Destiny 2 script leak

Fallen Captain known as Arbiks, 'The Judge': 'There was only one Great Machine.' Fallen Archon Veriks: 'One? Are you sure?' Judge: 'Yes. They called it, The Traveller.' Fallen Archon Merciks: 'Why was it not ...uh, worshipped? 'Cos that's what we Fallen did to it, I think. I dunno. Long time ago. Worshipped with the rest of their... fleet?' Judge: 'It fled, as we set fire to the Darkness.' Fallen Archon Regreks: 'When you first saw the Traveller, were you blinded by its majesty?' Judge: 'Blinded?' Regreks: 'That's the line on my script, yes.' Judge: 'Uh, I wasn't blinded, no. Even though it was a clear morning and what appears to be the largest non-celestial body in the known galaxy is white.' Regreks: (angrily) 'Yet the humans were able to evade your ships, welcome the Great Machine, and desecrate it with their filthy festival projections!' Judge: 'Noble Archons, surely you understand that once the undead attacked-' Merciks: (bangs his fist down on his chair) 'There will be order in this Council!' Veriks: 'You were right to focus your attention on the Hive. But this Guardian, this... uh, we have no other word for it...'" Judge: 'By the time I learned his/her/their/other possessive pronoun intent, there was nothing I could do.' The Fallen council roars disapprovingly. Allied Cabal Primus Valus Ta'artarus chuckles to himself. Regreks: (whispering to Veriks) "Noble Archon of Veriks, this has gone on long enough. Make an example of this bungler. The Council demands it!" Veriks: (whispering to Regreks) 'Actually, the kids call it 'bungo' these days, not Bungle. inorite (to 'Vadamee) "You are one of our most treasured Exotics. Long have you led your House with honor and distinction. But your inability to safeguard the Traveler was a colossal failure." Archon Randomiks: (Stands up and shows a fist) "Nay, it was hear sy ...hearsy... heresy!" Judge: "I will continue my shamefully short Story Missions against the humans!' Veriks: "No, you will not." Veriks glances at Valus Ta'artarus, and the Cabal Primus ...space-turtles a command. Two Centurions approach Judge and try to grab him, but he shakes them off and he starts walking. They escort him out. Veriks: "Soon, the first mission of Destiny 2 shall begin. But when it does, the weight of your heresy will stay your feet, and you shall get Weaseled." View fades to a new background. Veriks is wearing Mask of the Third Man because Destiny, that's why, and the middle eye is replaced by Earth's moon. The view then pans to a view of Earth itself, focusing on three ships in orbit. A few Vanguard ships fly past. Earth. 9.8.27?? Banshee-44: "Your plating was about to fail. There's viscosity throughout the gel layer. Optics? Totally fried. And let's not even talk about the power supply. Seriously, don't. I'm a gunsmith, I have no idea what I'm talking about." The view shows the Guardian's new helmet on the table, whichever the player picked at the beginning of the game before the cutscenes or something. Banshee-44: "You know how expensive this gear is, son? And Bungie hasn't even released any DLC yet." Guardian: "Tell that to the Cov- ...Fallen and/or Cabal and/or Hive and/or Vex and/or Taken."

    • Part 4 Mission 3 (are we keeping Story Missions obscenely short like in the first game? Smith, if you’re reading this, lemme know): A Day at the Beach Spuma PASSENGER: Oh man, I love the beach... Spuma GUNNER: I hope you packed a suit, mate! Spuma passenger: Nah, Darkhollow stuff doesn’t exactly like sand. Ghost: Cut the chatter... we got trouble. (As you negotiate the beach) Ikora (radio): Guardian... the ketch just launched a wave of pods. They're inbound on your position. (Fallen drop pods slam down on the beach all around you, and armed Captains spring from them) The Guardian backs up with a pair of duel-wielded Auto-Sidearms (now revealed as a feature in the game and new weapon class), before lighting a Fusion Grenade. Ghost: Betcha can’t stick it. Guardian: You’re on. And scene. (Then as you move into the highway tunnel) Ghost: I've been analyzing the Fallen and Cabal tactical chatter. They're surprised, confused... I don't think they expected us to be here. Not... you and me, all of us... humanity, on Earth. Wait, no, that can’t be right. ...Oh, you know what, I’m reading the Halo 2 transcript, give me a second here. Or however many seconds it is until the D2 trailer drops. At the time of writing, we’re an hour and 22 minutes away. Maybe that’ll explain more about the Cabal attack on the City. Otherwise we’ve written ourselves into an easily-edited corner. No, ok, they’re here with a big fleet. Zavala: And today, we know our enemy. His name is- Cayde: Gary! Or Gil- Glen? I don’t know, SOMETHING WITH A G! Zavala: Ghaul. LEVEL 05: "...We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Thunderlord" CHAPTER 01: "Ladies Like Heavy Weapons" CINEMATIC The Guardian strides over towards a couple of other Guardians. He steps over a Guardian sitting on the ground, out of breath from what must have been a recent firefight. A female Guardian briefs him on the current situation concerning a lumbering behemoth presently disappearing over the bridge, a Fallen/Cabal Walker. Falbal. Caballen. Caballen works. FEMALE Guardian: It blew right through us! Nova Mortis, Truth, didn't do a thing. At that moment, a Ketch Me If You Can flies by, and Cayde teleports to ground. Cayde: Where's the rest of your Fireteam? FEMALE Guardian: Wasted. Not a Sunsinger among them, and we’re on Hard. BREATHLESS Guardian: And we’ll be too dead, sir… or dead too, I can’t talk when I’m out of breath. We will too, if we don' t get the hell out of here! The Hunter sets a hand on the Guardian's shoulder. Cayde: You hit, Guardian? BREATHLESS Guardian: N-no, sir. Cayde: Good to hear. Now listen up! The Guardian is gonna take this here Gjallarhorn, roll across the bridge, and blow up any inhuman son-of-a-bitch dumb enough to get between him and Gerry! Now, get your big-boy pants on, 'cause you're goin' with him! FEMALE Guardian: What about that Walker? Cayde: We've all done Public Events; they're tough, but they ain't invincible against more than two or three high-level players. Wait, you guys are like level 3. ...Stay with the Guardian, he and/or she will know what to do. Ghost (directed towards the Guardian): Thanks for the ornament. He (or she) never gets me anything. Cayde hops into the passenger compartment of Ketch Me If You Can. Cayde: Oh, I know what the AIs like. You start out next to the Gjallarhorn, with the bridge stretching out in front of you. The burning skyline with the Fallen Ketch hovering over it is visible in the distance. Also a big number 2. The bridge is strewn with the wreckage of cars, trucks and buses. A multitude of Fallen Pikes patrol the bridge, as well as a smaller , ordinary Fallen Walker. About halfway across, ...Fallen Sabers swoop in for an attack from either side, and three Skiffs fly by, delivering troops and another Walker. A lone Guardian stationed on the bridge joins you and the other 2 Guardians. At the other end of the bridge, a group of Sabers flies in over the rooftops. Ghost: That's quite a welcome party. Though how they managed to gather a Fireteam larger than six… So unfair. A pack of Pikes skitters into view and opens up on your tank. They are soon joined by a pair of Walkers who come in from the nearby highway tunnel, as well as another pair of Sabres. You blow up everything on the bridge and at the end enter the highway tunnel meeting little resistance until you come to a barrier. A Guardian approaches you. It’s Ikora and she offers you a shotgun. Ikora: It's tight quarters on the other side, Guardian. Use this. Ghost: An Invective. Nice! You enter a series of sewage tunnels that open out into a massive courtyard. CHAPTER 02 or whatever we’re on now: "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us" The Caballen Walker can be seen in the distance, although it leaves quickly. A Spuma pulls up to you. Xur: Could use you on the gun, Guardian! Xur drives you into another courtyard, where a few Pikes, a pair of Vandal snipers, a veteran Captain, and a Walker guard the tunnel at the far end. Ghost: Uh, this may be a bad time, but what exactly are you doing in the middle of a heated firefight? Xur: Fancied a change from the role of mysterious, Cthulhu-esque merchant. Yeehaw, you see that Walker explode?! Another pair of Pikes enters the fray, and once they're dead, Xur drives you into a large room with a waterfall, and then out into the streets of the City. You come upon a Vanguard outpost. You are greeted by a hunched, green-clad Fallen at the entrance. Variks: Guardian! Pleasant to see you, yeeeees. Ghost: Who's in charge here, Variks? Variks: Petra. I will take you to her now. He leads you up the heavily guarded stairs to a balcony overlooking the streets. A huge Arc beam can be seen firing at something in the distance, and the Caballen Walker lumbers into view. CHAPTER 03: "Field Expedient" Petra Venj: When I asked for reinforcements, I didn’t think they’d send a kinderguardian. Seriously, you said on LFG you were at least level 5. We got trouble! The Walker demolishes a Sheila tank that was dropped in earlier, then it starts walking toward the base. Random Guardian: See this look?! It's terror!! Petra: Guardian, did I give you permission to bitch?! I don't think it's stopping; get your heads down! (The Scarab walks right over your position) That thing is really starting to PISS ME OFF! Not you, Rahool. Guardians, time to kill us a Walker! You enter a large warehouse in pursuit of the Walker. You end up on a series of walkways above a large water-filled canal, and the Walker is, uh, walking below you, while Caballen troops fire at you from the deck. The Walker reaches the end of the canal, and can go no further. Ghost: It can't go any further this way. We have it trapped. You enter the Walker, which sounds kinda sexual, to find a shitload of bad guys. Ghost (After killing the Reaver Captain): Careful Guardian, that was a Reaver Captain that you now no longer have to worry about, and those pilots are no pushovers either. ...Ok, now we have to go outside, kneecap it, and every time we do, shoot its brains. You got Three of Coins on? The Walker explodes as the Guardian watches expectantly. It produces two blues. Cayde (In the KMIYC cockpit): That's right, you sons of bitches! Run! Ghost: Not if we can help it. Ikora: Extract the Guardian and return to In Violet Clad. As I did after giving them Invective, in case you couldn’t tell. Cayde: I’m on it! Zavala (On display screen on In Violet Clad): Status? Ikora: Commander, Ghaul is bugging out! Request permission to engage! Zavala: Negative, Ikora. I'll send something a little bigger his way. The Caballen ship begins to accelerate. NAV OFFICER: Ma'am, Vexspace rupture off the target's bow! It's going to jump, inside the city! Ikora: There's no time, sir! And no time to explain why there’s no time! Zavala: Greenlight! Greenlight to engage! KMIYC docks inside In Violet Clad. Ikora: Left trigger! Get us close! NAV OFFICER: Ma'am, without a destination solution- Ikora: We are NOT losing that ship! The ship enters Vexspace, causing a massive white explosion that engulfs an awful lot of the City but leaves the Traveller untouched, though still burning, and stops just short of what most may assume will be the first social space of this new game, some sort of forest clearing, where Zavala is in the reveal trailer. END CINEMATIC

    • Part... 3? 3. OUTSKIRTS of the City CINEMATIC A trio of ...uh, Arcadias rockets away from In Violet Clad, jet engines thundering, and spear out towards The City. Ghost: The message just repeats. 'G, G, G.' Ikora: Curious. Most curious. Any idea what it means? Cayde: Dear Humanity... gee, we regret being alien bastards. Gee, we regret coming to Earth. And gee, we most definitely regret that the Vanguard just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet! PILOTS (in unison): Hoo-rah! Ghost (radio): G is an initial, Cayde. For a Cabal leader. He’s on that ketch and calling for help. Vanguard SPOTTER (radio): Immediate. Grid kilo 77 is hot. Recommend mission abort. PILOT: Roger, recon. It's your call, Cayde. Cayde: We're going in. Get tactical, Guardians! Make sure you're on the right subclass. Zavala (radio): Guardian, get aboard that ketch, and secure the Archon. This is the only place on Earth the Fallen and Cabal decided to land. That Archon is going to tell us why. Ghost: Uh, presumably to attack the City. Should we not just focus on repelling the attack? PILOT: Thirty seconds out... stand by to... whoa… The smoke from the beleaguered City clears to reveal a sky-scraping number 2, towering above everything, the top curving with the Traveller. Distracted, the pilots collide with each other and the surrounding buildings, and crash, the sillies. END CINEMATIC Ghost: Guardian? Eyes up, Guardian. It worked. You're alive! You don't know how long I've been looking for you. I'm a Ghost. Actually, now I'm your Ghost. And you... well, you've been dead a long time. So you're going to see a lot of things you won't understand. Cayde: Not a good time, Ghost. Everyone ready? Mission 2: Gee, They'll Regret That Too (As you arrive at a bombed-out building and a firefight breaks out) Cayde: If they didn't know we're here before, they do now. (Dregs come around a corner) Cayde: We got Jackals in the courtyard! That’s what I call Dregs now. It confuses ‘em, see? (A group of Shanks flies into view) Cayde: Buggers, headin' over the rooftops! (The sound of engines drifts over the rooftop) Cayde: Eyes up! Skiff's back! (Another Arcadia arrives, hovering over the courtyard) PILOT O2 (radio): My girl's a little big for that courtyard, Cayde. I see a good LZ on the other side of these buildings. Meet you there, over (there, over). Cayde: Copy that. Someone get a satchel on the gate. I need a drink. (A pair of enemies breaks through the gate) Ghost: Centurions Cayde: Okay, so I’m in this super-boring meeting about something - I don’t know, wasn’t paying attention. Then BOOM! It was like an ugly contest where everyone was a winner. This one dude was all ‘RAWR’ so I shot him. *imitates a gunshot* Then I shot this other one. *imitates another gunshot* Shot a couple extra guys just to be safe. *imitates three more gunshots* I did- I did a lot of shooting, if I’m being totally honest. Then *imitates explosion* They destroyed my favourite store - second favourite, there’s that spicy ramen shop, I’m getting sidetracked - look, long story short, I get busy and I’m thinking, ‘I got this’, you know? When you’re in that- you go, ‘I got this’. But man! I so did not have it. The Sweeper Bot stares at Cayde, nonplussed. Cayde: Ehh, guess you had to be there. A Centurion shot blows out the wall of the bar. Cayde: Well, better get back to it. Zavala: Cayde! Any day now! Cayde: Jeez, a guy has one drink, I’m comin’. (Once the Centurions are down [they’re Imperials, so they take more bullets than most], Cayde goes elsewhere to help defend the City) (A Marine pulls up in a shiny new Fireteam-sized vehicle, the Space Puma - or Spuma, honking the horn) Ghost: That bridge is the most direct route to the City center.

Part 2 Banshee-44: Well, I guess it was all obsolete, anyway. Your new suit's a ...you know what? Shall we just skip all the hand-holding tutorial bullshit? Huh? How about I crack some innuendoes about guns? That'd be better. (The elevator door behind Banshee opens, to reveal Cayde-6, who fires a pair of finger-guns at the Guardian) Banshee: So if you don't know what the hell's going on because I skipped it all, and your shield goes down, just find some cover and let it recharge. Cayde: That, or he could hide behind me. If you're playing a Hunter, that is, my profile isn't big enough to cover a Titan, maybe not even a Warlock. You all done here, Banshee? I don't see any 'BETA' splashed across the screen. Banshee: His weaponry's oiled for now. You're free to go, Guardian, just remember, take things nice and easy. Cayde: Don't worry, I'll loosen you up. There's a nice bar down in the City, great music, friendly Sweeper Bot. You'll love it. (When you step onto the elevator) Banshee: So, Cayde, when you gonna give me that Glimmer you owe me from the SRL? Cayde: Uh... Sorry, Banshee. That's classified. Banshee: Heh. Like hell it is. Well, you can forget about those adjustments to your Ace of Spades. (The door closes, and the elevator rises) Cayde: Well, he's in a particularly fine mood. Maybe Zavala didn't give him an invitation. (The elevator stops, revealing a small four-man... Fireteam+1 tram, and a stunning view of Earth through large bay windows.) Cayde: Earth. Haven't seen it in years. Well, not from this angle. (He steps onto the tram car) Cayde: Beautiful, isn't she? Keep this between you and me, but... I can't say I don't envy you, Guardian. Gettin' out there, kicking alien butt, and getting views like this. I have exactly one window I can look out of from the Vanguard Hall, and it's half a room away. A very large room. And Zavala's in the way too, giving me the stinkeye with those beady blues of his. *shudders* I can't look out the window for 10 minutes without getting 'How many KD Bogatyrs have you sold today?' or 'Are you going to investigate those reports of a Cabal bomb?' (The tram stops, to reveal a crowd of cheering civilians, wearing the sort of shit Back to the Future said we'd be wearing this century.) Cayde and the Guardian step from the tram into the crowd of ...more Guardians. Ghosts dart around the room to get a camera angle. Guardian: You told me there wouldn't be any cameras. Cayde: And you told me you were gonna wear something nice. The hell is this? Crota's End gear? You look like an undead dinosaur, press is gonna tear you apart. Be brave, Guardian. Cayde lifts his hood, smooths his ...'hair'. Cayde: So, smile, would ya? Hype train's comin' home. Whoo-whoo! CUT TO Fallen homeworld or somewhere The Cabal lead the Judge through a crowd of jeering Psions, Dregs, and Centurions. Psion crowd (in unison): Heretic! Heretic! Heretic! The Cabal stop at a dais in front of a huge dropoff, and below we can see crowds of thousands gathered to watch. The Cabal strap the Judge arms into a pair of floating Arc restraints. Valus Ta'artarus: You've drawn quite a crowd! Judge: If they came for a good story, they will be disappointed. Valus Ta'artarus: Are you sure? The Arc restraints blaze, melting the Captain's shield. So he switches it to Solar. Orange energy beams shoot out from the wall, meeting the floating restraints. The Judge fights back a cry of pain. CUT TO wherever Cayde was, apparently I put him on a ship rather than in the Tower or something. Cayde and the Guardian arrive on the bridge, greeted by dozens of cheering Vanguardians and crew members. They approach a raised platform, walking up a flight of steps to the sound of clapping hands. They stand in front of Commander Zavala, snap to attention, and salute. Cayde offers a wink. Zavala: Gentlemen, or... Cayde and female Guardian, we're lucky to have you back. One of Zavala's officers whispers something in his ear. In Destiny 2 Anniversary, this is properly animated. In Destiny 2, he simply leans close but his lips don't move. Zavala: Go ahead, Ghost. Ghost: Another whisper, Commander, near Io. We have probes en route, but we probably won't be getting there until next year. DLC and all that jazz. Zavala: Guardian, I apologize, but we're going to have to make this quick. Cayde: Apparently not, we have about 12 months. Zavala shoots Cayde a 'look'. Ghost: You look nice. Guardian AND Cayde (simultaneously): Thanks. Jinxed! Jinxed again! Our mental synchronisation, can have but one explanation- Zavala: Cayde, when you're quite done dancing- Cayde: Doing the Frozen ro- the Frobot. Zavala: We Ran Out of Medals is awarded for defeating 25 enemy Guardians without dying. Among the crowds, Shaxx can be seen, wiping a single tear of oil from his cold hard cheek. Cayde: (whispers to the Guardian) Back in my day, we called it 'Untouchable'. CUT TO High Chair Valus Ta'artarus: You bought Vanilla and then rolled your eyes at The Taken King?! There can be no greater heresy! Let him be an example for all who would break our promise to Bungle! The crowd howls, and the Cabal guards remove the Fallen Captain's chest armor. CUT TO Cairo A nearly-bald woman steps up, turns, snaps to attention. Zavala: Ikora Rey. You gave us Invective, and led many fine young Warlocks to become bastions of the City's defence. We thank you, and we will never forget. CUT TO High Hopes A white Fallen Captain helmet falls to an unrendered floor, which ultimately appears several days later. The Judge, stripped naked, hangs against the restraints. From below, a large, cruel-looking brand emerges, bearing a striking resemblance to the Activision logo. Valus Ta'artarus takes it. He approaches the Fallen Captain and pushes the brand viciously against his chest. For a moment, the Captain fights the pain, but then gives in and lets out a low howl before soiling himself. CUT TO Carrot Klaxons begin to blare. Ghost: Vexspace ruptures, directly off our battle cluster. Zavala: Show me. Ghost: Failsafe protocol; in the event of unexpected- wait, wrong cutscene. The display flickers, showing approach trajectories for a group of Fallen ketches. Ghost: Fifteen Fallen ketch ships, holding position just outside the killzone. Horizon. Games by Guerrilla. FLEET ADMIRAL Holiday (radio): This is Fleet Admiral Holiday. In case the script didn't give that away. We are engagin' the enemay. Zavala: Negative, Admiral Amanda. Form a defensive perimeter around the cluster. Ikora, get to your ship, link up with the fleet. Then board the enemy ships and attack like the Warlock you are, not the ship commander I keep forgetting you aren't. Ikora: Yes, Sir. Zavala: You have the BIG gun, Ghost. As soon as they come in range, open up. Ghost: Gladly. Zavala (studying the display): Something's not right. The fleet during the Collapse was fifty times this size. SENSORMAN: Sir, additional contacts! Boarding craft, and lots of 'em! Zavala: They're going to try to take our BIG guns offline, give their ketches a straight shot at Earth. Guardian, defend this station. Guardian: Yes, Sir. (To Sg- uh, Cayde) I need a story- I mean a weapon. Preferably meatier than a Khvostov. Cayde: You remember they did an Exotic version with Rise of Iron, right?
Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate. Gameplay begins for Mission 1: Cairo ....Ship Some things happen. (Another ship detonates and spins apart, just like the Malteaser ship before you know the one) Zavala (radio): Ghost, assessment! Ghostana (radio): I didn’t think they’d leave the ships intact, I- oh, bombs. It’s covered in bombs. Zavala (radio): Then they sure as hell brought one here. Guardian, find it. (As you return to the armory, to find Banshee fighting a pair of Captains) Banshee: Get the hell out of my armory, plenty-arms- (Banshee is hit and becomes Banshee-45. Buuuuut not before a lengthy reboot which incapacitates him for the rest of the game) MOAR THINGS HAPPEN Ghost (radio): Sir, boarders have breached the fire control center. They have a bomb. Zavala (radio): Can you defuse it? Ghost (radio): Yes, but I'll need the Guardian's help to make contact with the detonator. Guardian: Can’t you just… fly up to it and zap it like you always do? Ghost (radio): Surrounded by Fallen and Cabal? Guardian: You always seem to do fine with it. Ghost: After you- wait, I was on the radio. (Kch) After you got rid of all the things trying to kill us. After that, it’s a piece of cake. But this is a bomb. One wrong move and we’re all blown to spacedom come. And it tends to be under pressure from aliens that I am most prone to wrong moves. Zavala: Well… alright, then. Guardian, get to the bomb, double time! Ghost, prioritize targets and fire at will. Ghost (radio): Just so you know, there are quite a few Fallen and Cabal guarding the bomb. You may need to get creative. Betcha can’t stick it. Guardian: You’re wrong. Ghost: And the dozen Halo fans reading this just lost their minds in anger. (Once you clear the room) CINEMATIC Ghost appears on a pedestal near the bomb. Ghost: Here and hold Square or X or whatever it’ll be on PC, now. The Guardian steps over to the bomb, and holds out the Ghost. The Ghost swishes from their hand and disappears, reappearing literally several centimetres away before zapping the bomb display. It blinks and shuts off. Guardian: How much time was left? Ghost: Let me put it this way: if you were doing it with your reflexes and ability to concentrate under pressure, we’d all be dead by now. The bomb display flashes 30 minutes. Ikora (radio): Commander, this is In Violet Clad. The largest ketch's shield is down. I'm in position and ready for immediate assault. Zavala: Negative, Ikora. Not against a ship that size. Not on your own. Ghost: She could try matchmaking. ...Oh wait, the largest activities aren’t matchmade. Maybe they are in this sequel. Maybe... Guardian (radio): Sir. Permission to leave the station? Zavala: For what purpose, Guardian? MASTER CHIEF (radio): To give the Covenant back their bomb. Zavala: What is the Covenant? Sounds like some Hive music band. Ghost: Probably meant the Fallen and Cabal. And didn’t want to touch dat line. Zavala: And who is this… Master Chief? *shakes head* Permission granted. In the bay, the Guardian grabs the bomb and hauls it across the floor, leaving a trail of sparks. He drags it into the elevator, and descends. Ghost: I know what you're thinking, and it's crazy. Guardian: So, stay here. Ghost: Unfortunately for us both, I like crazy. Maybe not rampant, though. The elevator reaches an Aurora Lance launch bay, and the Guardian steps out, watching through the huge bay door. The entire fleet streams down toward Earth, chasing the enemy ships, and exchanges of fire flicker through space. The Guardian steps up to the door's release handle, which drops down above him. Ghost: Just one question. What if you miss? Guardian: Then we’re -blam!-ed. The Guardian pulls down the handle and the bay doors cycle open, the bay decompressing rapidly. Debris lifts off the floor and hurtles into space, and the bomb slowly begins to slide toward the doors. The Guardian grabs hold of it as it passes, and is pulled out into space. In free-fall, the Chief descends towards central Asia. The second Fallen ketch passes below his position. A pair of Aurora Lance fighters dives past him, no doubt vectored in by the Ghost, and make a strafing run on the Fallen carrier. Their bombs make a stacatto beat of fire along the back of the carrier, and the Chief slips through the narrow gap the blasts have created into- The carrier's center is a huge, open chamber, a massive fusion core casting white light across its inner surface. The carrier has taken a lot of abuse; the far side of the chamber is torn apart, revealing Earth outside. The Guardian crawls up the bomb, presses its activation panel, and spins around. His legs flex, and he blinks or glides off the bomb, aiming for the split in the carrier's armor. Wait, no, just glides. There’s no physical force in blinking. He plummets from the carrier, straight for Earth, as behind him minor blue explosions flicker up and down the Fallen ship. A pause, and the entire ship detonates in a huge plasma conflagration. The Guardian falls towards Asia, and a human frigate passes beneath him, matching trajectories. Inside In Violet Clad's bridge, Cayde and Ikora watch a tactical display. A thud resounds through the ship; the Guardian has hit his mark. SGT. JOHNSON: For a brick, he flew pretty good! Cayde: Johnson? Avery Johnson?! Holy hell, man, what’s up? It’s been too long! Ikora: (rolls eyes) Guardian, get inside, gear up. We're taking this fight to the surface. In Violet Clad banks hard and dives towards the Earth's atmosphere, and a massive, gray city - fan speculation says we’re pretty sure it’s in central Asia at this point - comes into view.
