オリジナルの投稿元: Why do you all like Trump?

I think Trump's brazenness to abuse rules and demonstrate his power over women or minorities appeals to a lot of people that are losers in life. The Alt-Right is made up of a lot of people resentful (failure with women) and socially awkward. Forums are anonymous and many people feel emboldened by that. Of course like any election there were many other factors at play. This is just one piece of it.

  • Maybe. Perhaps years from now we'll look back on that being one of the benefits of Trump.

  • It's like Americans have been sitting on their ass thinking that govt was going to get everything right, so they didn't have to work for anything. Refugees have been the biggest meme over the last year, but nobody actually did anything. Now Trump puts forward 1 executive order, and no less than 3 multinational corporations dump millions into relief and offer protection and jobs for these people. They had that capability before, it just took someone they despise to do something contrary to what they imagine the government should to make them act. It's hilariously ironic to me that Trump is causing people to act charitably out of spite.

  • I think there's some truth to that. I was heard someone say they wanted Romney to win the 2012 Presidential election only because civil rights advocates would be more critical of him than they would Obama. It gave me some thought. But that does not mean this doesn't happen for a reason. The Republican Party's acceleration into fascism as made civil rights advocates so frightened that of course they would defend an Obama or Clinton like figure if it prevented a despot.

Yet another person who claims trump mistreats women and minorities with no backing at all. The first time I see actual proof of this I will be against trump. Until then I will laugh at you. Notice how nobody ever said any of things about Trump UNTIL he ran for office. Rather suspicious don't you think? Kind of like the sexual assault cases that randomly appeared from decades ago then magically disappeared when he won the election

  • -blam!- you for supporting a fascist that's ripping the United States apart. You're right no one gave a shit when he was peddling steaks, university scams, or on reality TV because he didn't have the power of the American Presidency. Is that hard to grasp? "Omg suspicious!"

So, basically you're saying half the country is socially awkward and losers? You see, this is why Hillary didn't get elected. You seem to have a bone to pick with him about sexism, and his voters. May I remind you that the MAJORITY of voters were actually female? I think that fact alone puts your theory to rest. Insulting his voters isn't going to change anything, it just shows immaturity and lack of understanding on your part, which is ironically what you're against. Anyway, he's got more done in a week than Obama did in the past 6months.

Evidently some of them have problems with reading comprehension. Had you not flown off the handle before finishing reading the post you'd not my comment that elections are complicated and are often decided by a number of issues and factors. My comment is about one of them. A lot of losers voted for Trump because he appeals to what they wish they could be. A part of that voting bloc are some pretty shitty people with shitty beliefs. Some are people that have been economic losers screwed by a neoliberal policy agenda set into motion with Reagan that Trump now rejects.
Insulting his voters isn't going to change anything, it just shows immaturity and lack of understanding on your part, which is ironically what you're against.
Oh I think we should absolutely understand why Trump won so the tide of fascism in the USA is stopped. What do I think of Trump supporters though? I think they should be shunned and shamed at every opportunity. That is my honest to God belief. Compromise is no longer an option in America's political landscape. That was tried and it failed. We have seen for years now right wing activist media, Republican leaders, and Republican supporters cry wolf about a left wing boogeyman out to get them. I think they should be worried. Because Republicans want to make peaceful change and broad based compromise impossible they are radicalizing their opponents. This isn't a game and a lot of people are going to get hurt if Trump and the Republicans don't start thinking about how they can govern in a broad based manner. Partisanship is ripping the United States apart and it's going to get violent. I strongly believe all politicians need to wake the -blam!- up, impeach and jail Trump as well as his inner circle, and hope to God under Pence tensions can begin to deescalate. It sounds radical but these are now radical times.

Yes, and this is the one you've chosen to comment on, being the most controversial one at that. So, this will now be the topic of discussion, naturally. I wouldn't be surprised if you brought up the Russian intervention of the election next I honestly wouldn't blame the voters as much as I would the enablers. The media for one, playing with their much loved toy, the orange man, making him out to be the Devil at every turn. This of course has backfired on them, because someone couldn't honestly be this bad, right? Next logical conclusion, they must be lying. Then you got your Democratic leadership forcefully pushing a female president, when clearly the people are not very warmed up to the idea of having one. I honestly believe if Sanders was allowed to run, he would of had a much better chance. In the end, I think most voted for change, and this was simply the right time, under the right conditions for Trump to achieve a victory. Anyway, aren't liberals supposed to be open minded about new ideas? So far it's looking to be the opposite. As I said before, insulting and or shunning/shaming voters, which ever side they may have supported, doesn't accomplish much. In fact, it only confirms the stereotype the Conservatives have set out for you. I agree, these are radical times, but fighting fire with fire doesn't end well, and in the end all we're left with is ash.

  • Liberals are open about liberal ideas. Liberalism has been the political-economic ideology of pretty much every president including Reagan, Bush 41, and W. Bush. Yes they had more of a right wing conservative flavor of liberal democracy. Trump is not a liberal democrat. Trump is a fascist. Fascism is the antithesis to American values of liberty, freedom, and democracy. So -blam!- Trump and -blam!- his supporters. I absolutely believe we should all try and understand why Trump was elected and I absolutely think there is plenty of blame to go around for why. But he has now been elected and he must now be stopped. Trump needs to be impeached immediately and the Republican Party has much to account for as its loyalty to the betterment of America and American values has fallen into serious doubt.

liberal 1. willing to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas. You seemed to have a skewed perspective of that definition, but, to each his own. I simply translate that as being open minded about any reasonable logical idea, whether it be from liberals, conservatives, or wherever. On what grounds would he be immediately impeached for? He hasn't actually done anything illegal so far. Right now, he's just a Republican making good on his promises during his campaign, which is what any politician should be doing. It seems you're getting pretty worked up/upset about this, so lets end it here. Do me a favor though, reflect on the situation as a whole, and not only on one aspect, or in this case, person.

  • I am speaking about liberalism as in the definition of the actual political ideology and not the colloquial use of the word that translates to something like "Being loose with X." Conservatism as in the definition of the conservative ideology doesn't mean "Being conservative with giving out your candies." I am worked up about this. I stand against fascism and I think it is ripping apart the US. I have reflected. And with that I'll say -blam!- Trump and -blam!- everyone normalizing his behavior. There is no compromising on this. I have a radical stance on this and if you disagree then -blam!- you too.
