I'm sure I'll join a clan at some point (free loot!), but I kind of look forward to finding random groups to join up with and meet a diverse group of gamers.

It's awesome you actually enjoyed. So many salty people around here. Granted I haven't even played this weeks NF (am going to tonight), but on my first try (I'm always a seeker as my clan is small and they're not on during late night hours I can play...) it was 2 ppl from same clan and they invited me to chat. Asked if I knew about weaknesses and other basics and we were on our way. Managed to beat it with some 3 mins to spare. Second NF was a bit more rush rush, but players I played with, while no mic was introduced (or they just didn't want to listen to my accent all the time all), were good sports and revived me when need to and were overall good sports. Both wait times were under 10mins, but it also is highly dependent on what time of day you play. All in all, I am hoping to go 3 for 3 tonight. I have heard some horror stories, but luckily it has been anything but for me so far.

2 通の返信Of course it went well. Not sure where the idea ever came from that any type of matchmaking would be such a disaster. I'd bet that many matchmade teams end up just as successfull if not more so than premades. "AFK squeaker trolls playing music in the background". Ok...as opposed to your premade team of 8 people in chat, a couple of them being true squeakers, the other two talking to their moms in the background off and on, all playing different activities, some in different games altogether, with some 20 yr old college kid with a 1.5 kd as their ringleader. Lots of premade teams out there exactly like that who are just as much a trainwreck if not more so..

I was guided on the weekend. It was a nice run. The guides where great. I was put under no NO pressure to be the best player ever. All that was asked was to do what was asked as best I could. This was much nicer than the lfgs. Still don't have rat king. But maybe I'll get good guides again and be able to compete it. Cheers

4 通の返信proof nightfall should have matchmaking , although this is slightly better than absolutely no matchmaking of destiny1 , having to wait 25 minutes for a guided game to start is ridiculous and reason why I haven't done any nightfalls this week

21 通の返信Bring people "together" lol. You couldn't understand the dude could you? Coming "together" to me implies getting to know each other, talking and having fun. You merely joined up with a dude who knew how to play a strike, GG on "bringing people together". What are the odds you'll be playing with the dude again? Coming together also implies continuation when it comes to grouping with people.
