What have you guys at Bungie changed recently to make connections in PvE so friggin bad???
It's been going on for around 3 weeks? Or possibly since your last patch.
I have noticed 3 times as many people going from green to orange to red lately including myself.
Hell I can't even matchmake in orbit anymore without going red bar which is something I've never had an issue with before.
And if I do occasionally manage to matchmake with a green bar you can 100% guarantee that I now go red bar once the strike/nightfall starts....again, something I've NEVER had a problem with before.
Just now I did a strike and Guardians were teleporting all over the place, enemies were disappearing and then reappearing with most of their health back, it was a mess. And connections were all over the place from green to red and then to orange and back to red etc....
I've changed absolutely nothing at my end, I've gone through your trouble shooting list and have made sure I'm set up ok, Internet tests on my ps4 say I have a good connection, and yet as soon as your game fires up BAM! Red bar yet again.
I've got 3150 hours played and haven't had this happen before...
Why now? What's changed?

Ever wonder why those with bad connection are never been punished? If bungie did punished them, me and those with good connection would not suffer. I understand player pool is small but it should be that bad. Fun Fact those with the red are able shoot you down but you are unable to connect your shot. I think that should be other way around. We have complain about that 3 years Bungie never ever did anything and That is the very primary reason why PVP pool has been so much less. Unfortually people (including Josh) who work at bungie with their brilliant mind can't understand that. Sad

Yeah, me too. I have really fast and reliable fibre optic broadband, been constant green bar since Destiny Vanilla. Now all of a sudden I can't get off Red Bar. Definitely Bungies end. Nothing changed my end. Makes me angry.

What's changed is the amount of players in the pool. It's a whole lot less than it used to be so MM is matching you with players that are further away. Evidence of this is how long it takes you get into a lobby.

Nothing has changed on Bungie's end. Lag is caused by one of 2 things. 1. If there is a more than average distance to the Host player. 2. The player has poor internet. In either case if you see a player lagging please us the in game report system to inform Bungie who can then investigate and if needed take action (in the case of lag this is normally a temporary restriction from the crucible).
