This is exactly the situation I am in. The moderator who commented basically said the exact same thing. I am going to be super upset if I lose my original Bungie.net account.
I wonder if they could completely terminate the new bungie accounts associated with our xbox accounts, then maybe the recovery tool would recognize the old accounts we actually want.
I think it's a little ridiculous that bungie does not have any direct website support.
