Well in Halo 1 the pistol was like a sniper rifle and there was no battle rifle, you had the machine gun instead and that was a great combo. Then they nerfed the hand cannon in halo 2 but gave us the battle rifle which some people loved. There was the "noob combo" in halo 2 which was the covenant pistol which could take shields down in a single hit and then insta kill with the battle rifle to the head which worked great. Then I think Halo 3 or ODST brought dual weilding which was a lot of fun and the brute shot and various others guns. I will say through all the halos and destiny 1 there are few guns as fun and satisfying as the hand cannon/pistol from original halo 1
