Destiny vs Anthem

What's going on guys (This is Phantom429, my alt account though) I've stuck with Destiny for the long haul. From Day 1 of the Alpha up until now and I do plan on playing Destiny 2 regardless of the controversy, but after seeing the gameplay reveal for Anthem I can't help but think the days of Destiny for me will start to dwindle. Throughout my Destiny career I had fun because it was a new IP and great camaraderie was found around every corner. When there was new content the sheer fun would keep you planted to the game, during the many droughts (which there shouldn't have been any) the camaraderie would pull you through. Now even though Destiny was like a drug to me and I've ignored virtually all my other games for the past 3 years, that doesn't mean I didn't analyze the faults of Destiny, which there are many. First an foremost, in an OPEN WORLD game with a large world the biggest focus should be things to do in that world aka patrol, for the PvE player in me this was Destiny's biggest shortcoming. Strikes and missions are not supposed to be the main place to play, patrol is. Here are some gripes I have with Destiny: - Large, empty world - Same enemies - same spawn points - same group sizes - same units - same amount of health - same level - no usable items farmable from enemies - Public Events on a Predictable timer - Exotic Weapons WAYYY TOO EASY to get (Exotics should be the type of thing where you may not be able to get all of them [or even half of them] for the entirety of the games lifespan, every single one of them should be locked behind a long quest with various stages [NONE OF THEM BEING "Wait till Wednesday"]) - Legendaries are too random (I should be able to use my weapon parts to build selectable attachments, for example: • 100 weapon parts to build a Red Dot OAS • 250 weapon parts to build a Hand Laid Stock • Killing a ranking Cabal soldier has the chance to drop me a Counterbalance Mod (1/65 chance) • Killing a ranking Fallen soldier has the chance to drop me a Perfect Balance Mod (1/50 chance) Bring all this stuff to the gunsmith, along with my Shadow Price and he can apply these weapon mods for a few of 5000 glimmer This way I have my weapon, the way I want it and others can do to same for themselves, and it doesn't eliminate the grind, just makes it more fun, direct and rewarding.) - Whites, Greens and Blues are useless once you pass a certain level, they should be individualized and ascendable or removed from the game only keeping regular and exotic weapons - There are many other things but I'm on the way to work and don't wanna type too long lol With all the flaws I just listed, plus the flaws I didn't list, plus crucible which I won't even get into in this post as well as a lack of varying content to keep us engaged games like Anthem may eat destiny for breakfast in the PvE category at the very least. IF Anthem's final release is the same as the gameplay reveal it seems like the world will be much more inviting and fun to explore than Destiny's, effectively marking the beginning of the loss of that portion of the community. Like I said before I'm on the way to work so I can't be as in depth as I'd wish but hopefully you guys will stir up an interesting conversation on this topic with your opinions
