It's actually hilarious reading the complaints from people on how much money they've spent on FOTL.
My hat goes off to you Bungie for putting those items behind a paywall. You've essentially made a form of gambling but for minors. Activision and your shareholders must be laughing.
Dont worry guardians I get it - its your money, you spend it on whatever you like. Just dont start complaining when its made clear that you are buying a chance, and only a chance. Its not guarantee and it never was.
Its funny cause this isnt the first time this has happened, and because of the success Bungie are getting from milking some of their player base, guess what............ it wont be the last time it happens
Guardians please stop complaining or just stop spending
Edit: Obligatory IM TRENDING! edit :/
Just to be crystal clear for those with a lack of reading comprehension...............
I DO NOT care what you spend your money on
- its your money, you spend it on whatever you like.
Hell if Bungie sold that Ghost Ghost for 500 silver, I would actually go ahead and get silver for the first time just to buy the Ghost Ghost - its fking cool imo
Regarding the whole "this is gambling!" vs "this isnt gambling" debate, its my opinion that this is not gambling in its purist form like in casinos, as you will receive something for the money you put in. whereas in a casino you can spend £20/£30/£3000 and come home with absolutely nothing (apart from regret and remortgaged house lol)

I don't get the amount of complaints about microtransactions. First, you don't need the ghosts, sparrow, emotes. You don't need any of it. I've got a suspicion that everyone was playing the game just fine before these new FotL items were introduced. Second, missing out on them due to bad RNG while opening your packages isn't going to break the game. Its still just as playable without the items as it is with them. The items don't grant the user any advantage whatsoever. Now if there was some OP weapon that was only available by paying, then you might have a right to bitch. But for now, it just seems like a bunch of whining for no reason. Because this guy over here has a cooler ghost or sparrow. People are always going to have something that someone else wishes they had, whether it really matters or not. And these items don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. That's real life. Learn to live with it.

1 返信Destiny is just a big slot machine with digital triggers instead of physical levers. Play a match, spin the loot wheel. If it wasn't so fun I'd call foul.

Its gambling. You buy a change to get a certain item you want. That makes it gambling. But i dont care. I buy silver anyway just because i can. Also its my money so i can spend it how i want. But i can understand not everyone is in that position. And to put almost every mask behind this paywall is not a nice move from Bungie. But it doesnt stop me from spending a few bucks on silver.

2 通の返信Destiny is just a placeholder for Borderlands 3 anyway. Hell, come Friday I'll be playing Skyrim and I completely forgot I pre-ordered Uncharted 4 lol. Bungie has made it much easier to put down Destiny with the 'creation' of Supremacy and their attempts to force us to play it. Iron Banner, two Shaax bounties, a Bungie Bounty, etc. They have to know it sucks right? That being said, Rise of Iron and the Festival of the Lost are two great creations imo. Aesthetically they're fantastic, the RoI quests were actually difficult and changeling mentally. I'd pay for more content like this, I haven't had this much fun playing a game since Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep.

Doc SoCalにより編集済み: 10/27/2016 3:52:05 PMI do think the whole thing is very psychologically designed to get people to gamble out of some strange FOMO. Microtrans are fine but let people get what they want when they pay up. I would love to see the revenue numbers for FOTL, Millions of dollars for items that are so much digital fluff. Its hard to blame em and they have to LOL when the see the cash pour in.

Opened the 3 free ones, got the same masks i had last year, laughed and turned off the game. Really, anyone who spends money on this has their selft to blame. I love Halloween but the event is pretty much a giant cash grab mixed with a bit of year one cryptarch rng on the rewards

I don't understand why more people aren't absolutely enraged by the idea of these items being behind a pay wall. The ghosts and sparrow being the more prominent examples. These items however can be argued are cosmetic actually serve a in game function (stat rolls on ghosts and speed on sparrows). Shouldn't be locked behind a pay wall. They should be a reward for the quests, something tangible to say " I participated in FoTL 2016: i.e. the ghost shells from Crimson Days". Not some paper masks that you can't wear day to day and have people be like "OH COOL" . At the very least make the Ghosts and Sparrow random drops for anything. Hiding this all behind a pay wall with a * assumed* weekly repetition for the POTENTIAL of any of these dropping at all. I have in the past bought items like emotes because they were fun and I wanted them. But that was buying the item directly not this gambling on packages nonsense. Please people give them some feedback and tell them you want your ghost ghost and your sparrow. Don't buy into this gambling bull.

I laugh at every post when people say they spent $5, $20, $50. HAHAHAHAHA Hat's off to you bungie, charge them more money for less silver. Get everything you can from these people. $1 per silver and they'll buy it LOL

3 通の返信DynamixOGにより編集済み: 10/27/2016 1:54:15 PMObviously, Its really gotten to the point where a corporation like Activision has become greedy and corrupt. They have more than enough money to pay their own employees. And thats what really pisses me the -blam!- off. Especially when ROI was announced to be $30 when it really feels like a $20 expansion imo.

3 通の返信I agree, it's hilarious, I'm so sick of the same argument "it's a free event so stop complaining!!¡" Yeah but it's hardly free when you had to have bought a £40 expansion to enjoy any of it....and then a £25 expansion the next year to again enjoy it... And besides yeah it may be 'free' but a 'free' event isn't exactly worth it when 90% of the new awesome advertised content is locked behind your typical gambling paywall. I just hate how quick this community is to protect such a shitty practice in gaming, embarrassing.

6 通の返信A bit impartial towards this debate in general, but I would like to add something I think most people are forgetting. I'm sure a portion of the player base are adults who work hard for their paycheck. For money that is THEIRS. They are free to spend it as freely as they want, with little to no difference if $50 came out of their savings. Perhaps it wouldn't be the same if a teen got the money from his parent, but an adult freely spending their own money is perfectly fine by me. Of course, the same could be said about people's opinions. That they are free to say whatever they want, with little to no alteration in their daily lives. But that's just my two cents. People are free to debate, this is just my mindset.

Seems like an influx of candy crush idiots around here defending microtransactions. Same sort of people oblivious to pyramid schemes, who get mad when family members don't buy their shit products. Resulting in a lose lose situation for all.

7 通の返信People calling BUNGIE retards for doing this, well BUNGIE isn't. They're very smart because I would have definitely done the same thing. This is how businesses works, you gamble and see if idiots spend money and if they do then you keep doing it till you milk every idiot or till your idea fails.
-
I gambled for the Ghost Ghost and lost. I got screwed, but I'm not complaining. It was my decision to spend that money, and I take responsibility for it, just like everyone else should. You CHOSE to spend your money on something that wasn't guaranteed. That's your problem, not Bungie's. Now I wear my exotic engram mask in shame, as a reminder to not be a dumbass for the next event.

4 通の返信Sijray21により編集済み: 10/27/2016 1:23:06 PMI'm not directly talking to the OP, but this is just a general opinion on Eververse. Spending money on packages IS a form of gambling. The reward is simply satisfaction from a video game product vs money back. Who cares what others spend money on? It's basic economics. If there wasn't a market demand for the goods then it wouldn't exist (or it would go away quickly). If Bungie & Activision think that people will pay for cosmetic stuff in a video game then they can offer that in their game. It's pretty simple: if you don't want to spend money on Eververse stuff then don't. If you want to then go for it. I know I have no issues buying silver if I want because I'm an adult that makes good money who likes to spend money on hobbies. Destiny is a video game and video games is a hobby for me. I think people struggle with the "keeping up with the Jones'" mentality where they feel compelled to buy stuff from Eververse.
