Please No!!! D2 Rolling Midnight Launch on 9/6!!!
Our friends at Bungie previously mentioned that there will be a rolling midnight release for D2 on September 6th. I know, this isn't breaking news....just in case...see source below.

What does this mean? D2 will be playable at midnight based on your timezone. Sooo, when I log in at midnight eastern U.S. time on the 6th to play my PSN downloaded version, guardians from Australia will have already been playing for 12 hours because it will be midnight in Australia 12 hours before it will be midnight in the eastern U.S. Similarly, a guardian in the U.K will have been playing 5 hours before due to the same time zone logic....etc, etc. Apparently, this same thing happened for D1, although I cannot confirm this, as I was not a Day 1 player.
A ROLLING MIDNIGHT RELEASE IS UNACCEPTABLE! I know, I know! They are doing this in part because of what happened to the servers at the ROI release. We all remember the server chaos that ensued there. I understand the logic of gradually introducing players to the server in order to make it less likely to crash. I get it. I do.
EVEN SO.... I'd rather the servers implode under the stress of ONE MILLION people trying to access them all at once then accept that even ONE person was able to access D2 even ONE SECOND before I can!!!!
BUNGIE, PLEASSSSE DON'T DO THIS!!

What...what does it matter? I don't care about getting any type of world firsts. Honestly, this is kinda good because any serious server issues will be being worked on before we even get our copy. Out of all the things you can complain about this should not be one of them.

3 通の返信Midnight launch? I like it… that essentially means I'll be able to sleep through the night, then go into the game store in the morning to pick up a pre-owned copy.

(besides the big time cry baby streamers trying to get their stream up before everyone else) Wanna know when I'm going to play D2? When I wake up, and it won't bother me a bit. If i get an error code, or a queue 20000000000 million people deep. I'm going to play something else. While you kids are all sweating over trying to get is as fast as humanly possible, and fighting through the queue, and crying at your error codes. I'm going to be sleeping.

1 返信So other people in different places should have to wait up to almost a day later to play (because in their time zones it will be going on September 7th) because you don't want them to play before you?
