Gotta be the Witcher. Only thing I think even came close was Persona 5. But even then I feel like the Witcher is clearly the winner. Just my opinion though.
I've never played the witcher 3 but considering you have a set character doesn't that kinda disqualify it as an rpg?
I dunno I thought rpg's were about making your own character and stories instead of having them made for you.
Witcher 3 easily, it's set the bar for future rpg's no doubt. Witcher 3 is the reason I still haven't finished Fallout 4, the side quests just don't compare. I've been spoilt and can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077.
Soulsborne are RPG games? I mean sure you can play as a mage or warrior or sneaky guy but in the end you have to do a single thing no matter how many times you play through the game. More adventure than RPG IMO
I bought the Witcher 3 complete edition, and played through the story and both dlc's. I also completed all but 3 side quests. It's a fun game, but imo it's so overrated. Geralt is about as interesting as Aiden Pierce from watch dogs 1. The combat is nothing more than rolling and striking, with the occasional sign cast. Perhaps it's because prior to my purchase all i heard was that it'd forever change the way I see gaming, and stuff like that.
I said Bloodborne just because the story puts it above the other 2 I absolutely love. Seriously; putting Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and The Witcher 3 on this poll was evil.
