It's actually hilarious reading the complaints from people on how much money they've spent on FOTL.
My hat goes off to you Bungie for putting those items behind a paywall. You've essentially made a form of gambling but for minors. Activision and your shareholders must be laughing.
Dont worry guardians I get it - its your money, you spend it on whatever you like. Just dont start complaining when its made clear that you are buying a chance, and only a chance. Its not guarantee and it never was.
Its funny cause this isnt the first time this has happened, and because of the success Bungie are getting from milking some of their player base, guess what............ it wont be the last time it happens
Guardians please stop complaining or just stop spending
Edit: Obligatory IM TRENDING! edit :/
Just to be crystal clear for those with a lack of reading comprehension...............
I DO NOT care what you spend your money on
- its your money, you spend it on whatever you like.
Hell if Bungie sold that Ghost Ghost for 500 silver, I would actually go ahead and get silver for the first time just to buy the Ghost Ghost - its fking cool imo
Regarding the whole "this is gambling!" vs "this isnt gambling" debate, its my opinion that this is not gambling in its purist form like in casinos, as you will receive something for the money you put in. whereas in a casino you can spend £20/£30/£3000 and come home with absolutely nothing (apart from regret and remortgaged house lol)

It's all relative value. It's really important to a lot of people I guess, but I think it has a lot to do with gambling. Personally I'm not interested in what I can get from silver even though I love this game. But I will spend money on things I really enjoy. I spent $3000 on tickets to see Tool tonight in Denver and it was worth every penny. My employees that I took appreciated it as well. Everyone has their own vices I just try not to judge what people throw their money at

9 通の返信Funny short story: In a private Destiny forum there is a guy who thought it would be cool to get some of those "cool" items to make him a special snowflake showing off in the tower. So he decided to waste 50€ for 5000+800 silver. He tried to use Paypal but the system gave an error back three times in a row so he used Giropay instead. Back in Destiny he eventually received his 22400 silver...now he tries to get his other 150€ back from Paypal, PSN or Bungle. Needless to say some of us laughed about his stupidity and I really hope he'll learn through his loss...but people like this are what they are: Dumb as shit. It's also funny that even with the use of Silver those items are only obtainable through RNG. It baffles me that this shit is even legal in a game for teens. It's obviously a form of gambling.

A youtuber spent over $100... I just laughed. I spent $20 -- I just wanted was the terrify emote. I opened 8 Tess packages and all I received was last years mask which I already had, but I also received the sparrow... I will not spend anymore money on the FotL, as I got what I wanted.... SRL, that's another story. I don't have a problem with microtransactions, so I'll spend money when I want, but I don't want to gamble $80+ dollars. Lol.

If anything they should feel duped since nothing about this "free" live event is actually free. They had no legit reason for changing how FotL worked last year. They -blam!-ing ruined a cool event just to squeeze more money from the people that help feed their families.

You know, if I hadn't already gotten 3 duplicates of one kind of ornament, and 2 duplicates of another kind of ornament, all through free treasures, I might be convinced to buy some treasures... But there is no way in hell I'm buying from an RNG system that has already shown it's complete lack in different results. Getting 3 ornaments that I already had has really turned me off. I don't even care anymore. Just not worth it. I do want some treasures of the lost though... but, lucky me, I have no money to begin with.

Micro Transactions are hear to stay and every big game will have it in one way of another. The reason every big game will have it is because it's so damn profitable. I've not spent anything on Destiny micro transactions myself yet, because nothing has had that need to have feeling. I'm not going to judge people who spend money on it, as I've spent quite a bit on another game I play called FIFA UT. If you find the micro transaction improve your experience then fill your boots buy what you want.

I think most people are expecting to get a little more back for their money. It is a free event with some cosmetic items that are fun. It absolutely should not cost more than the game itself or even the RoI dlc to obtain all these items. It should be smart loot based. Having a kiosk with the masks (so you can pick them up whenever you want) but giving duplicates is a slap in the face. You should be guaranteed to have everything if you bought x amount of treasure boxes. I think people have the right to complain or state their opinion on the matter because there are a lot of people who feel a bit scammed by the whole thing.
