I don't get on Mic for the simple fact that people are just plain assholes. If I get on Mic to communicate, you always have that bastard who jumps on to say "lol shut the fųck up." A kid screaming, someone blaring music, someone who has game audio in their headset and it echoes the game, someone breathing heavily into it, and not to mention the people who get on mic, sound like they're morbidly obese, say "hello", eat some chips, and then proceed to say every character or gun in the game is broken and you're a shit player. Have you watched the toxic overwatch player videos on youtube? That's almost every game in comp. It's just so bad that being on Mic is more of a dare.
Ever get inside a public GTA lobby? You can't even hear yourself think. God forbid someone stop saying racial slurs for 5 minutes, jfc, I hate it. The only time I'm on Mic is with friends, I'm not interested in hearing someone in their 20s shout racial slurs and saying sandwich jokes.
And that's the problem. So many people don't want to talk to these elitists, these children, and these pathetic adults that it keeps good gamers off the mic.

Well I mean I play ranked siege all the time and I don't really get those players. Even the kids on there are if good pretty alright. Not saying it doesn't happen but it's not that much. Mostly just other simple gaming people who don't give a shit about arguing and play the match through serious enough take a loss or win and continue on. Destiny with raids I got the same results mostly.

Not even going into game chat because you're assuming everyone is an asshole is a poor excuse. 90% of the games I play in Overwatch comp , I am the only one with a mic. In a game like overwatch, communication is one of the most important things to have. I start all matches in game chat to see who else is talking, and if there's an asshole I just mute them. But it's when people don't even try to communicate is worse. If you have the means to talk but don't even try because you're scared, you hinder yourself and everyone else on your team. You shouldn't be forced to take insults, but if you choose not to even try to talk, you're the asshole.

The fact I play healer or tank I HAVE to be vocal with my team and I HAVE to have situational awareness and communication with my team. So no, don't get me started on this shit. I'm talking quickplay and arcade too. Everyone has to be a little savage on there. God, I feel bad for girls I meet in matches. Guys will literally screw up the match trying to get her number and flirting with her, then call her a shit player when she's running 4 gold medals. Get out of here with this bullshit.
