Should a homosexual bar owner have to provide service to the Westborough Baptist church?
Can't wait to hear the justification here.

1 返信What's the deal with the cake ? Does it contain something in it like men's seed instead of milk. Not sure I understand why a gay cake and normal cake are different except two guys on the top of it instead of a man and women. A cake is a cake

1 返信I think the question should be if a Christian baker had to bake a gay wedding cake should the gay bartender give the christians drinks. The WBC isn't Christian they are a cult.
-
Baker typically owns his bakery whereas bartender is just an employee. If under the same circumstances, the gay employee would be fired for denying someone on no grounds whereas the baker would only suffer media response. Either way, if they feel more attached to their cause than their livelihood...by al means go ahead.

16 通の返信U wouldn't be asking a homosexual to give drinks if u are a Christian because we don't support homosexuals

1 返信Samanthaにより編集済み: 9/1/2017 8:07:32 PMI'm more amused that you used the Most Hated Family in America to back up your analogy. And yes, a homosexual bar would be obligated to serve them, though I highly doubt anybody from WBC would go to a gay bar except to cause trouble. If Shirley Phelps-Roper waltzes into a gay bar and minds her own business, good for her. And when that happens, I will finally be convinced that reality is an illusion and I'm actually in Ward 47 of a mental institute. Keep in mind as well that the court has protected their right to picket funerals in the past. And this is one of the most radical Christian groups on the planet, so this whole persecution complex eventually has to end somewhere. I'm sorry. I just don't see where this analogy is supposed to go.

2 通の返信While I don't agree with hate or discrimination, I do think a small private business owner should have the right to refuse service if it conflicts with their religious beliefs. In situations like these, it os possible to find someone else willing to provide service without significant effort.

2 通の返信The civil rights act of 1964 says you have to serve people no matter their race, gender, or religion. So yes, they would have to serve the church member. The outrage over the bakery was because sexual orientation wasn't protected by law so they were being treated as second class citizens. The free market responded and the bakery closed. Sounds like everything worked out fine to me.

14 通の返信Businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone. No shirt, no shoes, no service. This includes gays due to religious freedom laws.

3 通の返信Don't want to bake a cake for gays, because Jesus wouldn't like it. Sadly, this is the actual reasoning these idiots use.

Yes. Also a Jewish bakery has to cater to a -godwinslaw!- rally. As well, since business owners can be compelled by force to offer you their service or product in exchange for your money, then for the sake of equal rights between consumers and business owners it must be possible for business owners to compel you by force to offer your money for their service or product. If you can force a bakery to bake a cake for you, then a bakery must be able to force you to buy a cake from them. Let's say that you know there are gay decorators in your town, and you refuse to employ them to decorate your wedding. Based on the principle of forced association to prevent discrimination, the gay decorators should be able to force you to give them money to decorate your wedding rather than going to one of their competitors.

2 通の返信Fun experiment: go to Deerborne, MI. and ask any baker to make you an lgbt-themed wedding cake. Tell me the results. Materials needed: a car, a concealed carry weapon*, and a lot of confidence. * this one is important.

5 通の返信No no no. Silly Eccho, only Christians and whites have to cater to every/any group otherwise its discrimination, racism, sexism, etc. If you are a Muslim bakery you can discriminate all you want with no repercussions because its their "culture"!!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RgWIhYAtan4 I absolutely hated that shit when it happened. Either its ok for businesses to choose who they cater to or it isn't. Yet apparently the legal system can pick and choose who has rights and who doesn't based off of religious affiliation. -Christian bakery denies gay cake because its against religion. "These evil vile Christians are homophobes! Lets attack their business and force them to shut down unless they make the cake! They have no right not to serve someone!" -Multiple Muslim bakeries deny gay's their cakes because its against their religion. "Businesses should have the right to serve whoever they want! If its against their culture and religion we shouldn't force them as thats discrimination against the Muslims!" Either its one way or another people, otherwise you are picking and choosing what groups can and can't do something which is definitional discrimination.

2 通の返信The hipocrisy only goes one way here in Murica. If Dems or liberals dont like it the claim racism, sexism, hate speech. Liberals and Dems views are a cancer in this country.

31 通の返信I guess they can get married though I feel very sorry for the children they adopt after I read an article (I couldn't find the link) about how much same sex parenting hurt her in her childhood. Personally I know this isn't going to happen but I wish they were barred from adopting kids for the kids sake

2 通の返信Wat.exe has crashed Like, where do you even start with this thread and why does it have so many up votes? On a slightly related note, I remember someone called in on a Christian radio station and posed an apparently much debated question; "If Jesus owned a bakery and a gay couple came in requesting a cake, would he make it for them or refuse service?" and the pastor or ministers, whatever, completely went around the question.
