This issue is also happening to me, but only in Destiny. I can play other online games without issue. However if my PS3 is turned on and watching VUE, it now kicks me out of Destiny.

That's most likely a router configuration issue since you can't have two consoles, or two games (even if the same game) on two different consoles, using the same port/s simultaneously unless you're using UPnP and not port forwarding rules. Even then some routers do not properly implement UPnP, in which case you would need to obtain one that does. So in your case it may be that both Destiny and VUE are trying to use the same port/s and you're not using UPnP, or your router doesn't properly implement it, which is not uncommon. If you are using UPnP make sure no conflicting port forwarding rules are still in place, even though you're no longer using them (You're using UPnP instead) as it can result in the issue you're having. I apologize if the above is confusing. However, this issue as well as others, are becoming more commonplace since Internet Service Providers often supply routers as part of their service package. However, many people are unfamiliar with setting up port forwarding or the supplied router doesn't implement UPnP properly if equipped with it. And the supplied documentation for ISP supplied devices is often quite basic and/or not always clearly understandable. Combine all that with more and more people connecting more and more devices to their home networks and...you get the idea.

  • Not confusing at all, I actually have a tech degree in networking. UPnP is turned on and Port Forwarding is turned off. There is also no ports in the list to be forwarded if it was on. This issue only started happening since the last Bungie hot fix. It has not affected any other games on either of my PS4 and does not affect VUE directly. It appears Destiny introduced a bug that is incorrectly detecting my account as being used for online gaming, when it's only being used for VUE.

In that case it sounds as though you're referring to the issue where one gets a "Your permissions have changed..." error. If so then yes, that is not an end user issue. It may be that the authentication server sees your VUE as not having an account, thus no permissions and subsequently the "Your permissions have changed" error was displayed. If that is in fact what you saw. Those who have a PS4 and a PS3, or an XBox One and an XBox 360 console have seen this occur as well when both consoles are connected to the same router. However, once again that can be as a result of what I described earlier or due to the apparent issue Bungie acknowledged. That said, one should still follow basic troubleshooting procedures and insure their consoles are not trying to utilize the same port/s on the same router. In any case, it's an issue Bungie is aware of and are working to correct. They sent out a Tweet regarding it.
