HelloGames and NMS have finally shown their hand as to what they been working on the past three months while silent.
Would have been nice to get incremental updates about this, but at least now we know, and it seems, despite what some may have thought, they have beeb taking the feedback good and bad and applied it. Its not everything people have brought up, but its a start.
I'm excited to jump back in again and check it out.
Read the patch notes (there's a lot) and share what you think.
You going back to the universe after the update?
-edit-
Appreciate the responses guys and for keeping it civil and rational considering the topic lol.
-edit 2-
Nice job guys and gals keeping the conversation constructive and pleasant. Also we managed to get trending! Keep it up!

The game will always look bad to me. Only because the gameplay I saw of it is on a dank meme vine compilation and the dinosaur looks like FUKING JOHNNY BRAVO WITH SKRAWNY ARMS AND HES LIKE "YAAAY IM A DERNASEUR!!!!"
-
Don't care. You don't get a second chance when you f*ck up that much. I ain't a schmuck.
-
-
Don't mind me, just passing by here dying while finding my goddamn ship in survival mode
-
Too little. Too late. If youre reading this Sean Murray, i will shave that beard off. Youre not worthy of a beard you piece of lying crap! Sean Murray! Do you hear me!!!
-
Ship fights, larger inventories, an alternative to scavenging for materials, listening to player feedback... so basically a better version of Destiny? Sign me up.

Ninjaofdeath23により編集済み: 11/29/2016 8:15:14 AMI might download it again I hope that no man's sky makes a division comeback. But i feel that will take a year

until i see it for $20 I'm not buying it. It looks promising as an early access game, but it's a $60, FULL RELEASE game.

Wow, after all the jokes and bad memes / pointless hate you're all ready to eat it all up again. Just like the Division.. Impatient, you lot. Entitled. Games are out for a month and you condemn them to the stinking pits of Tartarus. THEN a few months and patch notes later you're all jumping to be the first to make a relevant post about how the game actually isn't a shitfest.

Nnoremacにより編集済み: 11/29/2016 1:56:11 AMI went and tried it out. personally I give it a 3/10 they put a cap on the amount of items you can build (atleast in creative mode) so I couldn't build a super mega giant base or anything cause I reached "the limit" Edit: when I play building games (minecraft, etc) I prefer it to not really have a limit on how many stuff I can pack into my house.

brandorobotにより編集済み: 11/28/2016 7:02:11 PMI almost feel bad for them. You can tell Sean Murray is definitely kind of an introverted guy who shouldn't have been the face of the marketing campaign. Especially since he kind of went into hiding once people started criticizing the game. He said a lot of shit he shouldn't have said because he wanted to say yes to everything he was asked. I guess I would feel differently if I had a PS4 and I had bought the game but I didn't. So I'm just looking at it from the outside.

I just said this to some one else but it stands up well on its own. I spent a day with it. It's not horrible, but it just needs more. Building bases and hiring NPCs to man stations is frankly a better progression path than the original "visit every manufacturing plant ever" but the progression is still pointless as there's nothing to do once you reach the end point. Survival mode is actually a little fun, but it suffers from the same problems as above. Not to mention there are arbitrary build limits that prevent the game from going full minecraft, so you can't say the point of the game is building now. If factions meant something beyond quality of life upgrades then I can see this game becoming a lot more engaging as you manage those politics. If the whole game was on massive set of servers like WOW then things would have a -blam!- load of more meaning. As it stands all this up date did was give the game a better progression path. Which mind you is a step in the right direction, but it just needs more.

How do the game modes work? Do people playing with different modes still exist in the same game world?

Aldrichにより編集済み: 11/28/2016 5:50:39 PMIdk what you did but that url is kinda funny Rebalanced resource availability and technology charge requirements Rebalance. Rebalanced how? Why patch notes gotta be so vague....?

That pretty well substantiates the story of rushed release. I have to admit the update has restored a lot of my faith in the game. I might even play it a little bit more.

Yeah I've played the update and it's pretty nice. Adds more to do in the game other than fly to a planet then fly to another and another and another

Good that they are still working on updates. It got a metric ton of flak on arrival which could really burn out small dev shops like Hello Games. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Had it been priced as an indie title people would not be freaking out nearly as much as they did. Personally, I'll pick it up once it drops to indie pricing ($20-ish CAD).
