Can't log in

This is the second day in a row that I've tried to log in so I can play iron banner, and I've been getting an error message with no error code saying that I've lost connection. I've tried everything. Unfortunately, if the way to fix this problem is the way people are saying it is, then I will be unable to log in because of the fact that the PS3 that my brother has is with him in college, and he isn't responding to my requests to turn the thing off. If it's not though, please fix this, because I wait for so long to play iron banner, and now that it's available, I can't play. Please, bungie, fix this!!
