The weapons balance with the only focus on pvp destroyd hand cannons in pve.
I'm Guardian sinds year one. When the fatebringer became outdate due to light lvl I was disapointed.
But just a bit. There where so many handcannons that were stil just as fun to play with.
Then I was lucky and got a fatebringer role on my imago.
One of my top 5 best moments in Destiny ever!
Ever sinds that I never playd pve with anything else.
After the patch it felt totally off.
I knew with out a doubt that it was gitcht after I could not one shot a Thrall in a heroic strike.
A Thrall guys..........
So I did some testing. I tested allmost all arc. types and with different perks.
I found that the dmg on not max range handcannons was nerft in to the ground! Low, mid, high and ex. high impact all the same.
Even with max range the dmg fall off is still verry great.
This means not only that handcannons can't match up anymore to any other weapon types.(like scouts, pulse ect.)
But also that all non range perks have bin made meaning less due to the extreem dmg fall off.
Handcannons (after year one) were low range, low acc. but high dmg weapons. Now that the dmg has bin nerft in to the ground there is not a singel reason to use them any more.
I am extremeley disapointed to the point that I don't even want to play any more. I always loved playing Destiny. Content or no new content. But this is just to mutch.
The only reason I play pvp is for the gear. The lagg is just to great for it to be any fun.
Pve is my thing. Just like milions of other players.
Bungy please revive the guardians. Don't let the world of Destiny die.
Keep pve alive!

Black_Widow503により編集済み: 2/22/2017 1:02:57 AMThat's a big reason i stopped playing! My entire Hand cannon collection for pve was made obsolete with this patch. It makes me very disappointed and I don't want to use scouts anymore or pulses it boring AF. Here's why! This is why pvp should have been separated from pve from the very beginning! That's why separating the two modes would be beneficial to everyone even Bungie they just don't know it themselves! Pvpers and pvers. Here's the thing when I read your post I know exactly what you are talking about because I play the game a lot. The problem with Bungie is they don't play the game often enough except during testing phases. When those certain people at Bungie have the responsibility to make changes in Destiny don't play the game enough, they don't know what the players are even talking about online and in the forums. Bungie doesn't know when those people make good or bad suggestions to the game online. Why? We have people at Bungie who are making changes to the game that don't play the game and don't have an interest in playing the game. They treat Destiny as a job and a paycheck only. They aren't going to care how their changes will effect the community in a good or bad manner. Why, because they are listening but they don't quite understand. Destiny is like a second language they don't care to learn yet! For example the community manager that is supposed to be relaying our messages to the devs at Bungie, Cozmo and Deej, have no interest in Destiny and barely play the game. They just do their jobs as a community manager by reading comments (they don't understand) and trying to translate our wants and needs back to the devs as best they can. Are they going to be able to decipher who knows what they are talking about and who doesn't? No! Because they don't play the game as a hobby, we do. So yes we the community know more about Destiny than all the devs and community managers combined. The devs see the game from a behind-the-scenes perspective, coding, we the community see the game from an immersive perspective, in game play! Anyway I hope you see where I'm coming from anyway. Edit: Here's another thing that takes it a step further. Josh Hamrick and others like him are depending too heavily on the content creators. Why? Because they spend all their days in a 9to5 on a game they don't have an interest in going home and playing on top of doing their jobs all day! Of course they don't, no one would! They listen to the content creators too much and that's a problem because sometimes those content creators and streamers have biased game changing suggestions. They want changes that complement their playstyles only. Then Josh and people like him trust what these people have to say and then go make changes based on what they are saying and their data analysis. Numbers and graphs can only tell you so much about Destiny. It can never tell you the bigger picture. So that is where the disconnect between the community and the devs is happening! They need to put people in at Bungie who have experience playing the game and is more objective in their view point. That would take job applications and a process by Bungie they would need to be willing to undertake. Interview people in the community that would have more of an objective perspective. Some of these streamers are too biased to be suggesting changes to the game.

Yup. Now you need rangefinder AND rifled barrel in order for your handcannon to be usable.

I noticed the same thing. It's a shame. Bungie has made it clear though... ToO concerns trump all others.

I feel hand cannons are better now in PvE then before the patch Your loop doesn't have enough range

blade329により編集済み: 2/21/2017 6:57:51 PMWell, this is the problem you run into when you let Trials of Osiris players have too much of a say in Destiny.

The world of Destiny is already dead, let go of it and wait for Destiny 2 (by let go I don't mean not play it, I mean just stop caring so much)

Given how Destiny works, I can understand if they can't change the range accross PvE and PvP. It helps when it doesn't matter where you bring your prefered fun, that you "Know" your gun's maximum range by how it feels, and to have it arbitraryly change between modes might feel frustrating and annoying. But for damage falloff? That's something they should be able to scale differently in PvE, just like they currently do with flat damage for different weapons and abilities. They could create some addendum code that slightly offsets the nerf while shooting at "minions of the darkness". That would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, explosive rounds help a lot.

I can't one shot exploder shanks anymore with my hand cannon, even when they are right beside me. It's pretty lame:p

I feel you, I was clear of 3-1 kills with HC's over any other weapon last I checked. After the update, yeah acc is back and that's great, but I don't want to stand at a bosses feet to do reliable damage. I'm required to either use a sniper or switch to a scout to do damage against bosses. I was fighting the Prime Servitor on mars, and at melee range my Thorn (I was trying all HCs) would do 4.5k. I take a step back out of the bosses melee range and I watched the damage drop to 2.8k No way in hell I can use these on boss fights any more...

I haven't noticed such an issue. Perhaps it's because I either raid or play Crucible. Not much for strikes and patrol. My go to raid primary is a Byronic Hero with explosive rounds and my crucible primary is the IB Hand Cannon from TTK.
